A Dangerous Yandere Love

Chapter 141: Chapter 123.5: Hina’s demons

After leaving Kai's room, Hina walked rapidly into the kitchen to grab her school bag and then walked back to take a shower.

Hina stepped into the bathroom, closing the door behind her with a soft click.

The moment she crossed the threshold, a wave of nausea hit her, sharp and sudden.

She leaned against the sink, her breath coming in shallow gasps as she tried to steady herself.

Her hands trembled, and her vision blurred for a moment.

She felt it… the familiar, creeping unease that always came when she hadn't taken her pills for too long.

The chemicals in her brain were betraying her, and she could feel the edges of her control fraying.

"Calm down… Calm. Down…" she whispered to herself, gripping the edge of the sink until her knuckles turned white.

"Just calm down." She repeated to herself, while her hands was gripping the middle of her chest.

Her breath grew more erratic and shallow.

But the more she tried to steady her breathing, the more her thoughts spiraled.

Memories flashed before her eyes—Sabushi's cold smile, the blood on her hands, the faces of friends she'd lost.

Her chest tightened, and she felt like the walls were closing in on her.

She couldn't breathe.

She couldn't think.

This is what happens when she forgets to take her special pills.

Bad memories returns in an instant.

All at once.

"No, no, no," she muttered, her voice rising in panic.

She stumbled toward her backpack, which she had tossed onto the floor earlier.

Her movements were frantic, almost desperate, as she unzipped it and dug through its contents.

Her fingers closed around the small bottle of pills, and she nearly cried in relief.

With shaking hands, she twisted the cap open and dumped two pills into her palm.

She didn't even bother with water at first, tossing a few them into her mouth and swallowing dry.

The bitter taste made her gag, but she forced them down, her throat burning.

She gulped down water straight from the tap, not caring if it was clean or not.

For a moment, she stood there, leaning against the sink, waiting for the pills to take effect.

Her heart was still racing, but slowly, the tension in her body began to ease.

The sharp edges of her panic dulled, and she could breathe again.

But the calm didn't last long.

As the water from the shower began to steam up the room, her thoughts drifted back to the past.

She started thinking about Sabushi.

Not even the pills saved her.

Sabushi.

The name alone was enough to make her blood boil.

He had been everything to her once… a father, a mentor and also a monster.

She remembered the day he had found her, a scared and angry girl with nowhere to go.

A girl who had just committed a murder.

He saw how much talent she had for killing, and decided to take advantage of it.

He had taken her in, given her a purpose, a family.

But that family had been built on blood and violence.

"You're strong, Hina," he would say, his voice cold and calculating. "But strength isn't enough. You have to be ruthless. If you will, all of this will be yours, and people will be happy."

And she had been.

She had followed his every order, learned every lesson, until she realized the truth: Sabushi wasn't a father.

He was a jailer.

And she was just another weapon in his arsenal.

It took Hina a lot of time with the help of Akira to get out from her criminal life.

She promised herself to live a normal life.

But now, she had to kill him.

For Kai.

For herself.

For the chance to finally be free.

But the thought of working with him—Rei—made her stomach churn.

Rei.

Once a criminal and now a leader of a sect of assassins, the man who had destroyed what little she had left.

She remembered the night her "friend had been killed, one by one, during a mission gone horribly wrong.

She remembers his voice, his face, everything of him.

She had survived, but the guilt and grief had never left her.

"It wasn't your fault," Sabushi had told her that night. "It was Rei. He betrayed us."

And she had believed him.

For years, she had hated Rei, sworn revenge.

But despite that, she even forgot his existence when she tried to live a normal life, not wanting a revenge anymore.

But now, she had to work with him.

She had to pretend to trust him, to collaborate with the man who once tried to kill her.

The thought made her sick.

"You can't escape from your own destiny." That was the phrase that Rei said when he killed a friend of Hina.

Hina held the side of the sink with a firm grip and looked at herself in the mirror with a very angry look on her face.

"Why… why…? Why am I doing all of this…? Why am I so attached to Kai? Why do I want to protect him? Why is his safety more important than my future for me…?" Hina whispered, with an empty expression, while looking at her own reflection on the mirror.

She couldn't explain her feelings for Kai.

Why she wanted to protect him so hard.

Then, an image of a young boy with white hair smiling to her appeared on her mind.

Her eyes widened, recalling a memory she thought she had lost.

"Hey… are you okay…?" His soft voice echoed in her mind.

He was so sweet.

He even held out his hand to her.

It was a sunny day, in a park.

"Ka- Ah!" She exclaimed.

Then, her head started to hurt badly.

Hina almost fell on the ground.

She tried to control herself by holding her head and controlling her breath , but all she did was taking other pills.

She swallowed a few more other before softly "collapsing" onto the floor.

"Hah… hah… hah…" she breathed, in order to calm herself.

After that, the pills had an almost immediate effect.

"What… was that…?" She asked to herself in confusion.

She stopped thinking for a moment.

The only thing she wanted to do was to take a shower, hoping that she could relax for an instant.

And that's what she did.

She got up and undressed, by dropping everything on the floor.

Hina then stepped into the shower, letting the hot water cascade over her body.

She closed her eyes, trying to wash away the memories, the guilt, the anger.

But it was no use.

The past clung to her like a second skin.

She pressed her forehead against the cool tiles, her breath hitching as tears mixed with the water streaming down her face.

She hated this—hated feeling weak, hated needing the pills to keep herself together.

But most of all, she hated the thought of losing Kai.

"I have to do this," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of the water. "For him."

But deep down, she wondered if she was strong enough.

If she could really face Sabushi, really work with Rei, without losing herself in the process.

She kept thinking and thinking for almost 30 minutes.

When Hina finally stepped out of the shower, she felt calmer, but the storm inside her was far from over.

She wrapped herself in a towel and stared at her reflection in the fogged-up mirror.

Her eyes were hollow, shadowed by the weight of everything she carried.

But there was something else there too.

A flicker of determination.

She couldn't afford to fall apart.

Not now.

Not when Kai was in danger.

Without getting dressed, Hina walked directly into Kai's room, with only a towel covering her.

Her hair were still wet.

With some light and silent steps, she opened the door, without knocking.

She found Kai playing with his telephone.

"Kai-Kun" she whispered, trying to catch his attention.

Kai got caught on surprise, and he immediately put his phone away.

"O-Oh… hey, Hina. Are you done?" He asked, with an almost nervous voice.

Hina didn't care so much about his actions.

She probably took too much pills, and her head was feeling dizzy and sleepy.

All she did was removing her towel in front of him, revealing her beautiful toned body, with a lot of scars.

Kai was surprised to see that scene.

And he got a little bit excited.

Then, Hina rapidly moved next to him and leaned closer to his ear.

"Kai-Kun… I need you." She whispered, while gently rubbing his cheek…
