Chapter 1015: Start of first Finals
[Eon's POV: ]
"Good luck, everyone."
Time flew by quickly, but it was fun.
"Good luck, everyone~. Break a leg!" Rein was cheerful, but as always, the others weren't as excited about these tests as the two of us.
"We don't have to break any legs, Uriel. It will be a good thing if we don't end up with a broken leg, actually…"
Quin had studied well for the exam, she had learned and she had made sure she understood everything that was taught despite the time she spent in the Runes, and she also made sure to take Rein's advice into consideration and prepare accordingly.
'She wasn't from around here and did not even know about the language that we commonly used here, but she learned it.'
She learned a lot of things after coming here, after meeting us. She had a magic tome, a book containing powers that weren't simple magic.
She had made a great impact on the rest of the students and knowing her background, she was going to make an even deeper impact on this world. It was inevitable.
'She was tired right now, but she had done well all this time. She took care of a few things, did well with a good amount of her studies, and even after knowing about Us, she kept our secret.'
It wasn't something just anyone can do because they wanted to but she did it. And she did a good job handling all those things.
"Uhnuhnuhnuhn. What will happen… what will happen to me?"
Tia was acting, trying to show a vulnerable side of hers with those fake tears, but most of us knew she had done all that she could to prepare for these exams.
She was simply acting like this because she was still unsure about what we will have for the tests, and what exactly will happen during the tests.
No one practically knew how the test was going to go, but she was the only one that was trying to act worried about it.
"Tia, did you read the Ashfer's metric logic?"
"Hmmm?"
"You didn't? Wasn't it supposed to be an important topic?"
"…what? What's that?"
"That part where you use the metric logic to set the varying numbers into various categories-."
"Hey! That's part of the Understanding of Mana paper! I have etiquette's paper today!"
The others knew she was acting so they were making fun of her by asking her questions from different subjects.
'Just like Liz, the others had done this to distract her as well, but unlike her, they went a step beyond and asked her confusing questions from their own personal classes that she did not take.'
There were hundreds of classes here and we could only take six of them, which was a tricky task, but aside from a few classes, there were still many classes that were different for all of us.
Asking her questions that she wasn't going to have in this test today simply confused her and she would start thinking about what she had missed or what these people were talking about.
'She would then make a funny red face whenever she found out that they were making fun of hers which matched with her hair perfectly.'
It was a funny thing for most of us present here, and since there is still some time left before all of us have to go our separate ways for the different tests, all of us wanted to make use of this time that we have left.
'Some were using this time to look through their personal notes, there were some groups discussing the subjects that they had in common, some were speculating what would happen in these tests, and some were simply carelessly chatting with their friends.'
There was no need to worry about what kind of questions they were going to get in this test anyway since the kind of questions that they'll get will be unique and tailored just for them.
It was a unique thing about the academy, they had so much resources and manpower that they could focus on each and every individual.
'Focusing on development of each individual instead of simple education, that's what made the academy the most unique educational institution of them all.'
Even I don't know what kind of questions I'm going to get, but I know what paper I have today, and it's different from most of the people present here.
"Anyway, seems like everyone's ready for the tests?"
"Like hell we are…"
We helped them the best we could and yet they were all still worried about what they were going to face.
There might be practical questions, there might be a completely unique test made just for them, there might be theoretical questions in practical papers and there might be practical stuff in a theory paper.
As I've warned them, there might be any kind of question present in this test. Everything we have learned until now ever since we came to the academy was the syllabus, and if we have learned anything, there is a possibility that they will ask it in this test.
And, since most of us will have different papers on different days, we won't really have anything that we can share with one another about the test topics itself.
"Lucifer, what do you think about helping us out with a few things?" Zoe was asking this question with a smile.
It was obviously a silly question that we have said that we won't be helping them beyond what we already have.
And it also certainly made many of them look up to us with an expectation filled expression… but it wasn't going to happen.
"Looking at the possibilities, I do not think that will be possible, captain. And even without those possibilities, there isn't really anything that we can help out with."
"Oh don't be like that~. There must be Something you can tell us~."
"You know the best that I won't even if I can."
I don't want them to become over reliant on us, especially when it comes to the exams.
We have spent a wonderful first year together, but after these exams are over, we will go our separate ways for a while.
We won't be seeing each other for a few months and when we come back, we will be in our second year of the academy where we will have to study things that will be completely different from what we have learned until now.
"I should actually take my leave. It's almost time for the exam."
Zoe did that on purpose so that I can get out of there, as well as to tease the rest of them…
'She was looking out for me while playing with the rest of them. But they won't know about it.'
We were in the garden right now and there were many people around us. Many of the people around us also wanted to come up to me and ask me about a few things.
'I have an understanding of nature paper as well, so many of the others who had the same paper as me wanted to ask about what might come in the papers even though they had an idea that we won't have the same paper.'
Not everyone knew about the way they were going to create the papers or the fact that each individual's papers were created by a council of experts. Find adventures at empire
Most of the people only know it's going to be a test that might involve any kind of questions… however, they are going to be surprised.
[{ "I'm looking forward to the faces that they all make when we meet up after the test." }]
Rein and I left the rest of them in a hurry since we knew not just Quin, Tia, Liz, Carla, Alf, and the rest, but also Captain Alpha, Luna, Prince Alph, Ezra, Hide, even some others who weren't around commonly were going to stay anxious with the two of us there.
They needed to clear their minds instead of reading something or memorising something or refreshing their memories.
They are going to do well if they apply things that they have learned all this time.
[{ "If you get something strange or funny, I'll be laughing at your face as well, you know?" }]
[{ "The same goes for me, darling." }]
She was saying that, but she knew she would be more prone to surprises than me.
'With my Memory and Lucy with me, I will complete most of the questions. And if things go well, I'll even give answers that will help the ones that will check the questions.'
The only thing I'm worried about are the thorny questions that will require me to write fast, and the handwriting that will come out of that process. But the teachers will understand that much.
'On the other hand, there might actually be things that she doesn't understand or couldn't get correct.'
There might also be things that she just cannot articulate, or things that she couldn't do as well as she wanted.
"I'll do better than you and then I'll laugh at you! Hmph!"
But she was confident this time.
"Sure. We'll see about that."
She had prepared and done her best to prepare herself.
She was ready for any kind of trial they threw at her. The experiences that she has had have made her stronger and much better than what she used to be when we came here.
"I have to go this way so… see you soon." Giving her a light kiss, and my best well wishes, I stepped back.
"I'll do better than you think, okay?"
"Of course you will."
She has improved the most among us, so I have no doubt that she can do better than even me.
'The only thing that will stand in her way and a better score than my anticipation would be her approach to the questions that she receives.'
If she can understand what those questions want from her, she will do good.
"See you later then~."
"Don't do stupid things and just finish everything, okay?"
"Haha, of course of course."
This exam is going to be fun, actually.
The questions won't be the only thing confusing the students… even the place these questions are written on will be a final deciding factor in their scores.
