One Piece - I'm Whitebeard

Chapter 442: 443 Naval Battles

The Whitebeard Pirates launched a full counterattack, firing their cannons in response. The sky was soon filled with dense artillery shells.

"Prepare the light shield!" A Vice Admiral on the Marine battleship gave the order.

An invisible shield appeared over all the ships, blocking all the incoming shells.

The rumbling continued in the air, and Benjamin was surprised. He hadn't expected the Marine warships to have such advanced equipment.

"A large barrier like this? Last time, the Marines didn't have anything this powerful," Benjamin remarked in surprise.

"It's been a long time since our last direct battle with the Marines. It looks like they've been preparing and developing new weapons," Jozu said.

"The Marines are coming in strong, but we won't be defeated by these weapons," Benjamin chuckled lightly

"Hahaha, what's there to fear? Just keep bombarding and break their barriers," Charles Vane laughed with some expectation.

Since the Marines and the Whitebeard Pirates were still some distance apart, both sides relied solely on artillery to attack each other.

However, the Whitebeard Pirates suffered some damage.

The Marine battleships not only fired artillery but also occasionally launched laser beams.

The sudden laser attacks caught the Whitebeard Pirates off guard, making it hard to block them.

Additionally, the powerful Marine artillery caused disruptions even when intercepted in the air.

It even exploded on the surrounding sea, causing some damage to the Whitebeard Pirates fleet

"Fleet Admiral, the Whitebeard Pirates are well-prepared. We've caused limited damage. What should we do now?" the Vice Admiral asked Akainu.

"If that's the case, let's get closer, break their formation, and hit them round after round. I don't believe they can block everything," Akainu said firmly.

"Yes, sir!"

On the sea, some Marine warships stopped shooting and began moving slowly towards the Whitebeard Pirates. Benjamin immediately noticed this change.

"No, the Marines have several warships approaching. We need to stop them immediately," Benjamin said solemnly.

He was unsure why the warships were coming closer. Perhaps they were carrying explosive cargo, though that seemed unlikely.

"Leave it to me," Jinbei said firmly.

He then jumped into the sea, keeping his head barely above the surface to avoid detection by the Marines. A powerful force soon surged from Jinbei.

"Fishman Karate!" Jinbei shouted as he harnessed his Fishman strength to grab a wave and direct it towards the Marine battleships.

The wave surged with great force. Though only three or four meters high, it carried the full power of Jinbei's Fishman Karate.

Several Marine battleships soon saw the approaching wave. The captain of the leading ship quickly ordered an artillery attack.

The cannons from multiple ships fired simultaneously, aiming to use their firepower to offset the impact of the wave

"Just a few cannons won't be enough to stop my technique," Jinbei said calmly as he watched.

As expected, after the cannon fire, the wave's power and speed remained unaffected and even seemed to grow stronger.

"Open the barriers and advance!" the captain ordered.

The warships activated their barriers, deploying transparent semicircular shields to protect each ship.

Then, they increased their speed and moved directly into the path of the waves.

Soon, the foremost battleship was submerged in the waves, but when Jinbei was looking forward to it, the situation he imagined did not happen.

The battleship quickly emerged from the waves and seemed unaffected.

"This... it didn't work," Jinbei said, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. He had taken on the task himself, but it seemed he had failed to stop the warships.

As the first battleship broke through, the others quickly followed, emerging from the waves as well.

"Great, Captain. The warship is undamaged and we're getting closer to the Whitebeard Pirates."

"Hahaha, this new battleship is amazing. With its huge size and the barrier's power, I doubt Whitebeard will be able to resist," the captain said with pride. This was their first time using the new ship in a sea war.

As the battleship approached the Whitebeard Pirates, the captain prepared for a close attack.

Suddenly, a thunderstorm erupted in the sky, and a powerful lightning bolt struck, startling everyone on the ship.

Enel suddenly appeared above Jinbei and said, "It seems you can't stop them."

"Sorry, I underestimated the Marines. Their battleships are very powerful," Jinbei admitted, looking embarrassed.

"It's okay, step back for now. I'll wipe them out with my lightning,"

Enel said confidently. But before he could finish, he saw that the lightning he summoned was being absorbed by the battleship's protective shield.

"What? How could this happen?" Enel was astonished, not expecting this at all.

It turned out that the warships' protective shields were connected to their internal power system.

The lightning Enel generated was absorbed and used to power the ship, actually increasing its speed.

Seeing this, Benjamin quickly analyzed the situation and shouted to Enel, "Enel, don't attack recklessly. Their defense system seems to absorb and use your attacks to their advantage."

"Huh, How should we handle this?" Enel asked.

Benjamin fell into thought as he surveyed the battlefield. The situation was still at a standoff, and there were not many high-end combatants present yet.

Therefore, Benjamin didn't want to make Sanjuan Wolf appear in advance, but knew they needed to prevent the warships from getting too close, so he quickly contacted Sanjuan Wolf underwater, instructing him to attack the approaching warships.
