Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Onoki: We Have No Choice but to Go to the Mist Village

"The information is true," Onoki admitted grimly. "I just returned from Konoha. My initial plan was to send the perfect jinchūriki information back to the village and then negotiate an alliance with Konoha. But that old Raikage was faster."

In the tense conference room, the Daimyo of the Land of Earth leaned forward, his face filled with concern. "Does this mean the village—and even the Land of Earth—will face threats from both Konoha and Kumogakure in the future?"

Onoki hesitated, sighing deeply. "For now, the greater threat comes from Kumogakure. Konoha will focus on recovery after its recent war with the Sand Village, but if Kumogakure gets into a conflict, Konoha will be forced to act as their ally. That's when things will become dangerous for us."

The tension in the room thickened. Iwagakure had long-standing friction with Kumogakure. Small skirmishes could easily escalate into a full-scale war. If that happened, Iwagakure would risk being attacked from both sides, flanked by Kumogakure and Konoha.

"What do we do? Are we expected to just endure Kumogakure's provocations?" one senior official asked angrily.

"Endurance won't work!" another interjected. "Tolerating them will only embolden Kumogakure further. If they can form alliances, so can we!"

"With whom?" a skeptical voice countered. "Konoha and Kumogakure are now united. The Sand Village is essentially Konoha's subordinate. The Mist Village is still mired in internal conflict. Who else can we turn to?"

The room devolved into heated arguments, voices rising until Onoki slammed his hand on the table.

"Enough!" he shouted, climbing onto his chair to address the room. Though his stature was small, his voice carried authority. "Konoha and Kumogakure have already formed their alliance. Complaining won't change that. Mochi is right—if they can ally, so can we."

A Risky Proposition: The Mist Village

The room fell silent as Onoki continued. "Our best option is the Mist Village. It may not be ideal, but we have no other choice."

His declaration was met with shocked expressions.

"But the Mist Village is still in chaos!" someone objected. "Their civil strife isn't over. How can we ally with a village that can't even govern itself?"

Onoki nodded grimly. "You're correct. The Mist Village is unstable. But if we wait for them to resolve their conflicts on their own, it could take years—time we don't have. So, we'll help them stabilize."

The room erupted in murmurs of disbelief.

"Help them? How?" another official demanded.

"We'll apply pressure," Onoki explained. "Spread the news of the alliance between Konoha and Kumogakure. That alone will stir unrest within the Mist Village. Then, we'll step in and support a faction of our choosing, helping them rise to power. Once their civil war ends, we'll negotiate an alliance."

Onoki's plan was bold but risky. By intervening in the Mist Village's internal conflicts, Iwagakure could speed up their stabilization. However, such meddling could also backfire if the chosen faction failed.

Still, Onoki knew they had no other choice. "Without a strong ally, Iwagakure will be vulnerable. Kumogakure has pushed us into a corner, and we must act before it's too late."

Meanwhile, in Konoha

Back in Konoha, the village was alive with celebration. The alliance with Kumogakure was hailed as a monumental achievement, promising peace and security for years to come.

In Shinki's home, however, things were quieter. Tsunade lounged carelessly on the sofa, tossing her shoes aside and stretching out as Shinki reviewed files.

"Not bad news, huh?" Tsunade teased. "An alliance with Kumogakure. And now you're stuck teaching their jinchūriki. Aren't you mad?"

"Why would I be mad?" Shinki replied without looking up. "As a member of the village, it's my duty to help our allies."

"Besides," he added with a wry smile, "it's not like they're sending the Two-Tails jinchūriki. That would be a headache."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "What makes you so confident?"

Shinki set the file down and shrugged. "The current Two-Tails jinchūriki is an older man nearing the end of his career. If Kumogakure wants a perfect jinchūriki, they'll send someone like Killer B."

"Killer B?"

"Yes. He's the Eight-Tails jinchūriki—a young, eccentric kid who's obsessed with rapping. Honestly, he's more trouble than he's worth, but his potential to become a perfect jinchūriki is unmatched."

Tsunade smirked. "So, you're saying it won't be that hard to train him?"

"Not really," Shinki replied. "Killer B's biggest challenge is letting go of his inhibitions. He already has the raw talent and compatibility with the Eight-Tails. All he needs is encouragement to fully embrace his nature—even if it means putting up with his constant rapping."

Tsunade burst into laughter. "So, his secret to becoming a perfect jinchūriki is… rapping?"

"Essentially," Shinki said dryly. "Compared to Kushina, it's child's play. She had to work through far greater obstacles to achieve perfection. If she finds out how easy it was for him, she might lose her mind."
