Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Hestia's Plan to Create That Child! The Unambitious Humans of the Golden Age!
Demeter had left.
But...
"Hehehe~~~"
Hestia sat on the throne, hugging her knees, her expression full of joy and mischief. She muttered to herself, "As I expected, when it comes to the responsibilities and duties of the Lord of the Underworld, Demeter could never refuse."
"But the question remains."
"What will come of this?"
"Hehehe~~~"
Hestia was genuinely pleased. This object had always been in the Underworld, but Hades wasn't particularly interested in it. After obtaining it, Hestia pondered how best to use it.
In the end, Hestia decided to give it to Demeter.
As for whether Demeter would refuse? Impossible! In the Celestial Realm, there was no such thing as sentiment; everything was driven by benefits and abilities.
In the Underworld, Hades ruled over all the Underworld gods.
Although the Underworld gods were divided into three types—Mephistopheles, the Seventy-Two Pillars of Demons, and the offspring of Erebus and Nyx—Mephistopheles largely ignored everything, focusing solely on cultivation or making contracts with humans on Earth who had special souls.
The Seventy-Two Pillars of Demons, as the core pillars of the Underworld, were either devoted to rigorous cultivation or busy studying the small worlds within their pillars, their activities a mystery to others.
In practice, the primary workforce under Hades' command consisted mainly of the Underworld gods led by the twin gods Hypnos and Thanatos.
As a result, despite Hypnos receiving blessings and driving fierce competition among the Underworld gods, there was no internal conflict within the Underworld.
The situation under Zeus in the Celestial Realm was entirely different.
Zeus had little regard for weak subordinate gods, considering them insignificant.
This was Zeus' nature. Although Demeter and Hera had allied themselves with him, only Hera, with Eris' assistance, was gradually climbing in rank, and had even begun to clash with Metis. Demeter, however, remained ordinary. Although the divine power of the Titan Gods was central, Demeter's personality and abilities were merely average.
Because of this, Demeter's status wasn't high. Although she knew that Hestia's gift of the Lord of the Underworld's responsibilities and duties came with strings attached, she still accepted it.
But Demeter didn't care. Regardless, it was something she had to take.
"However!"
Hestia whispered to herself, "It still feels like something is missing. Where can I find that missing piece?"
Soon after, Hestia returned to the Underworld and to the Pure Land of Bliss. She approached Hades and softly called, "Hades, Hades."
Hades allowed his sister to address him directly by name when no other Underworld gods were present.
Hades slowly opened his eyes and said calmly, "Sister, what is it?"
"Hades," Hestia asked curiously, "Do you have the 'Goodness of the Gods' and the 'Evil of Humanity'?"
"The Goodness of the Gods."
"The Evil of Humanity."
Hades looked at his sister, his divine sense quickly revealing what she had just done. He raised his hand, and a wisp of dark human evil and golden divine goodness intertwined.
Hades said calmly, "Sister, I have them here, but this is only a small portion. I can't give you most of it."
"No problem."
Hestia smiled sweetly and said, "This bit is enough. I'm off! I can't wait for the birth of that child!"
Hestia happily ran off.
Hades watched her leave and softly murmured, "So that child will be born this way. Well, it's not important. With Eris watching, nothing will go wrong."
Hades withdrew his thoughts and closed his eyes again, continuing his meditation and research on what should happen in the upcoming era of humanity.
The First Apocalypse!
In fact, it was fast approaching.
Or rather, after 600,000 years had passed and the three kings gathered again, that would mark the beginning of the First Apocalypse.
The humans of the Golden Age would soon exit the stage of the Earthly Realm.
Before that...
Hades had a few matters to address with these humans of the Golden Age.
To be precise, the humans of the Golden Age were born of nature. They were naturally created beings who represented the prosperity of the divine era. These humans were unique.
Because of this, Hades had some plans for these humans. However, there was one problem with them.
That is, the humans of the Golden Age lacked hearts—more accurately, they lacked ambition. Such humans would naturally be eliminated.
After all, as the future progresses, it would transition into the Age of Heroes, and after further progression, into the Age of Humanity. These humans, who were born with great divine power and talent but lacked ambition, were not suited for the future.
"Cerberus."
"Ceryx."
"Eurynomos."
"Kara."
Hades opened his eyes again and slowly uttered four names.
"Lord Hades!"
Four Titan-level Underworld gods promptly arrived at the Pure Land of Bliss. Dressed in divine robes, they knelt respectfully, their eyes filled with endless reverence.
Hades spoke quietly, "Handle the area around the Temple of the Underworld. I want you to create a group of humans from the Golden Age who are filled with ambition and constantly strive for more."
"Yes, my lord!"
The four Underworld gods retreated with reverence.
As for whether these four gods could accomplish the task? That was a given. If they couldn't handle such a simple task, they might as well end their own lives out of sheer embarrassment. It was such a simple task!
