Chapter 384: Chapter 384: Chiyo Single-Handedly Instigates the Two Kages to Attack Each Other

The Third Hokage's eyelids twitched, and Mitokado Homura chose to avert his gaze.

Utatane Koharu, seated quietly, slightly lowered her head, hiding her expression and restraining her emotions. She feared she might lose her composure and lash out at Shinki, which could lead to unnecessary conflict. After all, the Shimura clan's matter was still unresolved, and Koharu had no desire to draw more attention to herself.

"Good morning," Dodai and the Third Raikage greeted with a smile and a nod, while Onoki maintained a blank expression as he observed the others.

What had they agreed upon? Why were their attitudes so friendly now? Onoki felt annoyed. Was he the only one out of the loop?

Meanwhile, Shinki sped up his breakfast, prompting the Third Hokage to decide it was better to wait until the meal was over before delving into serious matters.

Little did he know that Onoki would be the first to break the silence.

Taking one look at Chiyo, whose face bore the kind smile of an innocent old lady, Onoki couldn't hold back and asked sharply, "Old woman, why isn't Kazekage here in person? Or is it that he doesn't value information about a perfect jinchuriki?"

Chiyo's smile faltered, and her expression turned icy. "Kazekage-sama wanted to come, but unfortunately, circumstances in Sunagakure didn't allow it. Unlike Iwagakure, which gets pushed around by the Cloud Village and doesn't even fight back, Sunagakure has faced war. We're busy rebuilding and repaying debts."

"You liar!" Onoki exploded with anger, caught off guard by the barb about Iwagakure's supposed cowardice. Though it was true that Cloud had caused Iwagakure trouble by snatching resources from the Land of Stone, Onoki had always retaliated. How dare Chiyo distort the narrative?

Chiyo's words had clearly struck a nerve. Onoki, a stubborn and short-tempered leader, couldn't restrain his fury. Though age had mellowed him somewhat, this insult was too much to bear.

Jinchuriki or not, Chiyo's provocation was all he could focus on. He barked back at her, "You dare suggest we don't retaliate? Iwagakure has never backed down from a fight with Cloud!"

Around the table, everyone else watched with interest. Even though this was Konoha territory, the Third Hokage and others had no intention of intervening. If anything, they seemed to enjoy the spectacle.

"Heh. Iwagakure's defense is as stubborn as its Kage's personality," the Third Raikage quipped, adding fuel to the fire.

The jab hit its mark. Though Iwagakure's earth-release techniques were formidable, they were easily countered by Cloud's lightning-based techniques. The tension rose as Chiyo smirked, satisfied with the reaction she had provoked.

"Oh, please! The Cloud Village's so-called strength is as fleeting as their Raikage's patience," Onoki retorted, leaning into the insults. The room grew tense as the exchange escalated.

The Third Raikage clenched his fists, his irritation building. "Onoki, personal attacks are pointless."

"Hah," Onoki sneered, unbothered. "Are they? Or are you just sensitive about your weaknesses?"

Chiyo's provocation had successfully set the stage for a showdown between Onoki and the Third Raikage. The Third Hokage finally intervened, clearing his throat. "Gentlemen, this is Konoha. Please refrain from resolving personal grievances here."

His voice carried enough authority to settle the room momentarily. Onoki and the Third Raikage reluctantly backed down, though their glares spoke volumes.

Chiyo smiled inwardly. Her job was done. The tensions between the villages had been ignited, and the resulting argument had set the stage perfectly for negotiation. As the discussion turned to the topic of the perfect jinchuriki, the attention shifted to Shinki, who sat calmly, observing the chaos with interest.

Shinki, noticing the three Kages turning their attention to him, deflected smoothly. "Everyone, please direct your negotiations to the Hokage. I'm just here to enjoy the show. The necessary information has already been prepared and can be handed over as soon as we reach an agreement."

With that, he produced three scrolls, placing them on the table in front of the Hokage. He had no intention of wasting his time on endless debates. Let the Hokage and his advisors deal with the haggling.

Mitokado Homura, taking the lead, addressed the group. "The information regarding the perfect jinchuriki is invaluable. Let's hear your offers."

Among the three Kages, Onoki frowned, Chiyo remained expressionless, and the Third Raikage wore a confident smirk. Cloud had resources to spare, unlike the struggling Sunagakure and Iwagakure. The negotiations were just beginning, and the stakes couldn't be higher.
