Without the girls being able to do anything, Ash entered the house with Squirtle.

There was practically no fire around me. In fact, the fire was practically out. However, there were still parts not extinguished, flames that burned strongly and that did not seem to be going out (or so it seemed)

"Is there anyone?!" – I asked shouting.

"Squirtle!" – Squirtle shouted.

Fuck, the smoke is making me cough. I think I didn't think very well when I walked into this house.

We didn't get a response, so we just went up some stairs that looked a little bad. However, since no one answered on the ground floor, we had no choice but to do it. Luckily, the stairs didn't collapse or anything like that, is it because of the luck of the protagonist?

Anyway, when we went up, we shouted again.

"Is anyone here?! I think we should have asked where the girl was before enter!" – I said.

Squirtle nodded. He was actually right, but the mother's pain was so strong, that Squirtle felt the urge to go help and didn't stop to think about anything else, he simply wanted to help ease her pain, but he couldn't think about other things like the location of the girl or the poor condition the house was in inside.

I was going to say something else, but suddenly...

"Someone help me!" -someone shouted.

It was the cry of what seemed to be a girl because the voice sounded childish.

"Where are you?!" – I shouted.

"Squirtle!" – Squirtle shouted.

"In the back room!" – shouted the voice.

But she said it if she were crying and could barely say those words without breaking down in tears.

"Come on, Squirtle!" – I said.

"Squir" – Squirtle nodded.

We went to the back room. But unfortunately, when we arrived, the door of the room was still on fire, preventing us from entering.

"It's your turn, use Water Gun!" – I said.

"Squirtle!" – Squirtle nodded.

Careful not to damage the already flimsy structure, Squirtle sprayed a strong stream of water towards the door shutting it down in no time.

"Well done!" – I said.

Then, I kicked the door, which broke because of how fragile it had become due to the fire and there, curled up in a corner, was a fragile looking little girl, skin as white as snow and hair of the same color tied in two twintails, wearing what appeared to be pink pajamas and curled up crying.

As we entered, the girl looked at us cautiously.

"Don't worry, we have come to help you" – I said with a smile.

Fuck, I'm getting a little dizzy. I think I'm starting to feel the symptoms of smoke inhalation poisoning. I have to get out of here quickly.

Seeing her savior's beautiful face, the girl pounced on him and hugged him.

"Onii-chan, I'm scared!" – said the girl hugging me tightly.

"Squir!" – Squirtle said.

It was as if he was saying... "I collaborated too!"

"There's no time for this. Come on, the house could collapse at any moment, we have to get out of here" – I said.

I grabbed the girl in princess mode and together with Squirtle we headed for the stairs, but just as I set foot on them, the stairs cracked and broke completely. Luckily, I reacted in time and was able to regain my balance instantly.

"Almost so!" – I said somewhat scared.

"Squirtle?!" – Squirtle asked alarmed.

Now his only way out was gone! How were they going to get out of this house that was about to collapse?!

"Don't worry, I have an idea, come on, follow me!" – I said.

Squirtle nodded and followed the human back into the room.

"Squirtle?" – Squirtle asked without understanding.

"Trust me and use Water Gun against the wall" – I said.

Due to the fragility of this building or house, I'm sure a simple Water Gun could break through the wall... Although that would probably bring everything down, but there is no other option.

Squirtle looked at the human's face and nodded, he would trust him, after all, he had nothing to lose and there was no other way out of there.

Squirtle nodded and launched the most powerful Water Gun of his entire life, breaking the wall and exposing a huge hole.

"Now, Charizard, I choose you!" – I exclaimed.

Charizard stepped out of her Pokéball and stood on the edge of the hole.

"Go down" – I said.

Then, I grabbed Squirtle and got on the back of my Charizard.

"Char!" – Charizard exclaimed.

Then, Charizard slowly lowered to the ground, where immediately, I fell to the ground exhausted Actually I was at my limit for a long time, but I held on due to the girl and Squirtle.

"Ash!" – the girls shouted.

The girls quickly came over and helped me sit down while the nurses told them where I should be placed. By the way, Nurse Joy also came to check on Squirtle's condition.

In the end everything went well. The girl was successfully rescued and did not suffer any injuries.

As for me and Squirtle, we were not harmed either. After putting on an oxygen mask for a few minutes, I recovered 100%, while Squirtle was completely fine. Probably because of how close he was to the ground.

The mother also thanked us again and again. She was truly grateful for having saved her daughter from a possible death and finally it was time for us to leave, but...

"Hey, can you wait a moment? I want to ask you a question" – said a firefighter.

The ambulances had already left and Nurse Joy also returned to the Pokémon Center, so it was only the fire department and us. In other words, me, Celeste, Roxanne, Koharu, Pikachu and the Squirtle since I returned Charizard to her Pokéball a few minutes after my recovery.

"Is something wrong?" – I asked curiously.

"Nothing happens. It's just that I've seen the performance of these Squirtles in person and I liked it. Their water-type attacks are extremely powerful and I want them in my team, are they yours?" – asked the firefighter.

The City is very large, so it's normal that he don't know the Squirtle squad.

"No, they're just the Squirtle squad. I don't know if you've heard about them before" - I denied.

"What? Are they them? But I thought they were just making jokes to the people" - said the firefighter somewhat surprised.

Who in this city hadn't heard of the Squirtle squad?

"Yes, but... we had a talk and they are trying to reform themselves" – I nodded.

"Perfect, I think it's great that they decided to stop making those jokes. So I'm going to offer you something!" – said the firefighter.

"Squir?" - asked the boss.

His subordinates also stared at the firefighter, wanting to know what he was going to offer them.

"I want you in my team. You are strong and your Water-type attacks are so powerful that they even match those Wartotle, so I want you to help us. Of course it won't be fpr free. I will give you a place to live and pay you some money so that you don't have to steal. What do you say?" – offered the firefighter.

Ehem, I know it sounds strange that they give money to Pokémon, but the truth is that most of them are smart enough to know how to use them and yes, companies, stores, etc. Not only do they hire people, but they also hire Pokémon and they are also paid a salary. Slthough Pokémon prefer to live in the wild, so they use the money they earn to buy food that would normally take a long time to get in the wild. Don't you remember the Machoke who work in construction? Well, I was curious when I remembered it and found out all the information I just told you.

"Squir..." – said one of the subordinates.

Everyone looked to their boss for an answer, but the boss didn't want to work for the firefighters. He had something else on his mind...
