Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Chapter 39 - I Hope You Really Are A Symbol Of Luck

The security guards noticed them almost immediately.

“You two! Get out of here! There are robbers up ahead!”

While shouting, the two guards rushed towards Lin Feng.

Bang! Bang!

“Nice shooting!”

Franklin praised Lin Feng after witnessing him effortlessly land two headshots.

“Alright, quickly put on their bulletproof vests. They might save our lives when things get tough.”

Lin Feng hurriedly stripped a bulletproof vest from a corpse and quickly put it on.

Due to Lin Feng’s gunfire, a dozen more security guards were dispatched.

“Here they come, they’re wearing bulletproof vests, aim for the exposed parts!”

Lin Feng hid behind a metal door and fired a few random shots. The approaching security guards were startled and quickly took cover.

Although there were a hundred security guards on the cruise ship, it was large, and almost forty guards were assigned to protect the party-goers alone.

The guests who could afford to be on this private cruise ship were pretty influential. After the gunfight began, many more guards were assigned to protect the party area.

But the party didn’t end.

So far, only four robbers had been spotted and targeted, so the partying guests remained unalerted.

“Fire! Fire! There are only two of them! Suppressive fire!”

Upon hearing the command, the security guards encircling Franklin and Lin Feng moved forward a bit. However, after Lin Feng shot and wounded one of them, the rest quickly retreated.

“Hahaha! Lin! These idiots, they’re like scared turtles!”

Franklin excitedly roared, then leaned out and fired a few shots, killing a guard.

The remaining dozen or so guards were even less willing to advance. No matter how the security captain urged them, they wouldn’t budge.

No one cared about professional spirit. If others didn’t charge, why should they?

Seeing that his words had no effect, the captain didn’t insist further and called for backup using his walkie-talkie.

As for calling the police? They hadn’t thought about it. After all, this cruise ship was loaded with a large amount of illicit money. If they called the police, the ship would undoubtedly be searched by the FIB.

So, to keep the illicit money from being exposed, they couldn’t make that emergency call.

Meanwhile, the gunfight on Michael’s side was still going on, though the pressure wasn’t as intense as before. Michael sensed something was off — had Lin and Franklin not left?

After sharing his suspicion with Trevor, the latter was obviously very excited and was clamoring to get out and show support to Lin and Franklin.

Standing up, Trevor emptied a magazine, instantly killing four security guards.

“Fuck! Have you lost your mind?!”

Michael yelled from behind cover, then also began to advance.

Trevor was a sharpshooter and had a bit of a temper, prone to becoming irritable and excited. Under these conditions, a magical reaction occurred.

He became extraordinarily brave.

In short, Trevor had a devil-may-care attitude and was ready for action.

After running out of bullets, he tossed aside his submachine gun, picked up a flamethrower from the ground, and continued to shoot, killing his way through like a god of war.

“Hahaha! You bunch of bitches! Run!”

Trevor mocked the security guards who were scared off and took cover.

“Alright, we better go save Lin and Franklin. We can’t stay on this ship any longer.”

Michael picked up a random gun and said.

“Let’s go! I respect those two for not abandoning their teammates. They’re much better than someone I know!”

The “someone” Trevor referred to was obviously Michael. However, Michael couldn’t retort because he knew he was at fault.

Lin Feng and his team were holding the upper hand in the battle so far.

Nevertheless, their foes stooped low, resorting to using a grenade launcher, forcing Lin Feng and Franklin to seek cover.

Boom!

With the aid of the grenade launcher, the security forces quickly advanced and soon had Lin Feng and Franklin cornered.

Just as they were about to be blown apart by a grenade, gunshots echoed from behind the security personnel.

On hearing the gunfire, Lin Feng peeked out and noticed it was Michael’s team drawing most of the security forces away.

Seizing this opportunity, Lin Feng and Franklin sprang into action, opening fire into the crowd.

Soon, the security forces were caught in a crossfire and sustained heavy casualties.

“Lin! Franklin, are you guys okay?”

“All good! We need to get out of here fast. I saw them pulling security from the party area; they likely plan to attack us. Franklin, have you hidden the money?”

“Ok, all set!”

“Great, let’s get outta here!”

After saying this, Michael led their retreat. Given the chaos they had caused, the party was naturally canceled, and all the guests returned to their rooms.

“Lin! Here’s a big toy for you!”

Trevor picked up a dropped grenade launcher from the ground and tossed it to Lin Feng.

It was a revolving launcher, still loaded with five grenades.

Lin Feng had about thirty more people to eliminate to complete the mission.

The successful completion of the mission now hinged on the grenade launcher.

If used correctly, it should enable him to complete the mission.

Soon, the team reached the stairs heading down to where their motorboat was docked.

“You guys go ahead, I’ll cover our retreat. Otherwise, they’ll catch up.”

Lin Feng told them, driven purely by the desire to accomplish the system’s mission. He truly coveted the Intermediate Firearms Mastery, even though not completing the mission was an option.

“What the hell! Are you insane? There are at least forty of them left!”

Franklin was the first to object, trying to drag Lin Feng away.

“Enough, you guys go. Just give me a bigger share of the money later!”

Lin Feng brushed Franklin off, and glanced at Trevor and Michael. Being seasoned veterans, they knew this wasn’t the time for sentimentality. After patting Lin Feng’s shoulder, they left with Franklin.

………..

“I hope you truly bring luck.”

Lin Feng looked at the two Luck Rings on his fingers.

Soon, the remaining security forces were in pursuit.

Without wasting time, Lin Feng launched a grenade.

The explosion sent several men flying.

The pursuers temporarily halted their chase, shouting at Lin Feng to surrender. However, Lin Feng was not about to give in.

He peeked out and fired another grenade towards the largest group of enemies.

“Damn it, can’t delay any longer.”

Lin Feng realized the enemy likely had heavy weapons, so he had to use up his grenades and flee.

As to whether he could complete the mission?

Lin Feng couldn’t guarantee that. He could only leave it to fate.

After launching the remaining three grenades, Lin Feng took advantage of the security forces’ evasion to make his escape.

Upon hearing five explosions, Lin Feng was baffled.

He hadn’t seen clearly what had happened. It seemed like two men preparing to throw grenades got blown away. And then, those two grenades rolled towards the densest crowd.

………….
