Alice was livid. However, her anger wasn't truly because of her Scyther's defeat. What really infuriated her were the words spoken by the commoner standing across from her just moments ago.

Defeat, however, was defeat. Alice, proud and thin-skinned as she was, couldn't stoop to shamelessly covering up her failure.

Although she dearly wanted to pummel Sato right there and then, she forced herself to endure the humiliation.

Yet, alongside her anger, Alice began to let go of her earlier underestimation of Sato and his Shiny Pelipper. Perhaps even she hadn't realized it yet, but her sense of superiority had been shaken.

This was a three-on-three battle, and with her Scyther defeated, she now only had two Pokémon left to defeat Sato. As much as she hated to admit it, this opponent of hers was indeed quite capable.

Moreover, due to incorrect information, turning the tide with her remaining two Pokémon would be no easy feat.

"Hmph, don't get cocky, you plebeian. I haven't lost yet! Come out, Jolteon, and fry that gull to a crisp!"

Alice recalled her fallen Scyther into a Luxury Ball before releasing her next Pokémon—a burly Jolteon—from a yellow Luxury Ball.

"Boom!" A deafening clap of thunder echoed.

Jolteon's entry was dramatic. A lightning bolt struck down from the dark clouds above the battlefield, and Jolteon appeared as though descending like the god of thunder, cloaked in a flash of lightning.

Seeing such a dramatic display, Sato's pupils contracted, and his expression grew slightly grim. From this entrance alone, it was clear that this Jolteon had an exceptional mastery of Electric-type energy.

This didn't bode well for his Shiny Pelipper.

"This Alice really has quite the collection of high-quality Pokémon. Another one that's just shy of a golden rating. Jolteon… in the games, this was always one of my favorite Special Attackers," Sato thought, a twinge of envy and nostalgia flashing in his eyes before quickly vanishing.

There was no time for sentimentality now. He had to devise a way to have his Shiny Pelipper either whittle down Jolteon's strength or even defeat it outright.

After all, the Battle Tower didn't allow for mid-battle Pokémon switches.

"Pelipper, disperse the rain clouds and fly low into the forested area," Sato commanded, glancing at the small wooded section of the Grass Field, an idea forming in his mind.

The rain clouds were summoned by Pelipper, so dispersing them wasn't much of an issue.

Following Sato's order, the Shiny Pelipper began to descend toward the forest, while focusing to dissipate the storm clouds above.

"Not so fast! Jolteon, use Thunder to strike that Pelipper down!" Alice immediately saw through Sato's intent.

Wasting no time, she commanded Jolteon to launch a counterattack before the clouds could fully clear.

As soon as Alice spoke, Jolteon crackled with electricity. Arcs of lightning shot upward, merging with the lingering rain clouds.

In an instant, the dissipating clouds stopped vanishing and instead began glowing with a web of blinding electric light.

With a thunderous roar from Jolteon, a massive bolt of lightning, thick as a barrel, came crashing down from the clouds. Twisting and zigzagging in midair, it raced toward the Shiny Pelipper heading into the woods.

The saying "the tallest tree gets struck first" wasn't without merit.

However, Sato's precise command and Pelipper's quick reflexes proved effective. Before Jolteon's Thunder could land, Pelipper managed to dive into the forest.

The bolt of lightning redirected to the tallest, water-soaked tree instead.

The result?

The massive tree was split clean in two, its charred halves smoldering ominously. A few small flames flickered but were quickly snuffed out by the damp environment.

That was close. Pelipper, still shaken, glanced back at the destroyed tree, grateful for Sato's sharp tactical thinking. If that lightning had hit, it would've been fried to a crisp on the spot.

Now that the storm clouds had exhausted their charge, Jolteon could no longer maintain their presence, and they rapidly dissipated.

At that moment, a high-pressure jet of water burst from the wooded area, targeting the hesitant Jolteon.

While the Grass Field was advantageous for hiding, it wasn't friendly to Electric-types like Jolteon, especially with so many trees acting as natural insulators.

Sato exploited this weakness by ensuring Pelipper dried the woods with wind, reducing their conductivity and making Jolteon's Electric-type moves less effective.

"Dodge and rush in! Use Thunderbolt!" Alice's quick thinking kept her in the game. Jolteon nimbly sidestepped the Hydro Pump and dashed into the woods at lightning speed.

"You're still too young! Pelipper, fly out and hit it with Hurricane!" Sato smirked, watching Alice fall into his trap. The moment Jolteon entered the woods, its speed advantage and type dominance diminished.

Pelipper quickly exited the forest and unleashed a devastating Hurricane, a massive vortex of wind pulling in leaves, twigs, and—unfortunately for Jolteon—Electric-type Pokémon.

"Don't give up! Use Magnet Rise to stabilize and then hit it with Thunderbolt!" Alice's command was sharp and decisive.

Using Magnet Rise, Jolteon generated a magnetic field, stabilizing itself in the vortex. It then unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt, piercing through the winds and striking Pelipper head-on.

Pelipper let out a pained cry before plummeting to the ground, its body charred and smoking. A quadruple-weakness attack was too much, even for a sturdy Pokémon like Pelipper.

It was struck down in a single, super- effective hit.

Under Alice's skilled direction, Jolteon had successfully turned the tide. Sato's Shiny Pelipper was down for the count.
