-------------------------------------------------------------

Itachi sometimes finds it hard to express himself, keeping many things to himself.

That's why he has hesitated for so long, though fortunately, Kazuki has a strong enough intuition to bring it up first.

"Genjutsu?"

"Kid, you've really asked the right person. In the entire Uchiha clan, who would dare say their genjutsu is better than the captain's?"

Jiro grinned, though his smile looked a bit intimidating because of his fierce appearance. Even now, he can't resist taking a jab at Shisui — classic Uchiha Jiro.

Jiro and Shisui have always been rivals, and Kazuki isn't interested in their petty grievances. Even if one were to back down, the other likely wouldn't accept it, so this feud might just continue indefinitely.

"As for genjutsu…."

Kazuki spun the kunai in his hand, thinking for a moment before saying to Itachi.

"To be honest, this is a tricky question. Both Shisui and I are skilled in genjutsu, but we have different styles. Shisui's genjutsu is nearly impossible to guard against. Anyone fighting him has to constantly be on guard, or they'll fall into his trap in an instant. Shisui also knows how to play to his strengths, using various tactics to distract his enemies during a fight, like his Body Flicker. All in all, Shisui is a true genjutsu master. He's skilled in many types of genjutsu, and I can't compare to that level of talent."

Kazuki's words weren't about praising Shisui or putting himself down; it was simply the truth. He fully acknowledges Shisui's genjutsu abilities.

"Although I don't know as many genjutsu techniques, each one I use is unique and effective. While Shisui is well-rounded, I am specialized. I may not have many techniques, but each one can be a real headache for my opponents. Itachi, no one is perfect, nor can anyone be a perfect replica of someone else. While Shisui is an excellent teacher and has had a big influence on you, you need to find your own unique strengths and style."

"You can learn from others, but don't just copy them, as that will limit your potential."

Find my own style and strengths… is the captain telling me to forge my own path?

"Oh, and remind the people in charge of supplies that our dear Lord Danzo is in a bad mood, meaning his appetite's not great. No need to prepare so much food for him; it'd only be a waste. It's village funds that pay for that food, after all — such a waste would be a shame."

Not eating, huh?

Then I'll make sure you don't even have rice balls to eat.

And as for soup, forget about it. You don't deserve it.

Kazuki began working on his little project, positioning clan members right outside the cell door, chatting and laughing just loud enough to make sure Danzo couldn't rest.

When dinner came, Kazuki once again dumped all the food, leaving only two rice balls.

However, Danzo had no intention of eating them.

And so, he held out the entire day.

"Hmph."

The next day, Kazuki left another rice ball for him. Danzo just gave a cold snort, still refusing to turn around, so Kazuki took away the rice ball and left him with just a military ration pill.

You want high-quality food? Fine, then live off these ration pills from now on.

I'll cover the cost, consider it my treat.

Kazuki was curious to see how long Danzo could last.

A person can survive about seven days without food and only three days without water.

With a ninja's chakra-enhanced endurance, he could hold out longer, but eventually, he'd have to eat, or his body wouldn't hold up.

Another day went by with constant chatter around Danzo, denying him even a moment of peace.

Even at night, Kazuki wouldn't let him rest, having people sneak up occasionally to tap on the iron bars with kunai, creating a steady stream of noise.

"Captain, are you sure this is safe? The old guy's starting to look really bad."

By the third day, Jiro was getting worried.

Danzo hadn't eaten for two days, and combined with the lack of rest, he was starting to look quite haggard. Not eating for two days isn't too serious, but the lack of rest is what's taking the biggest toll.

After all, Danzo's not young anymore.

"We gave him food, if he doesn't eat it, who's to blame?"

Kazuki looked at the ration pill left on the platform and sneered.

"Let him tough it out. Danzo's always so good at wearing others down, so let's see how long he can endure it himself."

Worried that Danzo might starve?

Hah! If he starves, I couldn't care less. At most, I'll write a report. Let's see how long Danzo can hold out.

Kazuki instructed Jiro to keep banging on the cell bars, laughing as he gave the bars a few more kicks.

Inside the cell, Danzo opened his eyes, his fierce gaze locking onto Jiro.

But that glare didn't work on someone as tough as Jiro. Not only was he unphased, he even grinned back at Danzo.

"I'll be back in a bit."

Creating random noises at intervals, making sure Danzo could never get a good rest.

"Alright, time to wrap things up!"

After three days of work, Kazuki finally finished his project. a large wooden water gun.

The team exchanged bewildered glances.

The captain had spent three days making… a water gun?

"Your water buckets are up. Go fetch two buckets of water," Kazuki gestured to Itachi.

Itachi wanted to roll his eyes.

He'd been curious about what Kazuki was making, only to find out it was a water gun, and he even had to bring over two buckets…

Although exasperated, Itachi complied, bringing back two buckets of water.

Kazuki filled up the water gun, then aimed it at Danzo in his cell. Danzo, who had been still as a statue, dodged effortlessly as soon as he felt the water splash.

Feeling humiliated, Danzo glared at Kazuki, fury burning in his eyes.

Kazuki, looking like a defiant teenager, pointed the water gun at Danzo with a grin.

"Eat the ration pill, or I'll be here all day, soaking you non-stop. Let's see how long you can keep dodging. I've got plenty of time to play."

You wish!

Danzo remained unfazed, his actions showing he wouldn't be controlled by anyone.

"Stubborn. I like it."

Kazuki relished Danzo's defiant expression and the killing intent in his eyes.

"From now on, none of you will use the bathroom. Fill up the buckets instead, I plan to add some 'fertilizer' for our dear Lord Danzo."

"…"

Was this for real?

The team was stunned.

"Besides, we've left him food. If he doesn't want it, that's his problem."

"Anyway, keep tapping on the bars when you're free, but don't bother me."

Kazuki continued with his project, leaving Jiro to pass on his instructions to the others.

"The captain said don't worry about the old guy starving. If he's given food and refuses it, that's on him — let him starve for all we care!"

Jiro made sure to raise his voice on the last sentence, clearly aiming it at Danzo.

Don't think going hungry is going to scare us.
