Chapter 62.1 - A Date Filled with Obstacles
Bee-bee-bee-beep! Bee-bee-bee-beep!
“Mmm…haaa!”
As soon as I opened my eyes, I sprang up quickly, like the old me who would wake up after a quick two-hour nap following an evening shift at the convenience store, only to go straight to loading and unloading work. Of course, it wasn’t an easy thing, nor was I in any condition to do so, but I got up in one go.
It was about 6 o’clock. I still had plenty of time before I needed to go out, but I moved briskly. My weak body and the considerable weight slowed me down, but I pushed through and went straight to the bathroom.
“Uuuu…”
With my wet hair loosely wrapped in a towel and a toothbrush in my mouth, I roamed around the house in just my underwear, throwing all the clothes from my closet onto the bed before heading back to the bathroom.
While I rinsed the minty taste lingering in my mouth a few times, I noticed in the mirror a strange yet beautiful woman with more exposed skin than clothing. I didn’t have time to dwell on this. It was something I never could have imagined before, but since something I had only dreamed of was approaching, I hurried.
“Hmm… What should I wear?”
“This one.”
I felt someone’s hand on my waist, and a graceful hand stretched out from the side.
“Whoa… When did you get here?”
“When you were debating. So, how about this one?”
Minyoung wrapped her arm around my waist, meeting my gaze while holding the clothes against my body and looking me up and down from head to toe. I felt a slight massage on my waist, but my focus was entirely on the clothes I’d soon be wearing.
The clothes she picked were a dress with an eye-catching checkered pattern. It looked like something to wear over another outfit since it was just a skirt with a top only covering the chest.
“Does this suit me…?”
“Honestly, anything would, but yeah, it’ll look good. First… this, this… this, and… this.”
Finally, she removed her hand from my waist and threw a variety of clothes at me. Caught off guard by their enthusiasm, I tried on the outfits.
“D-Does it look good on me…?”
“…”
After I’d awkwardly dressed up and asked, she silently took out their phone.
Cha-cha-cha-click-click-click-click!
“Unnie, tilt your waist slightly and brush your hair behind your ear.”
“H-Huh…? L-Like this?”
I awkwardly followed her instructions, and she knelt down to take multiple photos in rapid succession. For several minutes, I became her plaything.
“…Thank you for the meal, Strawberry!”
After lying back on the floor again, she muttered something strange, hugged Strawberry, who waddled over as if just waking up, and checked her phone.
“Haa…haa… Is… that all?”
The time had already passed 8 o’clock. Our meeting time was at 10, and we’d agreed to meet at a café. I’d have to leave by 9 since it would take a little over 30 minutes if I avoided shortcuts to avoid ruining my clothes. I prepared breakfast for Strawberry, Minyoung, and Eunah unnie, who’d joined them in taking photos, and then I ate a light breakfast myself.
After a chaotic morning, I tidied my hair in the mirror, said goodbye to my sibling lying on my bed with her phone and Eunah unnie, who was having a staring contest with Strawberry over a cup of coffee, and left the house.

Eunah POV
When Su-yeon came to wake me today, I had one thought.
Damn, she’s so pretty.
Her white hair was shinier than usual, her eyes more striking, and her voice that woke me was clearer and more melodic than yesterday. Su-yeon looked her best. And on top of that, she wore an outfit that suited her disgustingly well. It was a plain white T-shirt, but paired with the checkered dress, it accentuated her figure. Her fair skin stood out even more against the slightly darker dress, and the pink hairpin in her hair was small but had a definite presence.
“Hey, are you coming with us?”
I was glaring at the small, white furball that was still eyeing me with suspicion, and then Minyoung, Su-yeon’s sibling, emerged from the room, dressed in what seemed to be Su-yeon’s clothes, judging by the loose fit around the chest. When I asked, Minyoung flinched for a moment, then nodded slowly.
“Really? Then I’m coming too.”
“What?”
“Why, I want in on the fun. I’ll go change, so wait on the first floor.”
I hurriedly took small, quick steps back to the house.
“Fine…”
“Okay….”
Minyoung looked somewhat disappointed as she put her phone away and started walking.
“…”
“…”
What’s with this? Does she hate me?
Minyoung didn’t say a word to me as we walked. Since she was leading, I followed, though I had no idea where we were going. If we continued for another ten minutes, we’d reach the café where Su-yeon and Aro work. Ignoring the cold, awkward atmosphere, I opened my mouth.
“Hey, are we going to the café?”
“…Yes.”
“Follow me.”
I turned and entered a narrow alley. I heard her mutter something behind me, but I ignored it and kept walking.
“Here we are.”
The shortcut ended in an alley a few blocks from the café. When I looked back, Minyoung was staring at me in shock. I chuckled and lifted my cap slightly.
“…It’s a perfect day for a date… even if I don’t have someone to go with.”
“…”
The weather was clear. Spring flowers were starting to bloom along the road, and a warm breeze was blowing. Though petals of cherry blossoms long past their prime scattered on the ground, I entered the café, eager to see something more entertaining.
“…”
“Hey, why don’t you greet your customer?”
“…Ugh… I was up editing until dawn.”
“Ah~ Shut up and take my order, Aro.”
“…”
Aro gave me a cold stare from behind the counter, but I ignored him and placed my order.
“Hmm… What should I get… Chocolate chip cookies, vanilla bean cream frappuccino with low-fat milk, large size, add a little honey, frappuccino chips, no ice, lots of unfermented cream, and make it at 33 degrees. For here.”
“…”
“What are you getting?”
I looked at Minyoung, who seemed to be staring at me like I was trash, and she just ordered a vanilla latte. Ignoring Aro’s complicated expression, I found a seat by the window.
“…Poor guy.”
Minyoung muttered, watching Aro complain to the manager.
“It’s fine, it’s fine~ He’s my friend.”
So I waited a while for our order to arrive.
“They’re here.”
Minyoung, sipping her vanilla latte, glanced towards the entrance. Noticing the commotion, I pressed my cap lower and angled my seat slightly.
“Hello..! Umm… Can I order when my friend arrives? Thank you, Aro!”
With the sound of light footsteps and camera shutters, Su-yeon took a seat near the café entrance. She was fiddling with her hair while staring at her phone, which she usually doesn’t even look at much. I could tell she was serious about today.
“…When were you supposed to meet?”
Su-yeon was a punctual person. Normally, she’d arrive at least 15 minutes early, so in an event like this, who knew when she’d actually arrive?
“…10 o’clock.”
“Hmm.”
It was 9:50 now. We might’ve caused a bit of chaos in the morning, but it seemed something else had delayed her on the way.
Yet, Chocoa hadn’t arrived even by 10:20.

Lee Suyeon POV
“Hmph~ Hmm~”
Thinking that I’d soon meet Chocoa, I quickened my pace.
“Uh… Excuse me…”
“Yes?”
It was already the fourth time someone had tried to talk to me. Though it wasn’t as intense as April Fool’s Day, I’d been approached by quite a few people during my 20-minute walk. I tried to ignore this latest one, but something blocked my way.
“…Oh…”
“W-Would you be interested?”
Behind the man who was trying to talk to me was a large gift shop. When I looked past him, he seemed to misunderstand, thinking I was looking at him, and approached more assertively. But I brushed him off with an apology and entered the shop.
“This was here…”
Inside, I saw a large interior fitting for its size. Judging by the scent of a new building and the “Grand Opening!” posters everywhere, it seemed to have opened recently.
“50% off…”
The poster advertised an eye-catching discount, and I was drawn further inside.
“Welcome, customer!”
As I entered, a few staff members in neat uniforms approached me.
“Are you looking for anything specific?”
“Oh…um… It’s for a gift…”
“For a partner?”
“Th-That’s…!!…”
I simply blushed and nodded without saying a word.
Leaving the stunned employees behind, I headed back to the café with a small paper bag. Inside it was a white hairpin and a heart-shaped necklace.
I arrived at the café in quick strides to make up for the time spent. I didn’t want to sweat, so I maintained a steady pace until I reached Aro, who looked like he’d lived through it all.
“Hello..! Umm… Can I order when my friend arrives?”
Since Aro was at the counter, it was a slightly bold request, but he checked with the manager and got permission. I thanked him and took a seat by the entrance.
“Phew…”
I fanned myself a bit to cool down, fixed my slightly messy hair while glancing at my phone camera, and waited.
And so, 30 minutes passed.
