The Curse of Time (Harry Potter Fanfic)

Chapter 93: Lucius Malfoy

"I would like to sincerely thank you for your service. You saved young Weasley and prevented Hogwarts from closing its doors, and for that, I can only thank you sincerely."

Dumbledore leaned back in his chair to reassure me.

"Thank you, but it must be known that if Marie had not been petrified, I wouldn't have been so focused on deciphering the trickery and finding a way to open the Chamber of Secrets. I would have succeeded in about a month according to my estimate, but not so quickly. If I hadn't found a solution, I would have had to involve Harry in the plan so he could open the doors, and that would have been one of the worst methods. We both know how fearless he is."

"So, the petrification of Miss Saturn was somewhat like a necessary sacrifice."

I furrowed my brow at his words, which I didn't appreciate.

"Can we not talk like that?"

"Sorry, sometimes I forget not to say out loud what I'm thinking, even though I find Miss Saturn's petrification deeply unfortunate."

I handed him the remnants of the burning notebook and explained that it was a Horcrux.

I also told him that I now had a way to destroy the diadem.

"I don't advise you to do it now. The venom hasn't fully soaked into your katana yet, and I'm sure Helena Ravenclaw would like to witness the destruction of the object that caused her so much suffering."

"I agree with you, but I wouldn't want to do it here either. The tiara could have defensive mechanisms or protections, so it's better to do it in an isolated place while keeping it secured here."

I stood up and stroked Fawkes, who was now a magnificent phoenix.

"About Ginny, we agree she won't face any punishment?"

"A person with a pure heart should never have endured such an ordeal. She wasn't truly responsible for the events, so no sanction will be taken against her."

Even though I was confident, I wanted to ask just to be sure. I was prepared to defend her to ensure she could stay.

"I believe your bravery and assistance to the school deserve 400 points for Ravenclaw."

Even though my goal wasn't to earn house points, knowing it couldn't be dismissed with a simple "however" still brought me satisfaction.

As we were about to continue our conversation, the door opened to reveal Lucius Malfoy, Draco's father and former Death Eater.

"So, you've returned."

"Indeed. Several members of the school administration requested my return after a pure-blood student was kidnapped. Also, I heard you were accused of threatening some members of the council."

"They can say what they want; it will remain false testimony as long as they have no proof."

From a logical standpoint, he wasn't entirely wrong.

Looking down, I noticed a house-elf looking terrified as he darted his eyes left and right.

"Fortunately, Miss Longbottom put an end to this conspiracy and killed the monster."

"Oh, and who was the heir of Salazar?"

I'm pretty sure he knew it was Ginny.

"The same person as 50 years ago, but in the form of a memory."

How could he know? When did Ginny meet him?

Dumbledore showed the book, and Lucius had a look of fear before regaining his serene expression.

Wait a minute, the easiest way to hide a book is with another book, and the twins had mentioned an argument between their father and Lucius.

All the pieces of the puzzle finally came together to form a clear picture.

"Come on, Dobby, we're going home."

And he kicked the elf.

I remembered that Dobby was the elf who had prevented Harry from having communication with the outside world, as well as being responsible for the 9 ¾ seal or the mad bludgers.

"Professor Dumbledore, may I take the book for something?"

"Of course, after all, it's just paper with half of it destroyed."

Hermione told me that according to Harry Dobby he did it of his own free will so that means being free won't bother him.

I took one of my socks and put it in the book before meeting Lucius.
