GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 1959  Bad News.

They had to use a middleman who would drop a data clip at a random location. Then they had to get someone to go to that random location to retrieve the data clip in order to avoid an ambush. Lastly, they had to inspect the data clip to make sure that there was nothing wrong about it. Only then will they dare to open it and read what's inside. This process usually takes days. So it wasn't a long time in the grand scheme of things. But compared to instantaneous communication, it was very slow. Eventually, Legion received the data clip they were waiting for.

The Monarch said, "Things are progressing too fast in God's Domain. You have grown too fast. The death of a titan at the hands of a god will put God's Domain in its later stages. That means God's Domain is about to end."

They frowned after reading this. Legion-1 said, "The angel of knowledge also said things were moving too fast. But it didn't say that God's Domain was about to end?"

Legion-9 asked, "But why does the death of an ancient Titan at the hands of a god matter? Aren't ancient titans just props in the world? Aren't they supposed to be defeated by the gods?"

It sounded unreasonable that they shouldn't defeat ancient titans. Especially when the ancient titans are growing stronger and destroying their divine cities. And especially when they already had plans in place to kill as many of them as possible next time. Fortunately, Monarch High Heaven gave them a reason. They found it when they continued to read. "The gods in God's Domain are puppets. You control them to do your bidding. The ancient titans are puppets too. Something or someone is controlling them to do their bidding."

"The God of power is using the bait of domain to keep the gods fighting and struggling against the ancient titans. When an ancient titan dies, it means he has nearly achieved his purpose for creating God's Domain. It also means you are running out of time."

"To avoid losing everything you have and your life, you either leave God's Domain soon with all the domain you have, acquire a Supreme Law, or become a Supreme God in God's Domain. Whichever decision you go with, know that you are running out of time to make it, and God's Domain can end at any time."

Legion was not pleased to hear this. They even felt like blaming the monarch for not telling them this beforehand. But that wasn't going to change anything now. The monarch finished his message with a final warning: "Take this as a warning and wrap up your affairs in the God's Domain as soon as possible. I wish you good luck."

The clones had to decide what to do next. Legion-3 said, "Becoming the Supreme God in God's Domain is out of the question. So I guess we have to just cut our losses."

Legion-7 agreed. "We haven't made our Supreme laws yet. We haven't even completed the comprehension of the Supreme law of order, so cutting off our losses is the best decision."

Legion-8 sighed and said, "I guess so. But I have a feeling that he is hiding something from us."

Legion-1 snorted and said, "Of course he is hiding something. He should have told us this earlier if he cared so much about the end of God's Domain and didn't want it to happen so soon. But he waited until we made the one blunder that would put an end to our foray in God's Domain."

Legion-9 continued, "But even if we know he is hiding something, we can't take the risk of dying permanently. The god of power and his ten billion Authority of the Void Universe, or the Void Universe itself, are entities that can kill all nine of us at once."

Legion-1 agreed. "This goes to show that Monarch High Heaven is not our friend. In fact, he is not even our partner. We are just tools to him. When he is done using us, I'm sure he will try to get rid of us."

Legion-5 shook his head and said, "Forget about when he is done using us. I'm sure he will be hoping for us to be eliminated or crippled when he is using us against the god of power. But we will show him that he has underestimated us."

They discussed some more, but Legion-2 and Legion-4 didn't join this discussion. The two of them haven't spoken for more than a hundred years now.

Their silence began when they decided to comprehend the Supreme Law of Order. The two of them have been focused ever since on comprehending that Supreme law. They have been too focused to be able to talk. In fact, the majority of the mental power of all of Legion is used for the comprehension.

The others can still talk, but Legion-4 can't because he is too busy being their access point to the Supreme Law, and Legion-2 is completely preoccupied with using his concept.

Thanks to their total concentration for these past hundred years, they are more than 55% done with comprehending the Supreme law.

This is another reason why they can't try to get the Supreme Authority of God's Domain. They had been Celestials only recently, but they knew it was going to be the end of the path for them since they would need to comprehend the laws of God's Domain in order to acquire the Supreme Authority. Not only are they too busy with the Supreme Law of Order, but they also don't dare to try and comprehend the derivative laws of the Supreme Law of the Monarch of High Heaven.

They don't trust him at all. Even if they do, it would be folly to comprehend his Supreme Law, as it would put them in a vulnerable position for attacks. Not even the temptation that they could bring their three powerful artifacts out into the void universe as world fragments was enough to tempt them to attempt that folly.
