I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 444: Chapter 444 The Moment Moses Seeks

Training in battle, growing in battle.

This is what Moses is currently doing.

After seeing Moses deflect the Nen arrows with his blade, Miro finally understood the true intention behind Moses's proactive challenge.

'Learn and apply immediately…?'

'No.'

'How is it possible to learn such a miraculous technique on the spot just by watching it once?'

Miro didn't even understand the principle behind that technique, he only found it was incredibly perplexing.

But the truth was right before his eyes, leaving no room for disbelief.

This young man in front of him was indeed figuring out and utilizing the same peculiar technique that Ging had just demonstrated during the battle.

'What a terrifying talent and ability...!'

Miro could clearly feel a chill coursing through his body, and he began to doubt whether he could drag Moses into hell along with him.

But soon, Miro forcefully crushed the doubts rising in his heart.

No matter how terrifying Moses's talent and abilities were, he, who is already driven to the edge, had no more choices left.

So there is no point in thinking about whether he could do it or not.

All he had to do now was burn the flames of his life to the end, and make his enemies regret it!

"I... will never let you have your way!"

Miro's heart trembled, but his killing intent surged even higher.

Moses didn't care about Miro's thoughts. He remained fully focused on swinging the black knife, and used his rather crude Nen to mobilize this technique, trying his best to deflect the flying Nen Arrows.

Perhaps this was the limit of what he could achieve at the moment.

Trying to deflect the attacks back at the enemy with the same precision as Ging was obviously impossible.

After a few strenuous attempts, Moses decisively gave up on the idea.

The path ahead is long, and there's no need to rush for quick success.

As long as he keeps walking steadily, the scenery he wanted to see will eventually appear before him.

Moses's state of mind was calm and unaffected. While deflecting the Nen Arrows with his sword, he gradually advanced toward Miro.

This leader of the Erimo Bandit Group had already served his purpose, so it's now the time to end the battle.

Outside the battlefield.

To the onlookers, the battle situation at this moment was that Moses was calmly swinging his sword to deflect numerous Nen Arrows in all directions while gradually approaching Miro.

'What a frightening learning ability...'

Heram looked at Moses, who was slowly gaining the upper hand with eyes filled with astonishment.

He had witnessed Ging's technique of kicking back the Aura Blade earlier, and now, he was witnessing Moses gradually mastering a similar technique while defending against the Nen Arrows. Heram fully understood that Moses had learned Ging's technique through his attempts in battle.

And he had quickly applied this technique in combat.

'It wasn't just his learning ability, his technical foundation and adaptability were also incredibly outstanding.'

'The young truly are formidable.'

This was the evaluation that surfaced in Heram's heart.

Even he, who had been through a lot, was so surprised, let alone Satotz and Quinn next to him, who were already utterly dumbfounded.

Inside the battlefield.

Miro's offensive wasn't diminishing. In fact, with the increase in his killing intent, it was becoming even more fierce.

But Moses had fully adapted to the Raging Waves' attack pattern. With a steady rhythm, he can effortlessly deflect the multitude of Nen Arrows.

'I really want to fight with Franklin again...'

Walking among the flying Nen Arrows, Moses suddenly thought of Franklin.

He wondered…

If it was Franklin's Nen Machine Gun, could he deflect all those attacks like he was doing now?

Going even further, what if it were Zeno's Dragon Dive?

When he thought of this, Moses laughed in his heart.

He realized he had set his expectations too high for this technique, but he also had to admit that this technique was highly effective against Emission-Type attacks.

Coupled with the already-proven Kyoka Suigetsu, which worked well against Enhancers...

These two categories, which specialize in destructive abilities, had been marked as countered by Moses.

Perhaps calling it a 'counter' was too premature, but he did have the means to deal with them now.

However, since he hadn't fought with experts at Netero and Zeno's level, it was hard to say what the future of these 'counters' would be.

'I'm still far from that right now.'

Moses is well aware that he still has a long way to go.

At his current level, going up against someone like Netero or Zeno would leave him with little chance to resist.

The fact that he could afford to think about these things in the midst of a battle showed that Miro's offensive pressure had dropped to an all-time low.

Miro, of course, could sense this shift in the fight.

[Shape of Sound: Nightmare]

Without any hesitation, Miro switched up his technique with a roar of fury.

Instead of choosing the wide-range attacks of Raging Waves, he focused all his power into a single point. Using sound as a medium, he materialized a grey warhorse with sharp horns and fangs, which charged through the air toward Moses.

Judging by the shape of this Nightmare Warhorse, it no longer seemed like a purely Emission-Type attack, but rather a Nen Beast, as it began to take on a solid form.

If it leaned more towards being a Nen Beast, there was a possibility this warhorse could have tracking or changing-direction abilities.

But for Moses, there was no need to consider or guard against any potential threats the Nightmare Warhorse might pose in such a fleeting moment of battle.

The reason is simple-

Moses swung his blade horizontally, aiming at the warhorse charging through the air. Yet just as his black blade was about to make contact with the Nightmare Warhorse…

[Shadow Shift]

Moses's figure vanished into thin air, causing the menacing Nightmare Warhorse to charge into nothing but air.

At the same time…

Moses reappeared beside Miro, seamlessly continuing his horizontal slash as he stepped past him.

Tap, tap, tap-

As his footsteps hit the ground, a faint ripple spread across the surface.

Within that ripple was a quick flash of a waterline, streaking across Miro's neck.

That was the black sword slicing through the air, drawing moisture from the rain, creating a lethal strike.

Just like that, he slashed Miro's neck, opening a wound that would swiftly drain the life from him.

This is the fundamental reason why Moses does not need to worry about the potential threat posed by the Nightmare Horse.

After all, he could use Shadow Shift to avoid danger and immediately launch a counterattack at any time.

By the time Miro realized what had happened, his eyes widened in shock.

Blood sprayed from his neck, instantly dyeing his vision red.

His Nightmare Warhorse technique did have a follow-up attack, and the relentless Nen Arrows barrage earlier was meant to mask the unexpected nature of the warhorse's attack.

But how could he have anticipated that Moses would switch so cleanly from practicing his techniques to delivering a death blow, evading risk and launching a fatal counterattack?

"Ugh…"

Miro wanted to turn around and look at Moses.

But just as he began to move, Moses swung his sword again, decapitating him and walking straight toward Ging without stopping.

Miro's head tumbled through the air, unable to catch a glimpse of Moses, though he could still hear for a brief moment.

So, in the last moments of his life, he heard Moses say:

"How could I ever be complacent after getting such a foul reputation? If there is any happy moment worth mentioning in my deeds, it must be the moment when I sent people like you to hell."
