I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 442: Chapter 442 What Is Moses Planning?

Regarding the Post-Mortem Nen that permeates the depths of the tomb...

Heram had tried exorcising it, but failed.

This made him realize that short-term methods couldn't eliminate the Post-Mortem Nen within the tomb. And to fully exorcise it, several days or even a week would be needed.

However, the sudden attack by the Erimo Bandit Group left Heram with no time to worry about the Post-Mortem Nen that needed to be suppressed and eliminated.

And now, this unnoticed Post-Mortem Nen seemed to be stimulated by Heram's Nen and was growing at a very fast speed.

Under the influence of this Post-Mortem Nen, countless bones buried here began to break away from the endless trench built around the Underworld Palace, and soon came to the massive platform in front of the entrance.

There was cloud-like black Nen flowing on the surface and inside of the bones, giving off a dangerous Aura.

Clack, clack-

This enormous bone mass seemed to have intelligence and tried to squeeze through the stone gate leading to the corridor.

However, the stone gate, which is large enough for six or seven people to pass through simultaneously, appeared as a tiny doorway compared to its size, making it impossible to get through.

The pile of bones collided with the stone gate and the surrounding rock walls, producing a series of crisp, echoing sounds.

Perhaps realizing that it couldn't pass through the gate, the bone mass gradually stopped moving.

If it had eyes, it would surely be staring at the gate at this moment.

In fact-

The reason why the bone mass wanted to leave here through the stone gate was because it was attracted by the Nen fluctuations outside.

The Nen Heram had poured onto it earlier only provided temporary suppression.

Afterwards, this Nen that contained the Nen Exorcism Ability actually became fuel, helping it grow stronger.

Having tasted this power, the bone mass naturally wanted more.

However, given its current structure and size, it is impossible for it to pass through the corridor and escape outside.

The bone mass stood silently before the stone gate.

Moments later-

A leg bone fell from its surface, dropping to the ground with a crisp sound.

Immediately afterwards, a pelvis fell, landing beside the leg bone.

As if triggering a chain reaction, more and more bones began to fall from its body. Guided by invisible Nen, these bones from various parts merged randomly into human-sized figures.

Then.

On the platform before the corridor, grotesque skeletal figures began to emerge.

Some had a pelvis on top of their head, while others had a skull as their foot.

Among these deformed skeletons, it was common to see arms and legs switched in place.

They looked like a collection of mismatched parts glued together by invisible hands, with no regard for 'proper structure'.

As more and more grotesque skeletons gathered on the platform, the giant bone mass standing before the corridor gradually shrank.

In this way, these skeletons, controlled by the Post-Mortem Nen, would be able to pass through the corridor and leave the tomb.

From this point of view, it seemed the Post-Mortem Nen contained the most basic form of independent thought.

Meanwhile…

Outside, the rain showed no signs of letting up.

The camp was lit by searchlights, casting light into every corner. Among the many gathered, Moses and Miro stood dozens of meters apart, staring at each other.

Moses remained calm, and his Nen was very stable.

Miro, on the other hand, did not conceal his cold murderous intent, and the Nen around him surged back and forth like a raging torrent.

To others watching, it appeared as a stark contrast… one calm, the other in motion.

A tense atmosphere quietly spread, and the battle seemed on the verge of breaking out.

Before taking action, Miro carefully assessed the positions and distances of everyone around him.

It wasn't to escape, nor to guard against potential ambushes.

Given the current situation, he knew that death was inevitable.

But before he met his end, perhaps he could drag Moses into hell with him.

In order to increase his chances of success, he had to consider the possibility that others might intervene to save Moses and make preparations in advance.

As he scanned the onlookers, he realized they seemed perfectly content leaving this final showdown to Moses.

'You will regret this!'

Miro exuded murderous intent, his fierce and cold eyes pointed fixed on Moses, and he shouted in his heart in near-madness.

Moses calmly endured Miro's near-crazed killing intent.

The desperation of a cornered beast… this was the true state of the man standing before him.

Moses knew better than to underestimate a seasoned Nen User teetering on the edge of madness, aware that death was inescapable.

However-

There is a balance between what one pays and what one gains.

Only by going through a life-and-death battle that one earns the right to reap rewards.

The truth has always been this.

'This time, I'm not craving for a reward.'

Moses gazed steadily at Miro, silently mobilized his Nen, and murmured to himself in his heart: 'I just want to see how far I can go.'

As such thought floating in his mind, Moses suddenly moved, bringing with him the wind and rain as he charged directly at Miro.

There was no strategy, no technique.

He merely covered himself completely in Nen and attacked his enemy in a straight line.

"The name given by others, Spider Slayer..."

Miro's neck veins suddenly bulged, and he shouted with a ferocious look on his face: " Does something like this make you so complacent?!!!"

His loud shout instantly covered up the sound of rain, as well as the Aura and fluctuations when his ability was activated.

[Shape of Sound: Raging Waves]

The final note of Miro's roar surged like his raging Nen, without targeting any specific area.

However, along with the furious roar, a number of Nen Arrows as thick as index fingers shot forward from in front of him.

Each Nen Arrow glowed faintly with white light, easily piercing through the rain as they flew directly toward Moses.

"Good."

Moses ignored Miro's shouting, his eyes flashing as he manifested a black sword in his hand. With a swift movement, he stopped in his tracks and unleashed a flurry of sword strikes.

The incoming Nen Arrows collided with the light from his sword slashes, instantly disintegrating into countless glowing fragments.

Though the Nen Arrows appeared to be numerous and unceasing, Moses's slashing speed was so fast that he wove an impenetrable barrier of swordlight in front of him, blocking every incoming arrow.

Although he could fend off the barrage of arrows, Moses was unable to advance further.

This scene was seen by Heram, Satotz and Quinn, and their conclusion was that Moses had been suppressed by Miro's overwhelming Emission-Type assault.

However, when Menchi and Shizuku saw this scene in the dark, their first reaction was not that Moses was being suppressed. Instead, they thought that Moses must be planning something.

This was the difference between those who knew Moses and those who didn't.

Outsiders like Heram and the others, who are not familiar with Moses, will simply assume that Moses is being suppressed.

But those who knew Moses, like Shizuku and Menchi, were already considering what kind of unexpected trick Moses might be preparing.

For example, using his shadow to quietly circle behind Miro...
