DxD: I Steal Luck

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Eliminating Future Threats

Inside the assembly hall was a massive dojo, typically used by members of the Black Blade Gang for sparring and training. It could accommodate over 300 gathered members.

At this moment, aside from the four middle-aged men with extraordinary leader-like presences seated at the front, everyone else stood.

These four seated individuals were the Black Blade Gang's four hall masters. They had followed the gang's leader through thick and thin and held authority second only to him.

"Guandao, did the boss say why he summoned us? I was just about to score with a pretty girl, pants off and everything, when you called me here."

"I'm not sure either. But the boss seemed pretty urgent," Guandao replied, frowning in confusion.

"By the way, I heard the boss took about a hundred men out to fight earlier. Could it be related?"

"Maybe the remnants of those gangs we crushed before are stirring up trouble again?"

The four hall masters chatted idly, unaware that their boss had sent men to pursue Blake, only for them to be slaughtered. After all, it had happened in an instant.

"Creak—"

At that moment, the doors to the assembly hall were pushed open, drawing everyone's attention.

Assuming it was their boss, Hideki Nozaki, they prepared to greet him. However, they froze in confusion at the sight of the figure entering.

"Is everyone here?" Blake asked coldly after scanning the room.

"They're all here. Did the boss send you?" Guandao guessed, his eyes lingering on Blake's flowing silver hair.

The other three hall masters, however, noticed the blood-stained sword at Blake's side and the overwhelming killing intent radiating from him. Their pupils contracted in alarm.

Without replying, Blake casually shut the doors behind him and locked them. Then, he began walking toward the group.

"Good. Everyone's here."

In a ghostly flash, Blake vanished from their sight. The next moment, a spray of blood erupted. Guandao clutched his throat in terror before collapsing.

"This guy's an enemy! Attack!" the other three hall masters roared, their pupils narrowing as they drew their guns.

However, their resistance was futile. Over the next ten minutes, gunfire and the sounds of slaughter filled the hall, blending into a grim symphony.

When the final scream faded, silence reigned. Only the scent of blood and the sight of corpses piled high remained—every single one killed with a single, precise strike.

Fortunately, this was a major base of the Black Blade Gang, and outsiders rarely ventured here. Otherwise, anyone witnessing this scene would likely faint from terror.

In less than two hours, Blake had annihilated one of the region's dominant forces. Even accounting for travel time, it would've taken no more than 30 minutes otherwise.

Hearing the system's notification in his mind, Blake finally exhaled and slumped into a chair, breathing heavily. His sword, the Ice Whisper, was planted beside him.

Killing so many people in one day had left him physically and mentally drained. His strength, divine energy, and spirit were nearly spent after continuously using his sensory-weakening ability.

Human life, after all, was fragile—easily extinguished with a single strike. But since they opposed him, even if a thousand more came, Blake would kill them all.

These scoundrels and scum deserved death. And those who dared threaten Airi, his reverse scale, deserved it even more!

As he gazed at the sea of corpses, Blake remained composed, unaffected by the emotions that might plague someone after killing hundreds. This was the path he had chosen.

At that moment, a pleasant ringtone interrupted his thoughts. It came from the corpse of one of the hall masters. Raising an eyebrow, Blake picked up the phone.

The email was from someone named Yuda Miki.

The recipient was labeled Silver-Haired Lord.

Subject: A Humble Request

Body:

Silver-Haired Lord, we are members of the Yellow Tiger Gang, former enemies of the Black Blade Gang. We humbly request your protection and acceptance.

---

Blake glanced at the braided hall master's corpse, shaking his head in bemusement.

"So, this guy was colluding with a rival gang? Or did the Yellow Tiger Gang set him up?"

After mulling it over, he dialed the sender's number.

---

"Hello, it's me."

"L-Lord, will you accept us?" A fawning voice answered on the other end.

"I'm calling for one reason. Handle the police for me. I'll give you the Black Blade Gang's territory in return."

"W-What? Are you serious?!"

"Believe it or don't. I can always give it to another gang."

"No, no! We'll take care of the police!"

"Good."

Without wasting more words, Blake hung up.

Becoming a gang boss in this mundane world held no appeal for Blake. For him, the only use these gangs had was to handle nuisances like the police.
