Pokemon - A real story

Gengar went ahead to strike Aerodactyl with powerful punches. This was what Aerodactyl was looking for. As it went near, Aerodactyl's tail started to shine in a silver light.

It turned around and then smacked Gengar on the face with 'Iron tail'. The power of this move had increased as it had crossed level 40.

Gengar's fist also made contact with Aerodactyl's face. Both of them were hurt but Aerodactyl was not giving up. It knew that this was the best chance that it had.

It opened its loud mouth and then bit Gengar with the move 'Bite'. Gengar immediately flinched as the chances of being flinched triggered. Gengar gave another 'Shadow punch' to Aerodactyl, but it would not move. Its teeth were grounded in Gengar's shoulder. Due to this, Gengar could only attack with one fist, not the two of them.

Gengar had started to bleed as Aerodactyl's teeth were very deadly.

"Oh my god. This is quite a clash. Aerodactyl is not giving up and Gengar is doing everything to get out of that bite grip...",

The commentator started to shout out loud but Norty and Axel were fully committed in battle.

"Gengar, use 'Toxic'.", said Norty.

Since they were in close proximity, using this move was not a problem and after using this move 2 times, Aerodactyl, got poisoned. The hit from the 'Toxic' made Aerodactyl scream in pain and it let Gengar go.

'Toxic' had an interesting effect. It would badly poison the target but the chances of getting toxic were not very high. Gengar was lucky to get Aerodactyl poisoned in 2 hits.

"Now, use 'Venom drench'.", said Norty.

ROOOARR

Aerodactyl screamed in pain. After getting poisoned, the power 'Venom drench' will increase by a lot. Aerodactyl's speed, attack, and special attack were lowered by it.

Both of them knew that Aerodactyl was not going to win this battle. The question was how much damage that it could do to Gengar right now. Axel knew that Aerodactyl didn't have much time.

It was already injured from before and now it was badly poisoned. But then something amazing happened.

Aerodactyl looked into the sky and it roared from the top of its lungs.

ROOOARRR

 ---

Ding!

Divine teeth have reached stage II.

 ---

Axel was so focused on battle but he failed to see that one of the teeth of Aerodactyl was stuck on Gengar's right arm.

It had finally managed to reach Stage II.

 ---

Ding!

Choose a new typing for Divine teeth.

 ---

Axel didn't know what was going on and he didn't have the time to look at the new description of the move. So, he chose poison out of an instinct.

Suddenly, Axel could see a purple hint of poison on its teeth. Aerodactyl released a powerful 'Dragon breath' towards Gengar. As Gengar was still rubbing the pain from the bite marks that it had received, the harmful breath hit it and it was paralyzed by the attack. Aerodactyl took advantage of it and moved forward.

Its teeth were now shining in dark and purple light. This time it was 'Crunch' and it bit on the same place.

GENGARRRR

Gengar roared from the pain once again and for some reason, Axel could see that it had also been poisoned. Gengar was a poison-type Pokemon and it had very high resistance to poison. So, this might be luck or was it something that Axel didn't know?

Axel knew that this was the effect of the second stage of Divine teeth but he didn't have the time right now to see what it really was. But he could make a marginal guess.

"Gengar, enough is enough. Do it. Use 'Shadow drive'.", shouted Norty.

ROARRRR

Suddenly, all the shadows around it started to move towards it and then all of them enveloped it like a sort of armor.

ROOOARR

The pressure and aura of Gengar had instantly increased. It gave a huge roar and from that sheer aura and power alone, Gengar was able to repel Aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl flew back from the impact and it hit the ground.

"Aerodactyl, buy as much time as you can. Use 'Tail wind' to escape and then use 'Stone edge'.", said Axel.

Gengar had completely changed. It looked more bulky now. There were weird markings all over its body. It raced towards Aerodactyl at an impossible speed but it was obstructed by 'Stone edge'.

Both of its fists were now filled with the power of shadow as it hit those large rocks that were obstructing it. The rocks were blown to pieces as if it were not even a hurdle at all.

The power of Gengar seemed to have massively increased. 'Shadow drive' was no joke. No wonder the restriction was so high. Of course, it was not as powerful as 'Transform' of Charizard but it was still something.

Aerodactyl came crashing to the ground and used 'Earthquake'. The move did decrease the speed of Gengar by a lot but that was all it did. It seemed to have no effect at all.

Just what was happening.

This did buy Aerodactyl some time to dodge the attack. It used the move 'Wing attack' but this time it didn't go on to the strike. By using this move, the power of its wings had increased and its flying ability had been enhanced. It used this to fly high in the sky and then it remained there.

Gengar didn't have the power to fly but that didn't mean that Aerodactyl was safe. Gengar looked at the sky and gave a big roar.

ROOAORRR

Suddenly a shadowy aura enveloped its whole body and small shadow balls came out all over the shadowy aura that had enveloped its body. All of them were pointed to Aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl used 'Meteor beam' to counter it. The power of these 'Shadow balls' was not so high and it was smaller in size too. But there were too many to dodge it. Aerodactyl did its best to dodge all the attacks but it was hit by some of them.

Yet, Aerodactyl didn't go down. It knew that it was going to lose this battle if it stepped down on the ground.

For the first time in its life, Aerodactyl felt that it was useless. It considered itself as one of the most talented Pokemon. It knew that Axel was not a normal trainer. He was a genius and being a Pokemon of Axel meant that it was also very talented.

But now, seeing the fear in its heart made it uncertain. Gengar was also an elemental-rank Pokemon. It was not that it was fighting against a higher rank Pokemon but it was losing very badly.

Was it not training very hard? or was it just not talented enough? It didn't know the answer to those questions but one thing that it did know was that it was not going down without a proper fight. It was not going down by running and hiding. Axel may be its trainer but it was not a coward. Axel told it to run cause he felt that it could not handle Gengar now. This made it even more mad.

It was not useless. It considered itself to be a powerful Pokemon. So, it didn't fly in the sky but came down.

It looked Gengar right in its eyes and gave a powerful roar. Suddenly, its whole body was now blinded by rocky light.

"Gengar, stop it and disable 'Shadow drive.'", said Norty immediately.

Gengar also realized what was happening, so it did was Norty told it.

"Oh my god!!! Aerodactyl is ranking up in the middle of this battle. The tables have turned. Will Gengar be able to restrain Aerodactyl now? I don't think that it can."

Norty could tell that Aerodactyl was not ready to rank up right now. It had just entered in elemental rank phase. So, if it was not ranking up, then what the hell was happening?

Norty was an experienced gym leader. He could tell from the light that surrounded Aerodactyl that it was not ranking up which made him even more confused.

Meanwhile, Axel was looking very stoic but on the inside, his heart was fluttering with happiness. It was all due to a notification that he had received from the system.

Ding!

Aerodactyl has leveled up to Ancient Power to level 40.

Ding!

Aerodactyl is changing and returning to its ancient form. Please wait...

 ---

Aerodactyl had finally reached level 40 of 'Ancient power' and it was now going to get even more powerful. Will it be able to defeat Gengar now? Axel didn't know and he didn't care. This was an overall improvement.

The process took around 5 minutes and everyone could hear the painful sound of Aerodactyl. Rank-up was not supposed to be so painful. So, now everyone was confused. What was really happening?

"Axel, do you know what is happening?", asked Norty directly to Axel.

"Yes, I have an idea of what is happening."

"Can you tell me?"

"No."

"Oh come on. You are such a boring person."

Axel was not going to tell his secrets to others. Norty had been a good gym leader but this was confidential information.

After the 5 minutes were over, the glow that was covering Aerodactyl disappeared and now everyone had their mouths open with shock.

Aerodactyl had completely changed. It looked like it had somehow evolved even further.

Its height had increased by a bit. Before, it had a huge head and a big mouth. Its body was a bit smaller compared to the proportion of its head and its wings were very thin and shallow but now such was not the case.

Its body had become more robust and bigger and now its head looked proportional to its body. Its wings were thicker than before and they were bigger. Its tail was longer and way sharper than before. Its small legs had grown wide. It looked like an actual dragon.

Its tail and its face till its neck were covered in brown-colored rocky patches that looked very sturdy.

"Ah... Is this a new evolution of Aerodactyl? What the hell is going on?", asked the commentator.

Everyone had that same thought. Did Aerodactyl have another evolution? Because it had changed drastically.

The leveled up 'Ancient power' was like a mini evolution. It had recovered some of its health and stamina and it had grown stronger.

"Gengar, start is again.", said Norty.

The shadows started to gather yet again and Gengar continued this form. Axel didn't know that it could do this again.

Aerodactyl took the speed and closed towards Gengar to use the move 'Bite'.

Yet Gengar easily dodged it and then used the move 'Shadow punch'. Gengar felt that the body of Aerodactyl had become extremely hard but Aerodactyl was hurt nonetheless.

Since it had received its new body, it was not used to it. It needed some time to adjust and Gengar was taking full advantage of it. The fight went on for a few minutes and now Aerodactyl was already injured in multiple places.

Due to the mini evolution, it had recovered some injuries but it was not completely healed and Gengar's 'Shadow drive' was a cheat. After accumulating a lot of injuries, Aerodactyl finally fainted on the ground.

"Aerodactyl has fainted. Gengar has won the battle. Challenger is requested to send out his new Pokemon.", said the referee.

The last battle was very thrilling. Aerodactyl had leveled up its 'Divine teeth' and 'Ancient power' yet it was not able to win. But it had grown a lot in this battle and this was what gym battles were supposed to do.

Axel went on to use his final Pokemon but Norty said something.

"There is no need. You have already won this gym battle." He then looked at the referee and said, "I surrender."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am."
