Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Chapter 37 - A Bountiful Moment

“What can I get for you?”

A blonde beauty asked from inside the food truck.

Lin Feng glanced at the menu hanging on the food truck. It was all in English, but with pictures for reference, he could make out the gist of it. It was mostly fast food.

“Miss, how many burgers and hot dogs do you have? I’ll take them all. And the same with the colas. You don’t need to prepare them, just give me all the condiments as well.”

“Huh?”

The woman looked at Lin Feng in confusion. She had never seen anyone shop like this before.

“Hurry, I’m in a rush. This is the money. It should be enough, and there’s no need for change.”

Lin Feng casually tossed out a wad of US bills, probably amounting to over two thousand dollars.

“Sir, are you serious?”

“Dead serious. Are you selling?”

“Selling! Of course, selling! Where should I put all these things for you?”

The woman asked, puzzled.

Without another word, Lin Feng jumped into the food truck and took everything he could find.

In fact, it wasn’t much: a box and a half of pre-cooked fried chicken, three barrels of oil, two boxes of bread, two boxes of frozen steaks, and three types of condiments – salad dressing, ketchup, and black pepper.

All these items filled seven compartments in Lin Feng’s Leather Backpack. He intentionally left one compartment for other useful items.

The woman gaped at Lin Feng’s Leather Backpack.

“Shush! I’m actually an alien. Don’t tell anyone, okay?”

Lin Feng gently placed his finger on the woman’s lips, whispering. Then he casually picked up a few hot dogs already made on the table.

“Okay…”

The woman nodded blankly.

What does an alien want with my burgers and fried chicken? Do they like to eat them too?

…………

Soon, Lin Feng arrived at the motorboat and tossed the keys to the other three men.

As expected, just like the main team from the previous bank heist, it consisted of one black man and two white men.

“So, let me get this right. You took so long to come back just to buy a few hot dogs?”

A middle-aged man asked, spreading his hands.

“Mmm-hmm, have a taste. They’re not bad.”

Lin Feng handed out the hot dogs.

“Haha, so are these our last meals before the end, Michael?”

“Enough with the negative talk. Let’s eat and then get moving. I’ve got the weapons and the diving suits ready.”

Michael said, taking a bite of his hot dog.

“Mmm~ The taste is indeed good. Lin has a good eye.”

…………

In a short while, they rode their motorboat to a spot under a bridge. It was a place hardly anyone came to, and the weapons were hidden there.

There were four micro submachine guns altogether, each with five spare magazines, and four diving suits.

“Alright, guys, let’s get moving. After this job, we can relax for a while.”

After Michael finished speaking, he took the lead in setting off.

Next was Trevor, then Franklin, with Lin Feng bringing up the rear.

The reason was simple: his driving skills were terrible.

After all, it was his first time driving a motorboat. He could barely control it and had difficulty not flipping it over.

Michael had suggested that Lin Feng ride with Franklin, but Lin Feng declined.

After all, he would need to escape on this thing later. Riding with someone else would just make him a bullet shield, wouldn’t it?

Vroom!!

Lin Feng twisted the throttle violently, and the motorboat shot out instantly.

“Damn!”

Thankfully, Lin Feng was wearing non-slip gloves. Otherwise, the force just now might have thrown him off.

Once he got used to it, it wasn’t too hard to handle.

Lin Feng’s speed was almost keeping up with the others.

Twenty minutes later, a cruise ship appeared in their field of vision.

“It’s that cruise ship right ahead,” said Michael. “According to our intel, it’s carrying 20 million dollars in illicit gains ready for transport.”

“Hide your guns. We’re going in quietly.”

The cruise ship sat still in the waters, the sound of a party on board booming through the night. Security was oddly lax; perhaps they thought no one would be crazy enough to rob a cruise ship.

In no time, the four men—Lin Feng, Michael, Trevor, and their companion—had reached the underside of the ship and successfully scrambled up.

“Listen up,” said Michael, straightening his suit. “We’re just tourists. Keep it casual.”

They left their diving suits on the motorboat, a precautionary measure in case they needed an underwater escape.

Once aboard, they found themselves amidst a full-blown party. Scantily clad women danced on the deck, surrounded by men cheering with drinks in hand.

“See that beauty by the pool?” Trevor said with a mischievous grin. “I’d love to fu—” He was quickly silenced by Michael.

The team split up, following their clues to find the hidden stash of money.

Lin Feng, however, decided to take a detour to the dessert table and began to happily devour a stack of cream cakes.

“Mmm, delicious,” he said, his eyes half-closed in joy. It had been a while since he’d indulged in the simple pleasure of sweet treats.

After two mini cakes, Lin Feng finally set off to find his share of the hidden money. Michael had directed him to a warehouse on the second floor. Once he located it, he found a guard posted outside, armed and alert.

But Lin Feng was confident in his combat skills. If he could sneak up on the guard, he could take him out in one hit.

With this plan in mind, Lin Feng approached the guard, drink in hand.

“Excuse me, could you tell me where the restroom is?” Lin Feng asked.

The guard, assuming Lin Feng was a guest, politely pointed out the way. As Lin Feng turned to leave, he suddenly swung around and smashed his glass on the guard’s head, followed by a swift elbow to the temple. The guard dropped, unconscious.

After confirming the guard’s death, Lin Feng dragged the body into the warehouse and tucked the man’s gun into his waistband.

“Damn it, this warehouse is huge,” he sighed. “Where do I even start?”

But as he looked around, he saw potential in the warehouse’s contents.

“Why settle for burgers,” he mumbled, “when there’s a buffet right here?”

With a grin, Lin Feng emptied his leather backpack, ready to take advantage of this unexpected windfall.

The cruise ship’s supplies all came from this warehouse. Just imagining the treasure trove within made Lin Feng’s heart race.
