Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 27: Arise, Porunga!

Namek was vast, its inhabitants scattered across the planet. In a peaceful village miles away, a group of Namekians was busy planting seedlings of Ma Bo trees. As they worked, an elderly Namekian closed his eyes, receiving the special signal transmitted by Nail.

"Dende, come here," the Third Elder, Mulin, called out.

Dende jogged over, his face full of curiosity and a cheerful smile. "What is it, Elder?"

"Nail just sent out a message to all the villages. The Great Elder is summoning the Dragon Balls. It's been a while since you've seen your brother Nail, hasn't it? Let's go together," Mulin said with a warm smile.

"Really? That's great!" Dende exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with joy.

"We're far from the Great Elder's location. Let's head home and prepare. Bring the Dragon Ball with you," Mulin instructed.

"Okay!" Dende nodded obediently and dashed off toward his home.

Namek was currently in a prolonged period of peace, with no immediate threat from malevolent alien forces. Additionally, the individual combat strength of Namekians was far from weak. With a battle power of only 1,500, even someone like Raditz could terrorize the cosmos. This made Namek's defense formidable—though, of course, insignificant compared to warriors with battle powers in the millions.

As Nail's signal reached every corner of the planet, the village elders began gathering their Dragon Balls and heading toward the Great Elder's residence.

Given the varying distances of the villages, their arrivals were staggered. The Third Elder and Dende were among the first to reach the Great Elder after days of travel.

From afar, Dende spotted Nail and waved excitedly. "Brother Nail!" he shouted as he ran toward him.

Krillin, standing nearby, turned to see what the commotion was about. He first noticed a smaller version of Piccolo, followed by an elderly Namekian. However, what truly caught his attention was the large Dragon Ball they carried.

Nail turned at the sound of Dende's voice and, seeing him, was momentarily surprised. Without hesitation, he walked forward and scooped Dende up in a warm embrace. "Dende, what are you doing here?"

"So this is Dende," Krillin thought as he observed the young Namekian. He recalled that Dende would one day become an excellent member of the Dragon Clan.

Dende grinned happily. "It's been so long since I saw you, Brother Nail. The Elder brought the Dragon Ball, so I came along!"

As the 108th child of the Great Elder, Dende was technically a sibling to every other Namekian. However, given the age differences, the elder Namekians like the Third Elder were more like grandparents in their demeanor.

Nail turned to greet the approaching Third Elder. His smile broadened. "Third Elder, it's been a long time."

"Indeed, Nail. How is the Great Elder?" Mulin asked warmly.

"He's well, resting inside," Nail replied, taking the Dragon Ball from the elder and stepping aside as Mulin headed toward the house.

Dende excitedly announced, "I'm going to see the Great Elder!" before hurrying inside.

"Let me see the Dragon Ball, Nail!" Krillin's eyes gleamed with excitement.

Nail chuckled. "What's the rush? A single Dragon Ball won't do much good. You need all seven."

"Of course, I know that," Krillin said, reaching out to take the basketball-sized orb. "But I'm just curious. A Dragon Ball this big is something else."

As he held it, Krillin marveled at its translucent beauty, the three stars shining brightly within. "Haha, a three-star ball! The bigger they are, the more impressive they seem."

Inside the house, the Third Elder eyed the elderly Guardian of Earth with some confusion. He had no recollection of him and had never heard of a Namekian surviving off-world. Suppressing his curiosity, Mulin respectfully greeted the Great Elder.

"Great Elder," Mulin said with a bow.

The Great Elder opened his eyes slowly. "Mulin, you've arrived. Please, sit."

Mulin sat down but couldn't help but glance at the Guardian. The Guardian, feeling slightly awkward, smiled faintly and averted his gaze.

Another day passed, and all the village elders had arrived. The Great Elder, seated at the head, began to speak. "This young man comes from a distant planet called Earth. He seeks our Dragon Balls for a noble purpose. I have foreseen that he will one day aid Namek in overcoming great hardship."

Hearing this, the elders had no objections. Each had already handed their Dragon Balls to Nail upon arrival.

"There's one more thing," the Great Elder added, his tone soft. "This man here is a Namekian from Earth. Today, he officially returns to his roots. His father was Katas."

"What? He's Katas' child?" The elders were visibly surprised.

"Katas was an extraordinary member of the Dragon Clan," one elder exclaimed. "I recall the Great Elder mentioning that Katas sent his child to another planet before Namek's catastrophe. I never thought he'd survive!"

The elders approached the Guardian, their expressions filled with astonishment and curiosity.

The Guardian, nervous under their scrutiny, broke into a sweat. He wasn't sure how to respond.

Suddenly, the elders spoke in unison. "Welcome home!"

Their voices were warm and loud, breaking the tension. Laughter filled the room, and the elders celebrated the addition of another Dragon Clan warrior. It was a joyous occasion for all Namekians.

With all seven Dragon Balls gathered, Krillin and Nail flew to a distant wasteland to avoid disturbing the Great Elder's rest.

Nail placed the Dragon Balls on the ground and glanced at Krillin, who nodded in response.

Taking a deep breath, Nail shouted, "Arise, Porunga!" (in Namekian).

The scene was similar to summoning the Earth's Shenron. The seven Dragon Balls began to glow, their flashing light intensifying. The sky darkened as dense clouds gathered. Lightning streaked across the heavens, illuminating the land below. However, the summoning on Namek was even more dramatic, with the darkness and storms appearing far more intense.

"Roar!"

A thunderous dragon's roar echoed through the sky. The golden lightning streaks resembled furious serpents darting through the storm clouds.

Golden light erupted from the Dragon Balls, spiraling upward to merge with the stormy skies. A second roar followed as the massive, serpentine form of the Namekian Shenron, Porunga, emerged from the clouds. His emerald body towered over the land, his fiery red eyes glaring down at Krillin and Nail. Compared to Earth's Shenron, Porunga was far more intimidating in appearance.

"Speak your wishes. I shall grant three of them," Porunga's ancient voice boomed, deeper and more resonant than Earth's Shenron.

Nail, awestruck by the dragon's presence, muttered to himself, "So this is Porunga."

Krillin, however, was deep in thought. Two of his wishes were already decided: learning Instant Transmission and acquiring a stellar map of the universe. But the third wish posed a dilemma. Should he enhance the Senzu Bean Plantation, or learn divine languages? The former would improve his energy resources, while the latter was essential for using Super Dragon Balls in the future.

Just then, the system chimed in smugly, "Now you see how important learning a second language is, don't you? Heh, I know the divine language. You know what to choose."

Krillin's eyes lit up. "That settles it."

"First wish, Nail: Ask Porunga to optimize the Senzu Bean Plantation as much as possible," Krillin instructed. He knew the phrasing would compel Porunga to put maximum effort into fulfilling the wish.

Nail relayed the request to Porunga.

"That is a simple wish," Porunga replied. His eyes glowed red as he worked on the request. However, the glow persisted longer than usual, and a bead of sweat appeared on Porunga's brow. "This human… he's clever," Porunga thought to himself.

After a long moment, Porunga spoke. "The wish has been granted. I have expanded the Senzu Bean Plantation significantly and created a unique mental space to house it within your spirit. It will grow faster and more efficiently."

Krillin felt a new mental connection forming—a distinct marker for the plantation within his mind. Upon focusing on it, he found that the plantation had grown fivefold in size and now absorbed energy much faster. "Porunga may not be pretty, but he's efficient," Krillin thought, giving the dragon an internal thumbs-up.

"Speak your second wish," Porunga's deep voice resounded once more.
