Succubus System At Hogwarts

Chapter 50: (50) Christmas Gifts

When Ian and his friends returned to the castle.

They were greeted by the sight of a massive Christmas tree standing in the castle lobby.

It was twelve feet tall and adorned with golden lights, glittering like a magical beacon.

"This is so beautiful," Ron said, staring at the enormous tree in awe.

"Yeah, it's really beautiful," Harry agreed, his gaze fixed on the twinkling lights.

"Alright, I'm heading back to the dormitory," Ian said, raising his eyes slightly. "I need to get Themis to deliver these gifts as soon as possible. You two should go back to your dormitory; curfew's coming up soon."

"Okay, Ian. Merry Christmas in advance," Harry and Ron said in unison, watching Ian head off.

"Merry Christmas, Harry, Ron," Ian replied with a wave, not bothering to look back.

After returning to the Slytherin common room, Ian began sorting through his gifts.

"A ruby necklace for Hermione, an emerald ring for Cassandra, a broom care kit for Harry, a wizard chess set for Ron..."

Ian murmured to himself as he sketched on a piece of parchment with a quill. "And gifts for Uncle and Aunt Granger, Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape..."

"Huh..." Ian looked at the pile of gifts and sighed in relief. "Themis, it's a good thing you're here. Otherwise, I'd have no idea how to manage all this."

The golden eagle owl, Themis, perched on her stand, held her head high in a display of pride, as if to say, Of course, you stupid kid. Who else could handle this?

"Alright, stop showing off," Ian said with a smile, carefully loading the gifts onto Themis' back. "Go early and come back early, good girl."

Humph! So you don't think of me as a bad girl after all. Themis affectionately rubbed Ian's cheek with her head before spreading her wings and soaring out the window.

Ian watched her silhouette fade into the sky before turning back and heading to the dormitory.

The next morning, Ian was awakened by Themis.

Chirp! Chirp!

The golden eagle owl nudged Ian's cheek insistently with her head, chirping and poking as if to say, Wake up, you lazy little wizard.

"Alright, alright, I'm up!"

Ian grumbled, rubbing his eyes as he sat up in bed.

Themis, seeing that Ian was awake, flew back to her perch and tilted her head, staring at him.

"Next time, can you use a gentler way of waking me up?" Ian grumbled as he got dressed. "My face is going to be rubbed raw because of you."

Themis chirped softly, turned her head to the side, and ignored Ian completely.

"Alright, alright, you're the boss, you have the final say," Ian said with a laugh, unable to stay annoyed at her. "Did you deliver all the gifts?"

Themis gave a satisfied nod and fluttered back to Ian's shoulder.

"Let's go, let's see who sent me gifts," Ian said, patting Themis on the back before heading toward the Slytherin lounge.

The moment Ian stepped into the lounge, his eyes widened at the sight of the Christmas tree surrounded by an impressive mountain of gifts.

Various brightly wrapped boxes piled up, creating an extravagant display.

"The ring from Hermione, the scarf from Cassandra, the Golden Snitch model from Harry, the pure gold snake ornament from Draco, and used wizard chess from Ron as well as this cozy sweater from his Mum... Are the Weasleys trying to coax me like Harry? Heh~"

Ian listed aloud as he opened the gifts one by one, his grin growing wider with each unwrapped box.

"A windbreaker from Uncle and Aunt Granger, Transfiguration notes from Professor McGonagall, Charms notes from Professor Flitwick, Felix Felicis materials from Professor Sprout... and— Damn! A Felix Felicis itself from Professor Snape?"

Ian froze, staring in awe at the small bottle in his hand. "A whole bottle of Felix Felicis!"

Felix Felicis was an extraordinarily rare potion, always in high demand and difficult to acquire. The fact that Snape had gifted him an entire bottle left Ian speechless. He had initially planned to collect the ingredients and ask Snape to help him brew one, but this... this was beyond his expectations.

"It looks like my Christmas luck is off to an amazing start," Ian muttered to himself, staring at the shimmering golden liquid.

Carefully tucking the Felix Felicis away, Ian turned his attention to the largest gift box in the pile.

The gift box was noticeably larger than the others, tied with a golden ribbon that gave it an air of elegance.

"Merry Christmas, Ian. This is an alchemical necklace for you, which can help you avoid all but the three Unforgivable Curses. Maybe it can be regarded as compensation," Ian silently read from the card before opening the box.

Inside was an intricately crafted alchemical necklace.

The pendant hung on the chain was exquisitely detailed, engraved with complex magical patterns, and adorned with a dark green gem at its center. It sparkled beautifully under the light.

"Very beautiful," Ian murmured, running his fingers over the intricate designs.

He immediately understood that this was Dumbledore's way of compensating him. After all, the Invisibility Cloak—one of the Deathly Hallows—should have traditionally belonged to Harry, the eldest son of the family.

While Ian would have preferred the Invisibility Cloak over the alchemical necklace, he resigned himself to his fate. After all, he was the youngest son.

The history ran through his mind. Iolante Peverell, the granddaughter of Ignotus Peverell, had inherited the cloak from her grandfather. With no male heirs in her generation, the cloak passed to her. When she married Hardwin Potter, the Peverell tradition dictated that the ownership of the cloak be kept secret and passed down to the eldest son in each generation of the Potter family.

The youngest son has no human rights, Ian thought with an inward sigh.

He carefully tucked the alchemical necklace away and decided to find Harry and Ron.

"Harry, Ron, Merry Christmas!"

Ian called as he approached the door of the Gryffindor common room, running into the two of them.

"Ian, Merry Christmas!" Harry and Ron greeted him in unison. "Thank you for the gifts—we love them."

"I like your gifts too," Ian said with a grin, gesturing to the sweater he was wearing, which had a large "I" knitted into it. "Ron, I haven't had the chance to thank your mum for this sweater. It's very nice."

Ron blushed slightly. "As long as you like it. Mum knits them herself."

"Ian, what gifts did you get?" Harry asked eagerly.

Ian could see the anticipation in Harry's eyes—he was clearly hoping Ian might have received something "special" from James.

"I received a lot. Besides gifts from you two, there were gifts from professors, and even some from people I don't know," Ian said with a shake of his head, looking a bit distressed. "Most of them are from girls."

Ron looked at Ian enviously. "Must be nice being handsome—girls you don't even know are giving you gifts."

Harry nodded in agreement but couldn't help asking, "Ian, did you get any special gifts?"

"Special gifts?" Ian acted momentarily puzzled, but then he chuckled and said, "Are you talking about this?"

Ian pulled out the alchemical necklace hanging around his neck.

"I don't know who sent it to me," Ian said casually, "but they called it 'compensation.'"

Harry's face lit up. "Someone gave me something too! Look at this—it's an invisibility cloak!" He quickly showed Ian the cloak.

"Wow! That's so cool!" Ian exclaimed, his envy plain on his face, though internally he cursed the unfairness of being the younger brother once again.

The youngest son really has no human rights! Why does everything have to go to the eldest son?

Harry, noticing Ian's reaction, removed the cloak and handed it to Ian with a serious expression. "This was father's cloak, I think you should have the right to use it too, Ian."

Although Ian was tempted, the image of Dumbledore's scheming face flashed in his mind, and he immediately decided against it.

No way. I'm not letting the old bee play mind games with me.

Ian pushed the cloak back into Harry's hands with great reluctance. "Harry, if they gave it to you, it means they think you need it more than I do."

"But—"

Harry started, only to be interrupted by Ian.

"If I ever want to use it, I'll just borrow it from you. You wouldn't say no to that, would you?"

Ian said with a laugh, playfully nudging Harry on the shoulder.

"Of course not!"

Harry replied earnestly. "Ian, if you ever need it, I'll give it to you right away."

"That's settled then." Ian spread his hands with a grin. "Now, stop overthinking and get ready. Professor Dumbledore's going to take us to the old house."

Harry nodded, quickly putting the invisibility cloak away. He, Ian, and Ron made their way to the castle gate together.

Dumbledore was already waiting for them when they arrived. As soon as he saw them, he smiled warmly and led the group to the Potter family's old house.
