My Gorgeous Lady Boss

Chapter 45: Identity Issue

Jenny's words made Jaden's heart skip a beat. Though he had already reminded Luna to make arrangements for his identity, he hadn't expected things to escalate so quickly.

Jaden knew very well that Luna had probably not sorted out his identity issues yet. If he followed Jenny's suggestion now, it would definitely expose something, so he needed a good excuse to avoid it.

"The company is not far, but today's not a good time to take you there," Jaden said with a hint of apology.

"Not convenient? What, are you afraid your employees will misunderstand?" Jenny blinked her big eyes, smiling as she asked.

"It's not that... The company is kind of chaotic right now, and everyone is busy, so there's probably no one around to greet you," Jaden hesitated slightly, struggling to come up with a perfect excuse.

Jenny caught the brief hesitation in his response and, though she hid the doubt in her eyes, pretended not to notice. "Oh, I see. Well, never mind. Can we go another day when you're free?"

"Yes, of course. I'm really sorry," Jaden quickly nodded, grateful for the chance to deflect.

An awkward silence fell between them. What seemed like a small matter made both of them reflect, and the atmosphere grew a little strained.

Jaden began to feel uneasy, sensing the suspicion in Jenny's eyes. He pulled out his phone, glanced at the time, and then apologetically said, "Sorry, but I need to go. Time's up."

"So soon?" Jenny was surprised.

"Yeah, I still have some things to take care of. As a boss, I can slack off a little, but I can't go too far. Gotta keep up appearances for the employees," Jaden smiled as he explained. He quickly gathered his things and prepared to leave.

Jenny didn't follow him out. They had been sitting by the window, and now she stared out, watching as Jaden drove away. A faint frown appeared on her face, signaling some deep thoughts.

Once in the car, Jaden immediately called Luna. His instincts told him that Jenny might be getting suspicious, and he needed to resolve this before it got any worse.

"Hey, boss, about the identity arrangement you were supposed to help with, how's it going?" Jaden got straight to the point.

"What's the rush? Did something happen?" Luna quickly picked up on the issue.

"Yeah, Jenny's probably getting suspicious. She insisted on visiting my company today, but I made up an excuse. I think she's already starting to doubt things," Jaden explained.

"I see… Alright, come pick me up. I'll take care of it right away!" Luna responded decisively.

Jaden hung up the phone, surprised. Had she already arranged his identity issue? So soon?

He quickly drove to Luna's building and, following her lead, arrived at a company called "Zhanyang International Trading."

Without asking too many questions, Jaden followed Luna into the company.

As soon as they entered, Luna seemed like a completely different person - she exuded an air of professionalism and confidence.

Employees they passed greeted her politely as "Ms President" and then curiously eyed Jaden.

They walked into a modest but stylish office. Luna naturally took her seat behind the boss's desk, her expression turning serious as she looked at Jaden and said, "This company is mine. Now I'm arranging it for you to use."

"So, what's your plan? Is this the place you were thinking of having me work at?" Jaden asked, a little curious as he looked around.

"Yes, I was planning to arrange things through your supposed job here, but this came up sooner than I expected. Here, take a look at these." Luna pulled out some documents.

Jaden glanced at them; they were papers regarding the company's ownership and assets.

"Wait, are you planning to actually transfer the company to me just to help you with this task?" Jaden asked, surprised.

"Of course not. These documents are all forged. Once we add a copy of your ID, everything will be fine. As long as no one from the business administration checks thoroughly, there won't be any problems! When you brought this up before, I'd already made some preparations. The next step is just for you to get familiar with the staff," Luna shook her head.

"Alright, I'll follow your lead," Jaden nodded.

"Now, come with me. We need to hurry up and get you familiar with the staff. Try to learn everyone's name," Luna said as she walked out of the office, signaling an employee to gather everyone.

Soon, about fifty employees filled the lobby. The company seemed to be fairly large.

"Listen up, everyone. Due to personal reasons, I need your help. From now on, this man, Mr. Yan, will be your boss. You must follow his orders, though I'm still your boss too. However, when he's around, I won't be present," Luna announced, causing a wave of murmurs among the employees.

One bold employee raised their hand and asked, "Ms President, are you transferring the company?"

"No, the company and all its rights are still mine. Don't worry, things might be a little tough right now, but I won't let any of you suffer. I just need you to help me with a personal matter. Also, remember this: if anyone asks, you must say Mr. Yan is your boss. As for who was before him, you don't know. Once you're hired, he's your boss. Got it?" Luna emphasized.

"So, you want us to lie to outsiders and say Mr. Yan was always our boss?" a female employee asked for clarification.

"It's not lying, it's just part of the act. It's for my personal needs. Please understand," Luna nodded.

"Understood. So, for company matters, should we approach him or you?" another employee asked.

"For major issues, contact me, but if Mr. Yan's in the company, ask him for everything," Luna answered after a brief pause.

It was a bit risky, and she glanced at Jaden, unsure if he could handle this well.

"Got it. So, is this how things will be going forward?" someone asked from the back.

Luna looked at Jaden, signaling for him to answer.

"Don't worry. The company's fine. You have a good boss, and the company will thrive again. I'm only here because of a small matter, and it won't affect your work. However, this matter is very important, so I need your cooperation. Once I'm in the company, don't forget what President Zhou said earlier. I am your boss now, and we can't slip up! It'll take at least a week or maybe a half-month, and then President Zhou will announce the conclusion," Jaden smiled, responding confidently. He wasn't at all nervous with everyone watching him and even helped Luna explain things.

His calm demeanor made Luna appreciate him even more, and she couldn't help but glance at him a bit longer.
