Chapter 133: Dragon Island? Lance's True Identity
Five days passed in the blink of an eye.
In addition to crafting energy cubes, Hikaru spent these days nurturing Gible's egg. He discovered that channeling Evergreen Force into the egg seemed to significantly reduce its incubation time.
---
On the fifth day, Sakura arrived as promised.
To Hikaru's surprise, she wasn't alone. Standing beside her was none other than Lance, accompanied by his Level 89 Dragonite.
"Good morning, big bro," Sakura greeted cheerfully.
She was dressed in a flowing white floral dress that accentuated her ethereal beauty.
Hikaru couldn't help but think she looked like the unattainable dream of many.
However, the outfit puzzled him.
Was this a trip to a secret realm?
She looked more like she was heading for a vacation!
"Ahem, good morning, Sakura. Good morning, Lance," Hikaru greeted hesitantly.
"Hop on, both of you. I'll take you there," Lance said, gesturing toward his Dragonite.
"What?" Hikaru froze.
What kind of secret realm required a Champion to personally escort them?
"Go ahead, big bro."
Still perplexed, Hikaru climbed onto Dragonite's back, making sure to remove the [Dragon Rider] trait beforehand.
Sakura quickly followed and, to his surprise, wrapped her arms around him, pressing her face against his back.
"All set!" she announced.
Hikaru stiffened, his entire body going rigid.
Her hair flowed in the wind, and a faint floral fragrance wafted to his nose.
"Alright," Lance said. Dragonite flapped its powerful wings, soaring into the sky.
Its incredible speed turned the ground below into a blur of passing scenery, like a slideshow on fast-forward. In mere seconds, they were out of Kyoto's region.
When Hikaru finally relaxed, he cautiously nudged Sakura's hand around his waist.
She leaned forward slightly, meeting his questioning gaze.
Using Aura, Hikaru communicated: "Why is Lance here too?"
Sakura blinked in surprise, then grinned mischievously. "He's my uncle~"
Hikaru: "..."
Lance, naturally, sensed the subtle Aura communication.
"Yes, I'm her uncle. My full name is Lance Hayashi."
Hikaru: "..."
Of course, a family connection...
It now made sense why the reigning World Champion was tied to the Hayashi family.
"Don't worry. As long as you're serious about your path as a trainer, I won't interfere with your relationship," Lance said with a smirk, misinterpreting Hikaru's awkward expression.
Hikaru fell silent.
Sakura, on the other hand, giggled. "Thanks, Uncle!"
"It'll take about ten more minutes," Lance informed them.
"What kind of secret realm is this, so far away?" Hikaru asked, astonished.
Considering Dragonite's speed, they had already traveled far beyond Kyoto.
"The Dragon Island. It's out at sea. Dragonite, use Extreme Speed!"
---
Ten minutes later, the endless expanse of the ocean came into view.
The early morning sun filtered through the mist, creating ethereal beams of light across the water.
Dragonite began to descend.
"We're here!" Lance announced as his Dragonite let out a long, resonant cry.
Moments later, another Dragonite emerged from the water.
This Dragonite looked familiar to Hikaru.
Sure enough, it flew up to them, waving cheerfully at Sakura.
"I missed you too!" Sakura said, jumping onto the new Dragonite.
"Take good care of them, Eighteen," Lance said, addressing the newly arrived Dragonite with a smile.
The Dragonite, affectionately named Eighteen, let out a hearty growl in response.
"Come on, big bro!" Sakura called, urging Hikaru to join her.
Hikaru hesitated.
Dragon Island was an incredibly rare opportunity, even for members of the Hayashi family. Wasn't it excessive to bring an "outsider" like him along?
Had Sakura gone to great lengths to secure this chance for him?
Before Hikaru could decide, two more Dragonite arrived, carrying a pair of young trainers in their early twenties.
Both looked to be seasoned trainers, though their Dragonite still bore some juvenile features, likely having recently evolved.
However, one Dragonite in particular caught Hikaru's attention.
Something seemed off about it. Should he say something?
"Uncle Lance!" the two young trainers greeted as they approached.
"You two should focus on strengthening your Dragon Tamer Power on this trip," Lance instructed, his tone more reserved.
"Yes, sir!"
"Off you go, Hikaru," Lance said, motioning for him to join Sakura.
With a deep breath, Hikaru jumped onto Eighteen's back, and the group of Dragonite took to the skies once more.
---
As the group departed, another Dragonite arrived.
Riding it was none other than Sakura's father.
However, this time, the two Dragonite squared off, their auras clashing fiercely.
The tension rippled across the sea below, creating waves that expanded outward.
"What's this? Are you here to challenge me?" Lance asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course not. You're the Champion," Sakura's father replied, his Dragonite backing down first.
"Then why are you here?"
"I'm here because you let that boy into Dragon Island. Do you think it's a good idea?"
Lance smirked. "Didn't you approve as well? Otherwise, how would he have made it this far?"
"That's different. Sakura said if I didn't let him come, she wouldn't go either."
At this, Sakura's father sighed heavily, clearly exasperated.
Lance chuckled.
"So, you're worried he'll steal your precious daughter away?"
Sakura's father fell silent, then muttered, "They're both so young… and she just returned to my side."
"Ah, you're reluctant to let go."
"It's more than that."
Despite his complaints, he knew there was no stopping Sakura.
"She's not easy to deceive. Let's see how that boy handles it."
With a hearty laugh, Lance's Dragonite shot into the sky, leaving Sakura's father behind, staring into the horizon.
"Kid, my daughter isn't someone you can win over so easily. Let's see if you're up to the challenge..."
