Chapter 649: A Dance With Death
A Few Years Later…
Notifying his family to return to the stronghold, they arrived one after another.
"Are we going to hunt apex dark beasts this time, Father?"
"I wonder how strong it is."
"Uncle Zar said it's only a little stronger than a master of the ocean of law."
"Then it's easy!"
Having completed the precondition their father set of defeating a tier-11 predatory dark beast without injury, all of them had advanced to become masters of the ocean of law.
With their increased strength and combat abilities, even the girls who had been complaining earlier no longer felt fear.
They were even a little excited, wondering how much of a challenge these apex dark beasts could pose.
If they could defeat them, did that mean they were supreme under the absolutes?
Excited to test how much they had grown, they couldn't wait to go out and fight.
"Since you're confident, let's go," Maximus said with a smile.
Boarding the shadow void ship, the whole family—except for Liam—set out.
---
Over a hundred years later, after traversing the treacherous dark void domain and killing countless dark beasts, they finally arrived at their target.
"It's smaller than the rest."
If a normal dark beast was like a colossal monster of destruction, the one before them looked very proportioned.
Having a perfect body build for combat, it gave them a sense of majesty.
Appeared to have sensed their presence, it looked around the void.
"Wander, enter extreme stealth mode. It seems this beast is more sensitive than I thought."
One had to know that in normal mode, the shadow void ship could hide even from the presence of an absolute.
Seeing the apex dark beast easily sense them, Maximus felt intrigued.
These apex dark beasts seemed to have more to them than just a different body structure.
"Father, how about you leave it to us?"
Eager to fight, Max and the others proposed.
"Hmm, then be careful."
Maximus was only interested in dissecting the apex dark beast, not fighting it.
Seeing they were eager to test their strength, he didn't mind letting them try.
After a quick discussion, the boys—Max, Nathan, Sam, Luke, Neo, and Lux—decided to take this round.
Although confident in their strength, they knew they still didn't have the ability to kill a dark beast comparable to a master of the ocean of law single-handedly.
"Watch your brother kill this beast!" Max said confidently, leading the group out.
"Don't be too overconfident, brother. You might slip up," Sam reminded.
"Hahaha, don't I have you at my back? This is easy."
"Tsk, then can I not go?" Neo muttered lazily.
"What do you think?" Max asked with a grin.
"Tsk."
"Do you need help cleaning the mobs?" Lily asked in concern.
"Just sit back and relax, sister. Hey, you five, come help us clean a wave." Max waved at Silvan, Martin, Lance, Ethan, and Maxwell.
Dragging Neo and their helpless nephew, they exited the void ship.
Emerging from the veil of the ship, the apex dark beast, coupled with a wave of predatory and feral dark beasts, quickly noticed their presence.
"Attack!"
With a coordinated assault, Max and his brothers swiftly surrounded the apex dark beast.
Launching a simultaneous attack, the void trembled and exploded.
Boom~
Feeling confident, they looked to see if their target had been harmed.
"Huh? Where is it?"
Suddenly, before they could react, a flash zipped past the mechanically armored Sam.
Bang~
"Brother!"
Shooting out from the battlefield, their confidence turned into fear.
"Don't be in a daze; concentrate on your fight. Sam is safe with me." Suddenly, their father's voice rang in their ears.
Hearing that Sam was safe, they quickly heaved a sigh of relief.
Looking at the apex dark beast, which stayed motionless after the attack as if mocking them, their expressions turned solemn.
What's just a little stronger than a usual master of the ocean of law?
Facing this monster was no different from facing an absolute powerhouse!
That Uncle Zar had fooled them to death!
Fortunately, their father was always behind.
Fighting the fear rising inside them, they faced the dark beast with everything they had.
Unfortunately, in just the blink of an eye, they felt pain before finding themselves inside the shadow void ship.
Even Silvan and the others who had been fighting the mobs were there.
"What happened?" Max asked, looking around.
"Father saved all of you," Lily said seriously.
Fortunately, their father was present; otherwise, they would have already died due to their recklessness.
It seemed they couldn't trust that reckless friend of their father.
This monster was far out of their league.
"Not bad. It seems your strength has increased a lot." Contrary to their expectations, Maximus gave them high praise.
Facing an apex dark beast despite their fear, Maximus felt his children had grown.
"Father, you don't have to console us." Feeling down, they assumed Maximus was only trying to comfort them.
"Hahaha, don't feel too discouraged. You're only at the tier-10 realm."
"Although you've mastered the power of the ocean of law, it hasn't fully matured yet."
With their current strength, it was impressive enough that they hadn't frozen in fear.
Facing such a monster, even Maximus felt threatened, much less his children.
Hearing their father's words, they gradually calmed down.
It seemed they had become too arrogant lately.
Thinking they could be invincible under the realm of the absolutes, reality had given them a harsh check.
"But can we defeat it with our current strength?" Max asked, unwilling to give up.
"Sure, as long as you become an ultimate master of combat, you should be able to defeat it,"
"This… I'll work hard!"
Clenching his fists, Max vowed to become an ultimate master of combat.
Stay connected through empire
"Then, I'll look forward to that day."
Having a hardworking and ambitious son, what more could Maximus ask for?
"For now, I'll show you how an ultimate combat master can defeat these monsters."
Wanting to set an example for his family, Maximus decided not to use his suppressive strength this time.
Stepping out of the shadow void ship, he slowly flew toward the tense apex dark beast, ready to pounce on him at a moment's notice.
"Are you ready to dance?"
