Naruto: You Call This A Medical Ninja?

Chapter 541: Chapter 541: Reiki’s Confidence Emerges!

After Chodori's pointed complaint, Reiki couldn't help but agree.

Indeed, his mastery over the spatial abilities granted by the Surgical Fruit was unparalleled. Within the bounds of his controlled space, he had absolute dominion over all that entered. However, his shadow clones were unable to replicate the fruit's powers, making his enemies seem far more formidable during earlier engagements.

Reflecting on this realization, Reiki found it amusing and a little humbling.

Battling the Chaos

As the team advanced deeper into the cult's territory, spikes erupted from the ground around them, dramatically altering the terrain.

"Reiki, leave the outside to us," said Gujia, her excitement evident.

"This battlefield is a bit more interesting than usual," she added as she smashed the ground with her fists, sending tremors through the area.

Nearby, Orr manipulated the spikes, transforming them into monstrous shapes, further escalating the chaos. Meanwhile, Al reveled in the intensity of the fight, treating it as a rare opportunity to let loose.

Reiki, however, stayed focused. "An Ye, keep the perimeter secure. If any ninja reinforcements arrive, intercept them. Those two are fighting recklessly, and I don't want anyone caught in the crossfire."

An Ye nodded, taking position to manage the battlefield while Reiki advanced with Chodori toward the heart of the cult's stronghold.

The Altar of Sacrifice

As Reiki and Chodori entered the darkened station, the air grew heavy with the smell of blood. The dim light revealed a towering altar, its base drenched in crimson.

Standing before it was a shadowy figure—Keji, the first station leader of the Evil God Cult. Beside him was a barrier filled with cult members, both willing and unwilling sacrifices.

"I didn't expect you to break through the restrictions placed by Lord Evil God and make it here," Keji sneered. "But it's too late now."

Reiki's gaze swept over the scene. "Sacrificing your own members, huh? You could've saved me the trip. They worship your so-called 'Evil God,' don't they? Their sacrifice doesn't concern me," he said nonchalantly, though his sharp eyes never left the altar.

Keji's face twisted in anger. "Watch then, ninja! Witness the birth of a god, and I'll make sure you're the first to feed its power!"

As Keji spoke, a spike shot out from the altar, impaling a cult member and shattering them into a cloud of blood and soul fragments. The altar absorbed the sacrifice, the surrounding energy growing darker and more oppressive.

Breaking the Barrier

Reiki frowned. This couldn't continue. If the ritual succeeded, the being behind the altar—the so-called Evil God—would emerge, bringing untold destruction.

With a swift motion, Reiki raised the Sky-Breaking Blade and slashed at the barrier. The energy shield shattered with a crack, freeing the cult members inside.

Chaos erupted.

Some of the freed individuals, filled with despair, trembled at the sight of the broken barrier. Others, fanatically loyal to the cult, screamed praises to the Evil God.

"This ninja is here to save us!" one desperate voice cried out.

"Save us? Forget that! I don't want to die for this monster!" shouted another.

"Silence! Our sacrifice is our honor!" a fanatic yelled, lunging at those trying to flee.

The scene devolved into pandemonium as chaos rippled through the ranks of the freed cultists.

Keji's Desperation

"Reiki! You insolent wretch!" Keji roared, his composure breaking. "You've ruined everything!"

Keji lunged, but Reiki met the attack with the Sky-Breaking Blade. Their weapons clashed, sending sparks flying.

"You think a simple spatial trick will work against me?" Keji spat.

Reiki smirked. "This little secret of yours? Not nearly enough."

In his left hand, Reiki wielded Murasame, slashing Keji's arm. The cursed power of the blade spread through Keji's body, but the cult leader only laughed.

"A curse? Is that all? The power of Lord Evil God renders your tricks meaningless!" Keji exclaimed, renewing his assault.

Chodori's Strike

"Chodori, destroy the altar!" Reiki called out as he deflected Keji's blows.

Chodori dashed toward the towering structure, her small frame belying her immense strength.

"Ugh, this reeks," she muttered, pinching her nose as she approached. "This polluted natural energy is disgusting."

Despite her complaints, Chodori raised her fist and slammed it into the altar with all her might.

BOOM!

The altar exploded, sending blood and corrupted natural energy spraying across the chamber.

The Collapse of the Ritual

As the altar crumbled, the tainted energy seeped into the surrounding cultists. They screamed in agony as their bodies convulsed, unable to withstand the corrupted energy. One by one, they fell to the ground, lifeless.

Keji staggered, his body arching unnaturally as the contaminated energy engulfed him. He struggled to remain standing, but even he could not resist the backlash. His movements slowed until, finally, he froze in place, his outstretched hand suspended mid-air.

A Grim Victory

Reiki lowered his weapons, surveying the aftermath. The once-thriving stronghold of the Evil God Cult was now silent, filled with lifeless bodies and the remnants of a shattered ritual.

Chodori walked over, her nose wrinkled. "Well, that was disgusting, but at least it's over."

Reiki nodded. "Not yet. The leader's defeat doesn't mean the cult is finished. We still have work to do."

Despite the grim surroundings, Reiki felt a renewed sense of confidence. They had overcome a major threat, but the battle to protect the ninja world was far from over.
