DxD: I Steal Luck

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Monster

As more of their comrades fell, the remaining Black Blade members finally began to tremble with fear, retreating in terror, afraid that they would be next. They surrounded the figure in the center, whose blood-drenched sword dripped steadily onto the scarlet-stained ground.

"This guy... is a monster...!"

This thought echoed in the minds of everyone present, including Hideki Nozaki. These were the Black Blade Group's elite, hardened killers who had carved out their infamy. Yet not a single one had managed to touch Blake before falling. Was this even humanly possible?

"Weren't you going to destroy me? Why stop now?"

Ignoring Hideki Nozaki's trembling face and terrified expression, Blake slowly raised his blood-dripping Frost Whisper Sword. His voice was tinged with bloodlust as he spoke.

The aura of murderous intent emanating from him surged to its peak, sending waves of terror rippling through the remaining Black Blade members. Many were on the verge of collapsing to their knees, while Hideki Nozaki's face alternated between pale and livid.

He finally understood—this time, they'd kicked an iron wall, one harder and more unyielding than any they'd ever encountered.

"Sixteen armed with guns? Let's deal with them first."

Effortlessly dodging the first volley of gunfire, Blake quickly assessed the situation.

Immediately, he activated his sensory-dampening ability to its fullest.

[Swish— Swish— Swish— Swish— Swish!]

In the blink of an eye, before the Black Blade Group members could react, five heads had already fallen to the ground. Blood sprayed wildly, and the headless bodies, still gripping their guns, toppled over with a thud.

"What's happening?! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

While everyone stood stunned by the headless corpses, Blake's figure disappeared from their view again. Another sound of flesh being pierced followed, accompanied by a fresh spray of blood, repeating the grisly scene.

With his Perceptual Distortion ability weakening his enemies, combined with a strength that surpassed normal human limits, firearms were useless against him. The Black Blade members couldn't even keep up with his movements. All they saw was the fleeting gleam of his blade, followed by blood spurting from a throat or a heart being pierced!

To them, it was as if Death itself was reaping their lives, leaving them powerless to resist.

"Run!"

After witnessing the deaths of more than twenty comrades within seconds, the remaining Black Blade members finally broke. Terrified, they dropped their weapons and scattered in all directions. This was their only thought now.

As for Hideki Nozaki, he was the first to flee. He finally realized they had provoked a monster beyond human comprehension. His trusted guns were useless. A sword outpacing bullets? Was this even the same world he knew?

Utterly terrified, Hideki Nozaki's mind fixated on survival. As long as he escaped, he resolved to retire to a remote countryside, far from this devil. Living in the same city as this creature was too horrifying!

Under Blake's relentless pursuit, Yajiki, the seasoned underworld boss, experienced a complete mental breakdown. The higher one climbed, the more one feared death.

"Where do you think you're going?"

However, the more Yajiki wanted to escape, the less Blake intended to let him.

[Slash!]

As that nightmare-inducing voice echoed near his ear, a flash of sword light followed. Yajiki's terrified eyes watched as both his lower legs were severed, sending him crashing to the ground. Blood quickly seeped out, staining his expensive black suit.

"Aaaahhhhh!!!"

A bone-chilling scream echoed through the abandoned factory, akin to the wailing of ghosts.
