The result of the battle roulette was announced, and once the battlefield successfully switched, a referee riding on a Pidgeot for real-time surveillance immediately signaled for the two Trainers to begin their match.

The first to act was Cynthia. On the water battlefield, her initial Pokémon was Empoleon, one of the Sinnoh starters.

This Empoleon was extraordinary in demeanor; even through the screen, one could feel the immense battle spirit radiating from its eyes.

Upon appearing mid-air, it immediately executed Drill Peck, its entire body transforming into a spinning top as it rapidly rotated, stirring up white air currents and diving toward the water's surface.

What was surprising, however, was that despite the impressive display, Empoleon's entry into the water barely caused a ripple. Like a world-class diver, it entered the water with only the faintest splash.

"This… This level of physical control and energy manipulation is unbelievable!"

Watching Empoleon's flawless entry into the water, Sato, who had been eating, froze with his mouth agape, his expression one of astonishment.

"As expected of Cynthia. Her skill in training Pokémon is truly unmatched."

Once Empoleon was in the water, a whirlpool quickly formed and expanded to cover the entire water battlefield.

On the opposing side stood Karpen, the Level 17 Tower Master, a burly man in a martial artist's uniform specializing in Fighting-type Pokémon.

Faced with the commanding display of Cynthia's Empoleon, Karpen remained calm as he released his own Pokémon: Poliwrath.

Poliwrath's entrance wasn't as grand as Empoleon's, but it showcased its strength and finesse.

Before the crowd's eyes, Poliwrath moved effortlessly atop the whirlpool, like a martial arts master with extraordinary agility.

Poliwrath was no ordinary Pokémon. Clearly adept with human weapons, it clasped its hands together and used Ice Punch to form a massive ice blade and scabbard.

With its right hand, it drove the ice blade into the water below. The blade's passage froze the water, leaving a path of ice in its wake.

In just a few seconds, Poliwrath had circled the whirlpool created by Empoleon, leaving a ring of ice on the water's surface.

"Wow!"

The crowd couldn't help but exclaim in awe at Poliwrath's dazzling maneuvers. Though many remained loyal to Cynthia and silently cheered her on, they couldn't help but admire Karpen's Poliwrath.

"Incredible. A Pokémon that wields weapons... Karpen, the Tower Master, certainly lives up to his reputation," Sato murmured, stunned once more. Poliwrath now stood on the icy surface with its blade sheathed, its left hand gripping the scabbard and its right resting on the hilt.

Its closed eyes and steady posture gave it the air of a stoic swordsman.

"Empoleon, Aqua Drill Peck!"

Cynthia remained composed, her brow furrowing slightly as she immediately commanded her Empoleon to launch an attack from within the whirlpool.

"Left!"

From the beginning of the match, Karpen had been standing with his arms crossed, his eyes closed in apparent relaxation.

However, the moment Cynthia issued her command, he suddenly shouted.

As if clairvoyant, Karpen's words rang out just as Cynthia's Empoleon emerged from the left side of the icy path, surging out of the whirlpool.

Empoleon's entire body was cloaked in swirling water, the high-speed rotation of its body combining Aqua Jet and Drill Peck into an unstoppable, dragon-like torrent.

It charged toward Poliwrath with terrifying momentum.

Unfortunately for Empoleon, Karpen's uncanny foresight sealed its fate. Trusting its Trainer implicitly, Poliwrath adjusted its stance the instant Karpen spoke.

As Empoleon emerged, Poliwrath had already begun to draw its blade.

Poliwrath's eyes snapped open, gleaming with sharp focus. With the blade infused entirely with the power of Ice Punch, it leapt into the air, delivering a lightning-fast slash with incredible force.

This move transformed Ice Punch into a devastating Icy Sword Slash.

Poliwrath, solid as a mountain, channeled its immense strength into the ice blade.

A single swing unleashed a brilliant blue arc of energy, resembling a frozen, icy wave tearing through the battlefield.

The overwhelming cold and slicing blade energy surged outward, causing the ice beneath Poliwrath to spread further while simultaneously cracking under the immense power.

"Clang!"

The next moment, the clash of their moves resounded like a great bell being struck. A visible shockwave rippled outward, forcing most of the audience to cover their ears against the deafening sound.

Yet, their eyes remained locked on the battlefield, unwilling to miss a single moment of the spectacle.

After a second or two of tense stalemate, the crowd watched in shock as Empoleon's water-dragon form began to freeze rapidly.

Poliwrath's Icy Sword Slash cleaved through Empoleon's attack, leaving a blood-tinted ice scar across its body. The Sinnoh starter was sent flying, landing with a resounding crash, unable to continue battling.

The sheer force of that single move left the entire audience in stunned silence, as if the world had gone mute. For a few seconds, you could hear a pin drop.

Everyone was shaken by the overwhelming power of Karpen's Poliwrath.

"Karpen!"

"Karpen!"

"Karpen!"

The spectators, ever fickle, erupted into cheers for Karpen, their fervor rivaling—if not surpassing—their earlier enthusiasm for Cynthia.

"Karpen is too ruthless, treating a young girl like this," one person muttered.

"Hmph, these rookies think that just reaching the 18th floor means they can challenge us. How laughable," another scoffed.

"Everyone has their youthful arrogance. That girl, Cynthia, is strong. Give her another year or two, and aside from the top two Tower Masters, no one will be guaranteed victory against her," a third mused.

"Tch, everyone improves. Let's see how it plays out," someone retorted.

In the VIP section overlooking the battlefield, several dignified Trainers lounged on sofas, watching the match unfold with amusement.

Their gazes settled on Cynthia, whose face was slightly pale from the defeat.

"So this is the power of a Tower Master? Even Cynthia, the future 'Goddess of Sinnoh,' falls to him. How terrifying," Sato thought, awestruck by Poliwrath's overwhelming Icy Sword Slash.

The sight of Empoleon being taken down in a single strike stirred his fighting spirit.

Beside him, Sato's Marshtomp stared at the screen intently. So focused was the Marshtomp that it didn't even notice a shiny Wingull sneaking food from the nearby pile of snacks meant for Water-types.

"Grrr!"

Marshtomp stood up, clenching its fists, its battle spirit igniting.
