Reincarnated As Serena

Chapter 5: Travel Confirmation

"So, Serena. Are you excited to go to Summer Camp!!!" An elderly voice asks me across a video chat at the Pokémon center.

"O...f, ovvvvvvv, of course!!!" My voice slipping out in a mixture of excitement and nervousness. THE, Professor Oak was before me. Well on video, but still. I couldn't believe it. Internally though I also cracked up at the thought of him in the Pokémon games. "Are you a boy or a girl..." Little too accurate for my situation. My meeting with the man was predetermined though. After heading to the Pokémon center to get some official information filled out, since I was now old enough to take care of a Pokémon under the guidance of another person. We had found out from one of Mom's friends about the professor's summer camp before. Now however, I could officially sign up for it.

I would be meeting ASH. THE ASH KETCHUM. I couldn't believe it. I was super excited, and nervous. My heart was beating with wild abandon. I was so HYPED!!! Focusing on the video once more I confirmed my decision. "Professor, please let me attend your camp!!! I want to learn about Pokémon, the different kinds. Their habits. What they like!!! I'm super curious! My high-pitched voice naturally amused the man.

"Yes, yes, calm down now. You'll need to prepare, won't you?"

Obviously, we were mostly done with that having prepared before. "We're almost done with that professor."

"Great then!!!"

Holding my hair with one of my hands twirling it. I focused back on the conversation having my mind drift for a second. "Professor, when I get there. How many people are showing up?" The question was valid in my mind. The more kids I'd need to be around. The worse this could end up being. While I was excited about learning, and the Pokémon involved. I wasn't as excited with social interaction. Currently I wasn't even comfortable in my own body. Much less showing it off proudly like the previous serena did. I didn't mind being around a couple people. But crowds could be a problem for now. I felt vulnerable in a way.

Obviously, the professor wouldn't even consider my current issue since he'd likely at least knew about how the previous Serena acted. He wouldn't accept just anybody into his political faction in this world. Oh great... Politics. I wonder if I'd need to deal with that. I'd also likely need to look into the law and get used to that sort of things. At least laws concerning trainers and performers. Maybe I could also look into other occupations since this was a real world. Then again, I was supposed to be the champion of Chance. So, likely I'd need to be in public eye eventually. Likely, I'd need to follow in the original Sabrena's footsteps and become a Performist of some kind. Honestly, even in my original life it was a dream of mine. I was curious what kind of shows I could create with different Pokémon.

"Oh, don't worry about it Sabrena. They'll be tons of people and Pokémon there to become friends with. You won't need to worry about it a single little bit."

Of, course they'd be plenty of trainers. Likely professor Oak wanted to leave a lasting impression on the new generation. Cement his position for years to come and help pave the way for his grandson to take over in some capacity. Of course, I didn't want to draw any more attention to myself by acting differently. So, with a deep breath I gave the brightest smile I could and jumped up in excitement. "Sounds great Professor. I'm looking forward to it."

With that the confirmation for me going on this trip was set. It would be a chance to get away from my new family and get used to this new life of mine. Who knows though, maybe, just maybe I'd find a real friend through all this. Most real friendships start from a young age, don't they? Maybe this time things could be different. Maybe in this world. I could actually find some friends interested in the same things I was.
