Chapter 988: King Of Donkeys.
Kamar and Shi Lang talked with each other a bit before the Terran decided to leave and head to the closest town where the monks were influencing people. The exchange with Kamar gave him a lot of details about how things worked in the southern continent.
Kamar sent a young man with Shi Lang to lead the way. The Terran asked, "Salem, where are we heading?"
Salem took a deep breath and said, "Lord, we are heading to the Silver Mountain City."
The Terran asked, "Who is the strongest person there?"
Salem replied after some thought, "The place is a small level city, the strongest is the Divine Beast Alliance, headed by an elder of the Sterling Hawk Clan. He should be in the Dao King realm."
Shi Lang nodded and then said, "I see, it would be easy to handle things then."
...
After a few days, they reached the city built atop a huge silver mountain. Salem said, "Lord, this is the place."
Shi Lang nodded and then followed Salem to the entrance of the city. The people landed on the ground and the guards immediately raised their brows. Salem took out a jade token and said, "Lord Shi Lang is an ally of the Iron-horn bull clan."
The guards frowned and after some thought, one of them said, "We will call over the Captain, he will decide if this human can be allowed inside the city."
Salem frowned and said, "Is that what you did when those monks came over?"
The guards suddenly picked up their weapons and one of them said, "How dare you speak ill of the exalted ones."
Shi Lang raised his brow, and he saw the guards charging towards Salem. He sighed and said, "Well, time to enlighten some ignorant bald donkeys."
He raised his hand and patted Salem's forearm. The latter was taller than even Shi Lang, the Terran walked forward and blinked his eyes. The next moment, a strong aura of the supreme radiated from him. The guards were stunned, they shivered when they caught Shi Lang's gaze locked on them. The instinctive fear of facing a supreme made them all kneel down on the ground.
The two guards kowtowed but Shi Lang did not spare them any extra glance. He kept walking ahead with his hands crossed behind his back. He did not have any time to entertain these foolish people and talk sense to them.
The bigger the fist, the bigger the voice. Shi Lang entered the city, and many people saw him. They all knelt on the ground with their heads bowed. Shi Lang looked at a young man with dog ears and asked gently, "Can you tell me where the monks are?"
His voice was very soft, and the young man was spell bound. He raised his head and replied in a daze, "They are all gathered at the Council Hall."
Shi Lang smiled and asked, "Where would the council hall be?"
The child replied, "Your Excellency, the biggest building in the center of the city is the council hall."
Shi Lang nodded and then he kept walking ahead. With every step he moved higher in the void. Soon, he appeared in the void and his eyes were locked on to the council building. As he entered a state of indifference, his supreme aura began to radiated even more.
Every passing second more and more people raised their heads to look in the void, and they knelt on the ground.
...
Inside the council hall, a few beast kin elders were sitting on the ground and listening to the scriptures chanted by a bald monk. However, just when the monk was about to finish his scripture, his calm visage changed, and he raised his head with a big frown on his face.
He said, "Xiao Meng, go and check what is it. I am sensing a great disturbance in Dao."
Your next chapter is on empire
The disciple standing beside him bowed and vanished from his spot. He appeared in the void and asked righteously, "Who dares to cause a disruption in the Holy Dao?"
Shi Lang looked at the young monk and said, "Such presumption, the fact that a bunch of delusional bald donkeys think they can perceive the Dao, very amusing."
The young monk, Xiao Meng raised his brow and as soon as he did so, his soul shook, and he fell down to the ground. It was as if his wings lost the wind. Xiao Meng crashed into the ground causing a loud thud. Shi Lang looked down on the young monk, who was laying inside a shallow pit with his eyes staring at the space.
The Terran looked at the young monk and asked, "So, where is the king of donkeys who can perceive the Dao with his eyes clouded by illusions?"
Xiao Meng replied in a daze, "Inside the Council Hall. Master is preaching sutras."
Shi Lang looked at the council hall and said, "King Of Donkeys, come out."
His voice did not spread around, but was projected to the Old Monk sitting inside the council hall. The old monk replied quickly and yelled, "Evil Spawn, how dare you!!"
The figure appeared before Shi Lang in the void. The old man was wearing a cassock, apparently he was an accomplished monk. His wrinkled face was trembling a bit because of the rage coursing through his mind, he looked at Shi Lang, but after a moment of daze, he raised his fist and said, "Vajra Purification."
As he punched, a golden phantom of a golden fist moved through the void heading towards Shi Lang, who snorted and said, "Bow down, Supreme Shura Fist."
A small life like, red fist condensed in the void and attacked the golden fist. The speed and the size of the red fist were lacking in comparison, but as soon as it came in touch with the golden fist, the latter vanished, and the red fist hit the old monk squarely on the chest.
The old monk coughed up a mouthful of blood as he fell to the ground. Xiao Meng was also there, and the two monks lay side by side. The Terran asked, "Open your eyes and see if I am the one who caused disruption in the path of Dao or was it your Monk Supreme?"
His question caused the two monks to shiver, and at the same time all the people from the Silver Mountain City shivered and woke up from their daze. Shi Lang's question hit them hard and bitter.
