Chapter 215: Chapter 213: Talking To Peter

"Tsk, where the hell is he? Jean said he should be here." Muttered Tut in annoyance as he flew around the bridge, using his vision to see through it while occasionally waving at the people below.

I flew around the bridge once more, ensuring I wasn't somehow missing him before I eventually sighed as I flew off towards the nearby docks where Carol was sitting atop a crane. She offered to help and decided to check the nearby area after arriving, which was smart since Pete wasn't where he should be, but it seemed she had failed to find him as well.

"No luck?" "No, nothing." Said Carol and Tut, respectively, as the former scooted to the left, though the latter didn't bother sitting.

"You can't hear him, Pharaoh?" "I can hear everything; the problem is trying to distinguish him from everything else, and if he doesn't talk, it'll be next to impossible." Remarked Carol and Tut, respectively, as the latter rubbed his head in frustration before turning and looking at Brooklyn, his eyes scanning every street for Peter.

Clicking my tongue, I shifted my gaze back to Queens and Manhattan; Peter couldn't have gotten too far so he must still be in New York, and if he wants revenge, he won't be leaving.

"Listen, I appreciate your help, Carol, but you don't have to be here. I'm sure there are other things you would like to do; after all, you haven't been able to relax because of me ever since you got here." Said Tut as he glanced at Carol, who wryly chuckled before shaking her head while aggressively slapping his back.

"You're not wrong, but I can't leave now that I know what's happening; I'll feel guilty. Besides, what happened with Apocalypse wasn't your fault… Fuck man, your back is hella stiff." Replied Carol lightly as she floated beside Tut, who faintly smiled, while she blew on her hand before eyeing his back in annoyance.

"I appreciate it, Carol." Said Tut gratefully as he looked at Carol, who dismissively waved her hand

"Ah, no worries, Pharaoh. I know you'll help me in the future if I ever need it. Though I doubt I will, Captain Marvel isn't a bitch… Now, c'mon, let's find your friend." Remarked Carol with a faint smile as she playfully punched Tut's chest before flexing her muscles, uplifting his mood while he nodded.

"So, do you have any idea where Peter would be? Like a secret hideout or base?" Added Carol curiously as she and Tut slowly flew across the river beside the bridge, approaching Manhattan.

"A secret base? Yeah, actually, he does have one… Could I borrow your phone?" Replied Tut with a raised eyebrow before nodding as he glanced at Carol, who pulled open the collar of her suit, partially revealing her cleavage.

"You don't keep your phone on you?" Asked Carol as she removed her phone from her cleavage before handing it to Tut, who outstretched his arms.

"Where would I place it? This suit doesn't have pockets, nor do I have breasts. Anyways, what was Gwen's number again?" Said Tut as he gave Carol a blank look, only to quickly dial Gwen's number before placing the warm phone against his ear.

"Gwen Stacy, who is this?" "It's me, Pharaoh. Hey, I'm out in Manhattan right now. Do you think you could head to Pete's train base? He might visit." Said Gwen and Tut, respectively, as the latter turned around and looked at Queens.

"Hey, wait, that friend of yours can find Peter, right? Why don't you just ask her instead?" Remarked Carol lightly, her words causing Tut to nod as he rubbed his face.

"Haa, I'm fucking out of it right now… Scratch that, Gwen. Can you just ask Jean where he is?" "I'm already ahead of you, Tut." Said Tut and Gwen, respectively, as the former rubbed in eyes from lack of focus while the latter was looking at awaiting her response.

"Um, Pharaoh, you better hurry… Peter has already found the killer." Stated Gwen anxiously, her words surprising Tut as he stopped flying before searching for Peter's voice.

"Where is he?" "By the race track in Queens." Said Tut and Gwen, respectively, as the former furrowed his brows before suddenly shooting off towards Queens, followed by Carol.

Ending the call, I tossed Carol her phone and came to a halt above the only race track in Queens; scanning the entire city, I searched every building, looking for Peter, and after several seconds and thousands of different buildings, I finally found him.

"H-Hey kid, h-help! I-I'm going to fall!" Yelled a gruff-looking man with a scar across his cheek as he looked at Peter while hanging from the top of a five-story building.

"C-C'mon kid! Help me! You took care of this chasing cops to help me, right? C'mon kid!" Yelled the gruff-looking man as he eyed Peter, who had webbed three cops to the wall.

As I approached the man, his growing smile, looking at me as if I was his savior, pissed me off to no end. You can't act like a victim after the atrocities you've committed!

Reaching down, I let the man grab my hand as I effortlessly lifted him in the air; though I didn't help him onto the roof, no, I left him dangling above the ground, which was near a sixty-foot drop.

"H-Hey kid, w-what the hell– A-Argh, m-my hand! Y-You're crushing it!" Said the gruff-looking man as he glared at Peter, only to suddenly grunt in pain while grabbing his wrist.

Reaching into my pocket, I grabbed my wallet and opened it as I showed it to the man. It took him a moment to notice it since he was dealing with the pain of his hand, but when he finally saw the picture, his pupils dilated, and he showed fear on his face.

He didn't say anything, but he didn't need to; his lips quivered in fear, the drop of his arm, the nervous gulping, the rapid beating of his heart, the rise in his body temperature, the shakiness of his eyes… it was as clear as day he was the one I was looking for.

"WHY!?" Yelled Peter furiously as he subconsciously crushed the man's hand, causing him to roar in pain.

"ARGH! I-I d-didn't know! I-I'm sorry! J-Just don't drop me!" Said the man through his wails of pain while looking at Peter, who was gnashing his teeth, only for a gust of wind to suddenly hit them both.

"Pete, this isn't like you." Said Tut with a slight frown as he floated a few feet behind Peter, who clenched his fist, deforming his wallet while the man quietly grunted in pain.

"H-He killed him, Pharaoh. H-He killed Uncle Ben." Stated Peter through gritted teeth and teary eyes as he glared at the man while Tut nodded.

"I know Pete… I'm sorry I couldn't save him." Said Tut softly as he approached Peter before patting his shoulder, causing him to sniffle while shaking his head.

"No, you don't need to feel sorry; it's not your fault… it's his." Said Peter softly as he glanced at Tut with a forced smile which quickly descended into a scowl when he looked at the man.

"You're right. It is his fault. But this isn't what Mr. Parker would've wanted. This wasn't how he raised you. I should know; I've been your friend for as long as I can remember. He would've told you there was another way." Stated Tut solemnly as he glared at the man, who shivered in fear, only for him to switch his focus to Peter, who bit his lip hard enough for it to bleed.

"I know. But does it matter anymore? He will never get that chance to because of him." Said Peter angrily as he eyed the man, who was flailing while the wind ever-so faintly pushed him.

"Maybe. But do you think you could live the rest of your life knowing Mr. Parker will forgive be disappointed in you? Because I know I couldn't. Trying to live my life knowing my Dad was forever disappointed in me? Heh, it would eat me alive eventually." Remarked Tut lightly as he glanced at the man before walking around Peter, standing on the otherwise while somewhat lowering his arm.

"What about Aunt May? Do you think you could come home and look her in the eyes after taking a life? I'll tell you in advance, it's nothing special. You won't suddenly feel happy or satisfied; hell, you might even feel a little sad." Added Tut with a slight frown as he leaned against the air while glancing at Peter, who furrowed his brows before raising his head.

"You killed someone?" Asked Peter hesitantly as he glanced at Tut, who sighed before nodding.

"Nam-ek… One of the three Kryptonians that invaded. I didn't exactly like it, as it could've been avoided, but he refused to surrender, and I knew there was nowhere to hold him prisoner… It was the only way I could think of." Replied Tut with a slightly annoyed expression, his words surprising Peter.

"W-What about the man who killed your father? A-After all these years, you didn't get your revenge?" Asked Peter with widened eyes as he looked at Tut, who clicked his tongue before shaking his head.

"No. I did meet him and had a bit of a talk with him, but I didn't kill him. He's currently working as a receptionist for Frost Technologies in Massachusetts." Said Pharaoh softly with an irritated expression as he clenched his fist in anger, only to softly sigh.
