Your Raid Leader

Chapter 25: The Last Stand at the Bridge

It was impenetrable—a fortress that stood unwavering against an onslaught of 50 enemies.

On the Frostwolf Clan's bridge, a single, small girl stood alone, holding the line against an army.

Everyone who saw her felt it: this was overwhelming.

The sheer presence born from an unbridgeable gap in skill and talent made her appear like a towering giant despite her petite frame.

Every ranged attack raining down on her, every shielded knight charging at her—all of it was stopped, blocked, or deflected.

Still, those who faced her believed one thing: time was on their side.

They thought that the girl standing against them, holding the line with the support of her healers, would eventually falter. If they just kept pressing, eventually, she would crumble.

That was the moment a flash of sunlight erupted from her sword.

The Scared Sword, gleaming with the light of the sun, cut through the barrage of incoming attacks.

She wasn't just defending anymore—she was on the attack.

The girl, [Yeon], was growing accustomed to the speed, the rhythm, the flow of battle.

With every swing of the sword, her skill sharpened further, as if her talent was being refined into a keener edge.

The stats of her legendary weapon accelerated her growth.

The white-hot pain burning in her mind only served as the crucible for her ascension.

And then, Yeon made her decision.

The shield in her hand vanished. Gripping her sword with both hands, she moved faster, becoming a blur of motion.

Her shield? It was unnecessary, a hindrance.

The absence of her shield naturally meant a drop in her defense, and it didn't take long for the enemy to notice.

As if they'd been waiting for this exact moment, the melee fighters charged in unison.

"Push her off the bridge!"

They didn't need to defeat her. They had already realized the impossibility of such a feat.

Instead, their objective was simple: shove her off the bridge and into the darkness of the abyss below.

Yeon's foot slid back slightly under the pressure. Her upper body was momentarily exposed, and a rogue seized the opportunity, lunging forward with his dagger.

But that, too, was part of her plan.

Pivoting on her back foot, Yeon spun, and the golden light of her sword carved through the air in a graceful arc. The rogue's dagger, along with his head, was cleaved in a single stroke.

Slash!

Her movements didn't stop. Like a snake striking its next target, her sword darted toward an oncoming knight.

Clang!

The blow struck the knight's lower body, shattering his balance. His stance crumbled, exposing his upper body.

His helmet protected his head, but the eyes behind it were wide with shock.

Yeon moved like lightning. Twisting her body slightly, she drove her sword straight into the knight's faceplate, piercing through.

And still, she didn't stop.

Using her immense strength stat, she lifted the dying knight's body and used it as a human shield.

BOOM!

The lifeless knight's back absorbed the hail of incoming attacks.

Then, with a powerful kick, Yeon sent his body flying off the side of the bridge.

The second wave of melee fighters had been thwarted.

For a brief moment, the battle reached a stalemate.

Of course, the enemy's ranged attacks continued relentlessly, arrows and spells raining down on her.

"Yeon!"

The panicked cry came from one of the healers behind her.

She didn't need to look to know what it meant.

Their mana was running out. They wouldn't be able to sustain her much longer.

Yeon raised her sword high. The enemy melee fighters, clearly wary, didn't approach.

Instead, they formed a protective wall around their ranged dps, ready to intercept any sudden charge from her.

Just then, a message appeared in the raid chat.

[We've reached the enemy command tower!]

Finally. Relief washed over her face as a small smile tugged at her lips.

How long had it been? It felt like an eternity.

Despite the attacks that continued to chip away at her health, she held firm.

The golden [Solar Mantle] effect around her began to fade, its light dissipating slowly.

That was her signal.

Gripping her sword tightly, Yeon drove it into the ground.

[Solar Sanctuary]

CRACK!

The icy ground beneath her feet began to melt as radiant sunlight erupted outward.

Golden light flooded the battlefield, a divine aura spreading from her position.

The time for waiting was over. Now was the time to advance.

Pulling her sword from the ground, she leveled it at the enemy forces.

Under the effects of the Sanctuary, her stats surged, and her wounded body began to heal as if regenerating.

"Not bad."

Her enhanced stats were impressive, but even with the best gear of the season, her full potential wasn't yet unlocked.

"But it's enough."

The unfamiliar skill and its radiant display left the enemy momentarily stunned.

Using this opportunity, Yeon cast a self-heal, preparing for her next move.

[Berserk]

Her vision turned crimson. Time seemed to slow, her surroundings crawling as if the world itself had been dragged into quicksand.

The grip of her sword creaked, as if crying under the pressure of her strength.

Bending slightly at the waist, she took a deep breath, leaning into the motion.

And then—

BOOM!

With a burst of mana exploding beneath her feet, she activated [Charge].

The combined effects of her increased stats, Berserk, and the Sanctuary propelled her forward like almost like a bullet.

Her small frame shot across the bridge, closing the distance to the enemy frontlines in an instant.

CRASH!

The impact was devastating.

Yeon collided with a knight at the front of the enemy formation, sending the massive, shielded warrior flying in the sky.

Bathed in the radiant light of the sun, Yeon began swinging her sword.

The enemy threw everything they had at her: stuns, slows, and other crowd-control skills. But the healers behind her activated their shields abilities, nullifying the effects and keeping her unstoppable.

At that moment, Yeon became an unstoppable force.

She was a war machine, her blade cutting through anything and everything in her path.

Heads flew into the air with every swing of her sword.

CRACK!

When her sword severed the final enemy's head, a translucent message appeared before her eyes.

[Victory!]

* * * *

Yeon, the little girl who had become a towering figure in Deren Online, was now a name everyone knew.

Though her fame had risen rapidly, it was undeniable—if you were a player frequenting the Deren Online forums, you'd know who she was.

Her 'custom' character design, small and endearingly cute, was a stark contrast to her overwhelming skill and precision. Coupled with the charmingly innocent moments she showed on broadcasts and her occasional icy reprimands, her image was something between adorable and awe-inspiring.

While there had been minor controversies—like being accused of ninja-looting gold on the very first day of her raid leadership—Yeon had resolved the situation neatly by distributing all loot fairly the very next morning. That incident, instead of tarnishing her reputation, only added to her mystique. Many began to think of it as part of her 'extreme roleplay' style, a method to keep up a particular image.

Her recent interview with an online gaming journalist further solidified her status.

A middle schooler seeking the 'romance' of Deren Online—it wasn't long before she was crowned the 'gallery goddess', a title given to players who became community icons.

And because of this, everything Yeon did became a hot topic.

[Deren Online Gallery]

[The Gallery Goddess Goes Zhang Mode hahahahaha] [17]

(Zhang refers to Zhang Fei's legendary stand at a bridge in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, where he single-handedly held off an army)

(Image of Yeon standing alone on the Frostwolf Clan's bridge blocking 50 enemies.)

[This is so badass, they can't break through]

[Comments]

ㄴ[This is so cool]

ㄴ[Certified.

 ㄴ[What's certified?]

ㄴ[Certified as worthy of the title 'Gallery Goddess,' you morons.]

ㄴ[Can she really hold them all off?]

 ㄴ[Maybe it's just a well-timed screenshot]

ㄴ[She has healers backing her up, so she might be able to hold out for a while]

ㄴ[Heuuungg… is the middle schooler really pulling a Zhang?]

Every Deren Online player had, at some point, fantasized about moments like that—standing as an unshakable wall, an unstoppable hero. But deep down, most knew it was an unattainable dream. They were just average players.

But that screenshot—it was enough to reignite the spark of dormant aspirations.

As players reveled in the excitement, the same user posted another update.

[The Gallery Goddess 'Next!']

(Image of Yeon pointing her sword at the enemy faction while surrounded by the bodies of defeated enemies.)

"ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ"

[Comments]

ㄴ[Still holding the line? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ insane."

ㄴ[What the hell ㅋㅋㅋㅋ this is so badass ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ"

ㄴ[But isn't she only holding out because of the healers?"

ㄴ[Why don't you try it yourself, you idiot]

ㄴ[Okay, give me three healers and I'll try lol]

ㄴ[For fucks sake, no one's going to queue for the battlefield today. All the tryhards hyped up by this post will probably stand at bridges pretending to be Zhang]

ㄴ[So true lolol, wannabe Zhang players incoming]

Of course, there was no actual proof that Yeon had said, 'Next!' during the match.

But it didn't matter. The image of her character became inseparable from the mythos being created around her.

The community, exhilarated by the spectacle, continued to build upon Yeon's legend.

[Look to Yeon if You Ask About Frostwolf's Future.] [127]

[Seeing this makes me want to join her raid. Or at least her guild…]

[I used to think people who got too emotionally invested in games were idiots, but today… I think I'm falling for her.

Yeon isn't just a ninja—she's the ninja. She stole my heart]

[Comments]

ㄴ[Wasn't this guy the one always roasting hardcore nerds for being overly invested in games?]

ㄴ[Looks like he got hooked Hahhahaha]

ㄴ[For real… she's a ninja. A middle school ninja]

ㄴ[Did she steal your heart too?]

ㄴ[Yeah… it hurts. Is this what love feels like?]

ㄴ[Why isn't anyone arresting these creeps?]

ㄴ[Can arena-ranked players pull this off too?]

ㄴ[They're built for 1v1s. This is different]

ㄴ[Maybe if they adapt, they can manage something similar]

ㄴ[Who even is Yeon, you weeb losers?]

ㄴ[Can she share her character customization settings?]

ㄴ[After seeing all the nonsense here, probably not]

ㄴ[If she's a middle schooler, Can I marry a middle schooler?]

 ㄴ[Bro, are you okay?]

ㄴ[Unnie how about you marry me instead?]

 ㄴ[Okay let's do it]

As the frenzy began to die down, a new post reignited the excitement.

[Today, I Faced 1 vs. 50… I Was the 50.]

(Attached video)

[Is this even real? Sure, the Frostwolf bridge has great terrain for defense, but how does one person hold off 50 enemies by themselves?]

The video showcased the events of the match.

For those who had only seen the screenshots, this was their first time witnessing the full spectacle.

The relentless skill Yeon had displayed—the seamless deflections, the calculated strikes, the sheer dominance—all of it was laid bare.

No words could do it justice.

The screenshots had captured isolated moments, but the video revealed the full story.

And it left viewers speechless.
