Chapter 342: Chapter 342: Brainwash, Brainwash!
The Pokéblocks always used by Cain contained energy crystals. Although the amount was based on the range calculated by the system, Cain usually chose to use a lower quantity.
This time, to help Murkrow quickly regain its dark green quality, Cain decided to maximize the amount within the calculated range.
He hoped this wouldn't negatively affect Murkrow.
After dinner, while the Pokémon rested nearby, Cain pulled out his tools to craft new Pokéblocks for Murkrow.
The primary ingredient remained energy crystals, so no special ingredients were required. Following the original steps to make Pokéblocks, he simply increased the energy crystal quantity to its limit.
Once finished, Murkrow was watching closely from the side.
"Give it a try, Murkrow," Cain said, smiling as he held out a Pokéblock.
Murkrow quickly flew over, ate the special Pokéblock from Cain's hand, and, following his instructions, consumed a considerable amount.
At that moment, Cain felt a Pokéball in his pocket trembling.
When he took it out, he saw it was the one containing Mismagius, which he had recently captured.
After some hesitation, Cain released Mismagius.
As soon as it emerged, Mismagius let out an ethereal sound and began happily flying in circles.
The other Pokémon, sensing its presence, quickly gathered around Cain in a defensive stance.
They immediately recognized the powerful energy emanating from Mismagius.
Even though they didn't understand why such a strong Pokémon had appeared, as Cain's companions, they were determined to protect him despite the overwhelming pressure they felt.
"Relax, it's fine. Mismagius is a new member of our team. There's nothing to worry about. However, she has a childlike mind, so you'll need to get along with her," Cain said with a wave and a reassuring smile.
He knew the appearance of Mismagius would surprise his Pokémon, but he hadn't expected such an intense reaction.
The only one unaffected was Slowpoke, who already knew about Mismagius. It continued lounging by the fire with a mischievous grin, watching its companions.
"I was scared out of my wits when I first met her. Now it's your turn to feel it," Slowpoke thought smugly.
Meanwhile, Tropius, who had been resting next to Slowpoke, immediately got up, tense, with the leaves on its body fully extended.
The stronger the Pokémon, the more it could sense Mismagius's overwhelming intensity.
When Mismagius appeared, Tropius nearly fled in terror.
"This is horrifying! This human is unbelievably scary! Summoning a Pokémon of this level without warning! How am I supposed to handle this?" thought the terrified Tropius.
Fortunately, as Cain mentioned, Mismagius had a childlike personality and displayed no aggressive intentions.
Gradually, the Pokémon began to relax.
After playing around for a while, Mismagius floated over to Cain and eyed the high-dose Pokéblocks he had made for Murkrow.
"Do you want to eat this?" Cain asked with a smile, holding up a Pokéblock.
"Miiis!" Mismagius nodded happily.
It could sense the Pokéblock contained more energy than anything it had eaten before, and it loved it.
With a single bite, it consumed the Pokéblock Cain handed over, showing a satisfied smile.
At the same time, Cain used his system to analyze Mismagius's body data.
For Murkrow, these Pokéblocks were high-dose, but for Mismagius, they had minimal effect.
"It's probably just interested in the energy," Cain thought.
After eating a few Pokéblocks, Mismagius, now full, began spinning in circles on the grass.
This startled the other Pokémon resting nearby, leaving them trembling and frozen in fear.
Even Cain's own Pokémon barely tolerated Mismagius's presence.
"Did our Trainer capture a Pokémon this strong?"
Cain, however, knew that Mismagius wasn't as useful as it appeared. Tropius, at least, could serve as a flying mount. Mismagius seemed more like a decoration or a tool for intimidation.
After a while, Mismagius grew tired of spinning and noticed Slowpoke lounging on the ground. Its eyes lit up, and it quickly floated over to it.
Using telepathy, it began communicating with Slowpoke.
Although still slightly wary, Slowpoke followed Cain's orders and taught Mismagius some basic concepts. It also slipped in a few strange ideas, such as always obeying Cain and viewing anyone other than Cain as inherently evil.
Mismagius, a blank slate, absorbed everything it was taught, taking it very seriously.
As the other Pokémon noticed Mismagius wasn't as terrifying as they had thought, they slowly began approaching.
Before long, everyone was playing together.
Especially Skorupi, who also had a childlike mindset. It didn't understand the extent of Mismagius's power, so the two got along well.
Tropius, on the other hand, couldn't overcome its fear and retreated to a distant spot to continue sleeping.
Seeing that Mismagius was finally accepted by his Pokémon, Cain breathed a sigh of relief and returned his focus to Murkrow.
After eating the Pokéblocks, Murkrow remained motionless, showing no reaction—even to Mismagius's appearance.
Cain frowned as he checked the system data, monitoring the energy fluctuations within Murkrow. Over time, the fluctuations grew more intense.
Eventually, they stabilized at a high level.
Half an hour later, Murkrow opened its eyes, and Cain noticed a trace of exhaustion in its gaze.
The immense amount of energy had taken time to absorb.
"How are you feeling, Murkrow?" Cain asked.
"Caw! Caw!" Murkrow nodded, indicating it was fine.
Although it had felt uncomfortable, it could clearly sense an increase in strength.
At the very least, its physical power had improved significantly—one meal felt equivalent to several days of training.
Cain understood Murkrow's situation.
While it seemed like its power had increased rapidly, this method couldn't be used regularly. It was only a temporary measure to boost its quality. Prolonged use wouldn't benefit long-term growth and might even cause harm.
"To fully maximize the effects of the Dusk Stone, Murkrow, you'll have to endure a little longer. A few more times, and you should be ready," Cain said, gently stroking Murkrow's feathers with a hint of regret in his voice.
Murkrow's suffering didn't go unnoticed.
Even its physical appearance showed a clear change.
Previously, Murkrow had been about 60 centimeters tall, but after consuming the Pokéblocks, it had grown 3 centimeters taller, reaching 63 centimeters.
A visibly noticeable change.
No wonder Murkrow felt stronger physically.
