Chapter 385: Chapter 387: The Final Team?
Vampire Blood?
This substance had the potential to create a vampire with a lineage on par with Little Fran or Remilia, transforming an ordinary person into a top-tier existence.
However...
Alexander wasn't particularly interested.
Sure, he often joked about the limitations of human power, but that didn't mean he wanted to become a vampire. The perks of vampire blood—extended lifespan, immense magical power, and advanced vampiric abilities—were tempting. But Alexander already possessed his own arsenal of abilities, rendering those benefits unnecessary.
So...
"I'll save it for someone who needs it later," Alexander decided, storing the drop of vampire blood into his personal space.
---
On the side, Nero appeared, practically bouncing with excitement. She threw herself into Alexander's arms, her energy making his body sway as she exclaimed, "Summoner! The mansion! Did you bring it back?"
Alexander, a bit puzzled, nodded. "Nero, I brought it back, but why are you so excited?"
To him, it was just the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Sure, it was impressive, but Nero's enthusiasm seemed over the top.
"Summoner! If you can move something as massive as the Scarlet Devil Mansion, then let's go to Rome and bring back the Colosseum! I want to host a grand concert inside!"
'...What?!'
Bring back the ancient Roman Colosseum? Was Nero serious?
"Your Majesty Nero, you're insane! Even if I could do that, wouldn't you at least consult the people of Rome first? And let's not even start on your... reputation for loyalty!"
And a concert?
Alexander couldn't stop himself from thinking, 'Girl, do you even know how bad your singing is? It's loud enough to level the entire Colosseum! Letting you hold a concert isn't entertainment—it's a massacre!'
"No! Absolutely not!" Alexander said firmly.
Seeing his refusal, Nero grabbed his arm and started shaking it furiously, her persistence unmatched. But Alexander held his ground. He knew that if he gave in, Nero would actually find a way to haul the Colosseum back for her ridiculous idea.
"Fine!" Nero huffed. "If you won't help, then I'll just open my 'Golden Theater' myself! I don't believe for a second that I can't hold a concert!"
With that, Nero stormed off. Watching her determined expression, Alexander couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine. 'Is she really going to hold a concert?'
Why? Why must the fans of Her Majesty Nero suffer so?
---
'Brush! Brush!'
At that moment, a figure emerged from the shadows of Alexander's basement. It was Mikoto, who had just arrived from Academy City.
She watched Nero storm off with a puzzled look, clearly wondering what had just happened.
"Alexander, what's Nero up to? Why was she running off so quickly?"
"It's nothing," Alexander replied, shaking his head. "Nero's just... Nero. Being a little abnormal now and then is perfectly normal for her."
He then turned his attention to Mikoto. "But Mikoto, why are you here at this time? Did you miss me?"
Mikoto crossed her arms and huffed. "Hah! You wish. Don't flatter yourself. I'm here to compete in the Luna Luna Contest. Today's the city-level final, and our team is heading to the venue shortly."
Alexander blinked in shock.
"Wait... WHAT? You're already in the finals?! I've been busy with all this chaos, and now you're telling me you've made it this far? Hold on a second—your team made it to the finals with Yasuo? How?! Did you cheat? Just so you know, cheating will get you banned across the entire network!"
Hearing his outburst, Mikoto rolled her eyes and turned away, clearly unimpressed.
"Cheating? Hah! Shows how little faith you have in us. You don't know how amazing our team is! Listen up: I'm the top laner, Yasuo's our mid-laner, Gilgamesh's in the jungle, and the blank siblings, Sora and Shiro are on the bottom lane. As for our substitute, it's Schwi-chan! We've been an unstoppable force—gods block our path, we defeat gods; Buddhas stand in the way, we topple Buddhas. And you think we'd need to cheat? I'm Mikoto! Cheating isn't in my vocabulary!"
Alexander could only stare blankly.
"Not cheating, huh? Yasuo and Gilgamesh might be legit, but you—Mikoto—electrocuting your way through the competition doesn't count as cheating? The blank siblings' insane gaming skills aren't cheating? And Schwi? You brought along a machine with intelligence surpassing the world's most advanced A.I. as a substitute! That's not cheating; it's practically a 'walking cheat code'!"
Alexander rubbed his temples, unsure how to even process this lineup. All he could do was silently pray for their opponents.
'I hope they don't end up so crushed they quit gaming altogether...'
"But since this is the final, it's probably going to be broadcast live," Alexander continued, giving Mikoto a knowing look. "You'll be on full display. Just don't get yourselves disqualified in front of the entire world."
Alexander sighed and glanced at the clock. "Alright, it's almost time. Let's go. I'll bring everyone along to cheer for you. Don't lose, though. With this lineup, if you lose... it'd be embarrassing—for me."
