Naruto: You Call This A Medical Ninja?

Chapter 554: Chapter 554: Zhu Gets Slapped!

As the Sage Candle appeared, Reiki breathed a sigh of relief.

This Sage seems to have some sense of responsibility... though not much, he thought.

The incident had been caused by the Sage leaving his domain. Although Reiki had been dragged into this mess, Zhu showing up here at least indicated that his conscience wasn't entirely lost.

"Little Reiki, are you still ready to fight?!"

"Di Buxie is very weak right now. If we go all out in our current state, maybe…"

"No need."

Before Chedoli could finish speaking, Reiki waved his hand to interrupt her, then calmly lay on the ground.

"Why?" Chedoli looked at Reiki suspiciously.

"The Sages are here, whether they're incarnations or something else," Reiki replied. "Now that one has arrived, let him handle it. I'm a medical ninja. It's already rare for me to get this far in a fight."

Reiki's expression turned resolute. This is a battle of equals, he thought. As a medical ninja, my mission is to heal and save lives, not fight battles like this. This has gone too far already. Let the Sage Candle handle it.

"Hmm…"

Chedoli wanted to argue but couldn't deny the reason in Reiki's words.

"Kid, you can leave now," Sage Candle said, his massive head lowering as he addressed Reiki.

"Alright!" Reiki sprang up eagerly. "Wangyue, take me back!"

He had plenty of experiences waiting for him outside and had no desire to stay here any longer.

"Understood."

Mochizuki nodded as the Ten-Tails behind her began to gather, creating a portal to another space.

"Gujia, Orr, Chedoli, let's go."

Without waiting for their responses, Reiki dragged the three of them into the portal.

"Hey! I wanted to stay! Let me…"

"Little Reiki, you…"

"Sage Candle, couldn't you at least…"

Their voices echoed faintly as the portal closed, cutting them off.

Sage Candle transformed into the form of a young man, standing calmly on the roots of a massive tree. His gaze locked on Bu Xie, who stood not far away.

"It's been a while," Zhu said evenly.

"Indeed," Bu Xie replied, his indifference replaced with resentment. "But I wasn't exactly looking forward to this meeting. You broke the contract back then."

Zhu remained silent, his calm demeanor faltering slightly.

"If not for you…" Bu Xie began, his tone sharpening, "…if not for you, we wouldn't be in this mess. You swore to me!"

Before Zhu could respond, Bu Xie raised his hand and slapped him hard. The impact reverberated, shattering the tree root they stood on.

[Sacred Tree: What did I do to deserve this? Can you two fight somewhere else?!]

Zhu, thrown to the ground, did not resist. He slowly stood up and approached Bu Xie again.

"That incident…"

Slap!

"Wait…"

Slap!

"I understand…"

Slap!

Finally, Zhu grabbed Bu Xie's wrist before the next slap could land.

"Let me finish! If you keep this up—"

Slap!

Bu Xie switched hands and struck Zhu again.

"I'm just an avatar! If you destroy me like this, you'll never learn the truth!" Zhu shouted in frustration, staying down this time.

"Then why doesn't your true self face me?" Bu Xie demanded, his tone heavy with bitterness.

Zhu hesitated. As a Sage bound to time and space, leaving his domain was nearly impossible. Moreover, this was Reiki's Sage Land—an incomplete one at that. The rules of this world were still unfinished, allowing avatars to traverse its boundaries but not their true forms.

If Zhu's main body entered, a battle with Reiki would surely follow.

"Fine, speak."

Bu Xie sat on a nearby rock, glaring coldly at Zhu.

Zhu sighed and began to explain.

"Back then, that door… you and I crossed a taboo. Everything here exists because of what we did. The backlash from the world's balance caused time and space to collapse. Despite knowing this, we pressed forward and forced the door open."

He paused.

"But the great power from beyond the door awakened something in my blood—memories I couldn't ignore. If it had just been us, we wouldn't have been able to enter the world behind the door. That world is sealed off—banned from our reach."

As Zhu spoke, Bu Xie's eyes, initially filled with resentment, began to show traces of understanding.

"You can see why I did what I did, can't you?" Zhu pressed on. "We chased our dreams. If you died, you would've died—but what about Guga? Orr? What about all those we dragged into this mess? Should they have been buried alongside us?"

"But I…"

Slap!

Bu Xie struck him again, cutting him off.

Zhu's avatar disintegrated into fragments, merging with the surrounding world. His presence vanished completely.

Bu Xie turned, his eyes locking on Mochizuki [Ten-Tails], who had been watching eagerly from afar.

"Boom!"

Mochizuki leaped to her feet, her chakra surging as she stared at Bu Xie warily.

"Is he coming after me? Should I call Reiki back?" she muttered nervously.

But Bu Xie raised a hand calmly.

"I have no intention of fighting you," he said. "The consciousness of this world flows within you, doesn't it? I have a request… may I stay here?"
