One Piece: Take the Uchiha Clan to the Grand Line

Chapter 213: Targeting the Akatsuki

"Bastard!!"

"People say, 'Like father, like son,' but that doesn't seem entirely true, huh? The father's a hero, and the son… well, might just be a loser!"

"You damn bastard!!"

Uchiha Kitaro finally had enough of toying with Asuma.

Swoosh!

In an instant, he appeared right in front of Asuma. His finger shot forward, aiming for Asuma, who instinctively raised his chakra blade to block.

Crack!

The blade shattered like glass.

Kitaro followed up with a spinning kick, landing a solid blow on Asuma's face.

"Ughh!!"

Asuma let out a painful cry as he was sent flying, landing hard on the ground. A couple of teeth even fell out from the impact.

"You should count yourself lucky that you've got a good dad. With skills like yours, you'd have been dead a hundred times over by now."

After those cutting words, Kitaro didn't spare him another glance. In his eyes, Asuma was nothing more than a clown—a so-called Jonin in title only.

Without hesitation, Kitaro and the others turned and walked away, completely ignoring Asuma.

Before long, news of Kitaro and Asuma's clash reached the ears of the Third Hokage.

"Hmph! That idiot! If he had even half of Uchiha Kitaro's cunning, he wouldn't be such a failure."

It was clear the Third wasn't pleased with his son.

"Still, no matter how useless Asuma is, he's my son. Inform Danzo that he can deal with Kitaro however he likes. I'll look the other way."

Root Headquarters

Danzo received the message from the Hokage.

"So, the Uchiha Clan is finally making their move? As expected, that old man Hiruzen is trying to eliminate them using someone else's blade. Fine by me—it suits my plans perfectly."

He turned to his subordinates.

"Recall all operatives from their missions and have them regroup in the village. We're going to wipe out the Uchiha Clan once and for all."

"Yes, sir!"

Meanwhile, Kitaro was taking a stroll by the river with Kurenai.

Of course, Kitaro was no fool; he could easily see the affection in Kurenai's eyes. But back then, his circumstances had been tricky—being under constant scrutiny in what felt like house arrest. Dating wasn't exactly on the table.

Now, however, things were different.

As they walked, Kurenai suddenly stopped. Mustering her courage, she spoke hesitantly, "Kitaro… I… I…"

Before she could finish, Kitaro extended his hand toward her. Startled, Kurenai hesitated for a moment before shyly placing her hand in his.

"Sorry, Kurenai. I've known how you felt for a long time. But back then, I wasn't in a position to respond.

"If I had, it might have put you in danger. The higher-ups in Konoha would stop at nothing to come after me."

Kurenai squeezed his hand tightly, shaking her head firmly. "I understand. But I'm not afraid."

"You're a brave girl."

Pulling her into his arms, Kitaro leaned in, kissing her gently. The kiss left Kurenai blushing furiously, her face as red as her name.

Kitaro couldn't help but feel amused and a little guilty. "I've become quite the playboy without even realizing it, he thought. But man, being a "bad guy" isn't half bad."

That night, Kitaro used his Flying Thunder God Technique to appear in Kurenai's home. He wasted no time claiming her as his, their passion lasting well into the night.

As they rested, Kitaro curiously asked Kurenai when she had first fallen for him. She shyly recounted the story of how, as a child, she had been bullied until Kitaro stepped in and scared off the troublemakers.

From that moment, she had admired him.

When they later attended the Academy, Kitaro—despite being a year younger—quickly became the school's shining star. Teachers praised him as a once-in-a-century prodigy.

After Kitaro graduated and made a name for himself during the Third Great Ninja War, he became a legend among her peers. Many at the Academy saw him as a hero.

Her feelings only deepened during a mission after her own graduation. Caught in an enemy trap and on the brink of despair, Kitaro appeared out of nowhere and singlehandedly defeated the enemies with ease.

From then on, she was utterly smitten.

But feelings of insecurity held her back. Kitaro was like an untouchable star, while she felt ordinary. She convinced herself they would never cross paths again.

Fate had other plans.

Kurenai's best friend, Mitarashi Anko, turned out to be Kitaro's junior under Orochimaru's tutelage. Through Anko, she got to know him better during his time under house arrest.

Despite her growing feelings, she never dared confess. The fear of rejection and losing even their friendship paralyzed her. But when the Uchiha Clan vanished, leaving Kitaro's fate uncertain, she was devastated.

Seeing him again was like a dream come true. She resolved not to let this chance slip away, even if it meant risking rejection.

For three days, Kitaro basked in Kurenai's affection.

On the fourth day, he left the village with Shisui, Itachi, Kakashi, and Guy.

Their mission? To confront the Akatsuki.

More specifically, Kitaro sought his former mentor—Orochimaru, one of the legendary Sannin.

Kitaro held deep respect for Orochimaru. There was no doubt the man was a genius, a scientist in the world of ninjas.

The Reincarnation Jutsu Orochimaru perfected might not be flashy in battle, but it was a groundbreaking technique that essentially achieved immortality.

From a technical perspective, it even surpassed the complexity of the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Orochimaru wasn't just brilliant; he was an exceptional teacher. Kitaro owed much of his current strength to the foundation Orochimaru had laid for him.

Now, it was time to confront his former master.
