Chapter 256: Returning Shisui's Eye, Another Burden for Danzo

After finishing his discussion with Naruto about enrolling in the academy, Haneda and Kakashi took Naruto to Ichiraku Ramen for a meal.

On the way home, Haneda brought dinner back for Haku, Kimimaro, and the others.

Time flew by. While writing books, Haneda continued researching Dust Release.

Dust Release involves three different chakra natures—wind, earth, and fire—and belongs to the category of Kekkei Tōta.

Compared to Kekkei Genkai, Kekkei Tōta is far more complex.

It requires consideration of numerous factors.

If Kekkei Genkai can be fused through a balance of yin and yang principles, similar to the Rasengan's concept, then Kekkei Tōta is akin to a stable triangular structure.

But this triangular structure is inherently unstable—it is dynamic.

It must constantly maintain balance while in motion, much like the Rasengan.

The difficulty surpasses Kekkei Genkai and delves into more profound, unknown realms.

Haneda could only rely on the power of "All Things in Creation" to experiment repeatedly, observing the consumption of his ocular power to confirm whether his direction was correct before continuing his training accordingly.

Although progress was slow, it was still considerable as time went on.

After a week, Haneda felt that Shisui's eye had been completely repaired.

He summoned Shisui and, incidentally, Itachi, intending to explain the mysteries of the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Within less than fifteen minutes of the message being sent, Shisui and Itachi had arrived.

After unlocking the Mangekyō Sharingan, Itachi had joined the Anbu under Kakashi's command.

"Lord Hokage," Itachi and Shisui greeted respectfully as they stepped forward.

Haneda waved his hand and said, "It's fine to call me Lord Hokage outside, but in private, just call me something a bit more casual, alright?"

"Understood, Uncle Haneda," Itachi obediently adjusted his address.

Hearing this, Haneda's face darkened. He was only seventeen—he wasn't that old!

Haneda hinted again, "How you addressed me before is fine. Just stick with that."

Itachi pretended not to catch Haneda's hint, taking "Uncle Haneda" as a reminder to be more formal.

If his father found out he was still calling Haneda "Big Brother," he would never hear the end of it.

Noticing Itachi signaling him with his eyes, Shisui understood and tactfully changed the subject:

"Lord Hokage, is there a specific reason you've summoned the two of us?"

"I forgot to mention last time—your right eye was originally with me, but it was damaged due to Danzo's meddling. I've repaired it and now intend to return it to you."

As he spoke, Haneda took out a test tube containing Shisui's eye.

Shisui had already faintly guessed that Haneda might have done something with his eye.

His Mangekyō ability, Kotoamatsukami, was so powerful that its potential applications were practically limitless.

But Haneda was the Hokage, so Shisui decided to bury this suspicion deep within his heart.

Haneda removed Shisui's eye from the test tube and stepped forward.

He was proficient in medical ninjutsu and well-versed in Yang chakra. Performing an eye transplant was no challenge for him.

In less than two and a half minutes, Shisui's right eye was back in place.

Shisui could feel the abundant ocular power surging within his restored eye. This sensation was entirely different from that of his left eye.

In fact, the right eye's ocular power was faintly stronger than the left's.

Shisui looked at Haneda in astonishment.

So it was true—Haneda-sama had spoken the truth. Danzo had damaged his eye, and Haneda-sama had repaired it!

Noticing the gratitude in Shisui's gaze, Haneda felt a bit perplexed.

He suddenly realized something and thought to himself: Could Shisui have taken his words seriously?

The naturally sinister Danzo was indeed a convenient scapegoat.

Haneda smirked inwardly. In the future, any inexplicable issues could easily be blamed on Danzo.

He chuckled quietly to himself before refocusing on the matter at hand, resuming a serious demeanor:

"The other reason I called you here, besides returning your eye, is to explain some matters regarding the Mangekyō Sharingan."

"You've likely noticed that every time you use your ocular powers, the eye's energy diminishes and cannot recover, correct?"

Itachi and Shisui instinctively nodded.

As Anbu members, they sometimes had to undertake dangerous missions.

In urgent situations, they were forced to use their ocular powers repeatedly and had indeed observed the problem Haneda described—their ocular power couldn't be replenished.

Suddenly, both Itachi and Shisui seemed to realize something. They looked at Haneda and asked in unison:

"Uncle Haneda (Lord Haneda), do you know how to restore it?"

"Of course. But there's more to it than that," Haneda replied with a smirk, having just thought of the perfect scapegoat.

"There are currently two known ways to restore ocular power," Haneda began.

"The first is to merge with the eyes of a close relative, achieving the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan."

"The second is to transplant cells from the First Hokage, gaining the power of All Things in Creation."

"Transplant cells from the First Hokage? Uncle Haneda, do you mean Hashirama Senju-sama?" Itachi asked curiously.

"That's correct," Haneda replied. "According to the research conducted by the naturally sinister Danzo and the Root division, the Uchiha and Senju clans may have been part of the same family many centuries ago—or perhaps even longer ago.

"Their bloodlines repel yet simultaneously integrate with one another.

"When Sharingan merges with Senju DNA, it creates the power of All Things in Creation.

"This power can repair the damage inflicted on the Mangekyō Sharingan, effectively restoring lost ocular power."

"Does that mean, Haneda-sama, your ability to use Wood Release and maintain undamaged Sharingan eyes is due to this fusion?" Shisui asked in surprise.

Haneda nodded, putting on an expression of extreme resentment and hatred.

"Yes, it's all because of that naturally sinister Danzo! He turned me into a test subject and transplanted the First Hokage's cells into me.

"Luckily, I was born both kindhearted and resourceful enough to escape from that lab. Otherwise, Konoha wouldn't be as prosperous as it is today."

Hearing this, both Itachi and Shisui grew even more disgusted with Danzo and more reverent toward Haneda.

They couldn't imagine how Haneda had managed to escape from the Root's laboratory.

After all, the Root, under Danzo's leadership, was as well-guarded as—or even more secure than—the Anbu!

And at the time, Haneda was probably just a child!

"That naturally sinister Danzo! To think I once regarded him as a grandfather figure!" Shisui couldn't help but curse aloud.

"Haneda-uncle has truly walked a perilous path to get to where he is today," Itachi remarked, reflecting on Haneda's challenging journey.

Hearing their comments, Haneda couldn't help but feel a little awkward.

The naturally sinister Danzo had unknowingly taken the blame once again...

Haneda's ability to attain the Sage Body was entirely thanks to the system, after all...

Remembering that his book was nearing completion and the ninja academy was about to start, Haneda turned to Itachi with a reminder:

"Itachi, your brother Sasuke is about to enroll in the academy. On the day of the entrance ceremony, you don't need to report to the Anbu—spend some time with him."

"Understood, Uncle Haneda," Itachi nodded.

Thinking of his adorable little brother, Itachi couldn't help but smile.

Suddenly remembering that Sasuke had mentioned having an important friend who would also be enrolling, Itachi asked:

"Will Naruto be attending as well?"

Haneda smiled. "He will. I'll also be there that day. And there might even be a surprising guest."

At that moment, Kakashi appeared beside Haneda via Flying Thunder God and said, "Lady Tsunade has already brought Lord Jiraiya back to the village. Let's go."

In an instant, Haneda and Kakashi disappeared from where they stood.

Itachi and Shisui exchanged a glance, then helplessly headed toward the Hokage's office.
