Apart from Marshtomp, Nidoran, and the Shiny Wingull being Pokémon with purple-tier ratings, Golbat and Ditto also fell into this category, although their IV rating was classified as lower-grade purple-tier compared to the other three.
Despite Golbat's slightly less impressive rating, as Sato's starter Pokémon, it remained a focal point for training.
Currently, Golbat served as a primary attacker in his team while also taking on the role of a scout.
Even if Golbats role as a primary attacker may one day be replaced by Nidoran or Marshtomp, the scouting position will undoubtedly remain its specialty.
Moreover, once it evolves into Crobat, Golbat will also become Sato's regular flying transport Pokémon.
Additionally, when it learns moves like Haze and Taunt, Crobat, with its impressive speed, can also act as a disruptor in the team.
Sato held great hope for Golbat's future, aspiring for it to learn Nasty Plot as a power-up move someday.
A Crobat that knows Nasty Plot would become a terrifying assassin under the cover of night or darkness.
As for Ditto, Sato was currently somewhat disappointed with it.
Although it repeatedly promised to work hard and participate in direct combat, its enthusiasm only lasts a few days before reverting to its previous lazy self.
However, Sato wasn't one to back down. If Ditto refused to train, Sato forced it into practice mode, compelling it to transform continuously to build its stamina.
In truth, stamina has always been a major limiting factor for Ditto's strength.
While Ditto can transform into large Pokémon, it lacks the power to properly control the massive forms it mimics. In essence, it's a paper tiger—formidable in appearance but lacking substance.
As a result, Ditto usually prefers transforming into smaller Pokémon. Lately, it has been particularly fond of transforming into the Shiny Wingull.
Among Sato's six Pokémon, the most surprising case was Growlithe. He hadn't expected its IV ratings to be the lowest, with a base stat total of only 138.
Although this is just two points shy of the 140 needed for purple-tier rating, the gap significantly impacts Growlithe's future potential.
Fortunately, Growlithe required a Fire Stone to evolve, and Sato knew that top-tier premium evolution stones can enhance the potential of Pokémon that depend on them for evolution.
Being a sentimental person, Sato treasured Growlithe's voluntary decision to follow him out of Viridian Forest.
He kept this in his heart, and if given the chance to obtain a top-tier premium Fire Stone, he'd do his best to secure it for Growlithe.
Currently, Growlithe was at level 25, far from the level 60 threshold. Sato still had plenty of time to find the perfect Fire Stone for it.
The efficiency of the Pokémon Center's treatment process was impressive. After waiting in the lobby for about ten minutes, Sato heard the announcement that his Pokémon were ready.
He quickly retrieved his six Pokémon from the counter and rented a single room at the center. After enjoying a hearty breakfast with his Pokémon in the center's dining hall, Sato returned to his room and fell into a deep sleep.
To guard against the potential antics of Dora and her gang, Sato had stayed up all night. Now, with dark circles under his eyes, he was utterly exhausted.
When Sato woke up again, the sky was beginning to darken. It was around 6 PM. After washing up and addressing his growling stomach, he headed to the Pokémon Center's dining hall for a feast with his team.
While eating, the images on the large TV screens in the dining hall caught his attention. To his surprise, the Battle Tower was hosting a Tower Master Challenge tonight.
What shocked Sato even more was the challenger—a female Trainer about his age.
Based on her features, the challenger appeared to be a blonde woman from the West.
Her fair skin, tall stature for a woman, and long, waist-length golden hair shone brightly. Her bangs were long, obscuring her gray left eye. Apart from a peculiar headpiece, she wore no feminine accessories.
The blonde woman donned a black women's suit. Her exposed gray eye radiated sharpness, and coupled with her striking appearance and noble aura, she resembled an aristocratic heiress.
Judging by the roaring cheers from the screen, the blonde woman had a significant fanbase. The audience filled the stadium to capacity, with some spectators even crowding the aisles due to a lack of seats.
Her fanbase included many female Trainers dressed similarly to her, waving fans printed with her image. Some fervent male fans waved flags and shouted enthusiastically.
In stark contrast, the Tower Master she was challenging—a burly man with a buzz cut dressed in martial arts attire—had noticeably fewer supporters in the crowd.
In fact, his presence was almost entirely overshadowed by hers.
It was ironic that the Tower Master had essentially lost his home-field advantage to the challenger. From his grim expression and cold, piercing eyes, it was clear that he was genuinely pissed.
"Cynthia!"
"Cynthia!"
"Cynthia!"
The blonde woman gracefully walked from the rest area to the battle platform. When she gave the audience an elegant bow, the atmosphere exploded with excitement. Her fans cheered in unison, calling out her name in support.
"Incredible... To think I'd encounter the future Champion of Sinnoh here," Sato muttered, stunned.
Seeing the young version of Cynthia appear on the screen, he was utterly amazed. He completely forgot about his food, focusing all his attention on the screen.
This was a rare opportunity to gauge the gap between himself and Sinnoh's future Battle Goddess.
