TSWFF: A West Coast Story

"Haaa, Haaa, Haaa." I was breathing heavily after that terrifying experience that I never thought I would experience something supernatural like coming face to face with a real fucking Wendigo.

But now I was extremely tired, hot and sweating like a pig so I used what little strength I had to hobble on over to a nearby vending machine that offered drinks and I bought myself a Gatorade before sitting beside the vending machine and downing it all.

Now my thirst was quenched I had to cool off and luckily I was next to the ocean so I could jump in to take a swim, problem was I didn't bring my trunks at all so now I was stuck sitting in my sweaty ass clothes.

But I was too tired to move from this spot as my eyes grew heavy before dozing off next to the vending machine with no one around to bother me.

But even as I took a nap I felt like I was being watched and those eyes were freaking me out even in my sleep and in my dreams I was still running from it but unlike when I was running before it didn't just watched me.

I was being chased until it finally caught up to me and then-

*Stab!*

"Ahh!"

"Ahh!"

I shouted out as I woke up from my brief nightmare only to cause someone who was trying to wake me up only to stumble and fall on her ass after I woke up with a shout.

"Oh, oh I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were trying to wake me up…. Wait, class president?" I couldn't help but ask as I noticed it was Lily the class president of my grade and a centaur Demihuman who can switch between normal legs and an actual horse lower body.

"Yes, Hello Markus, it's a bit surprising to see you in such a state way out here, I was on my daily jog when I saw you napping against the vending machine…. Along with thrashing around while having a nightmare." She said after taking my hand to get up as she looked over me and seeming worried about me.

"Hehe, always the good student you are prez, worried about your fellow classmate." I said before trying to walk over to the bench only to begin to stumble.

"Careful, Markus what's going on, you look like you ran a marathon with how drenched you are, even your legs are giving out on you." Lily said as she caught me before helping me sit on the nearby bench.

"Heh, you wouldn't believe me even if I told you what happened." I shook my head while she looked at my right hand.

"When did you get that tattoo, it's only been a week since school ended and you went out to get a ta-" she began to lecture me but then suddenly saw my tattoo suddenly fade away, something tattoos can't do, well at least the normal inked ones like the tattoo she just saw disappear.

"…. Yeah, this thing is part of the reason why I ran for my life and ended up on this beach…." I said clasping my hands together while my leg began to shake as the clear look of terror written on my face.

"Markus, hey look at me okay? Tell me what happened, no matter what you say I'm not going to say anything about whether it happened or not, so just talk to me okay?" Lily said as she took one of my hands and looked at me trying to console me.

"Haaaa…. Fine, I'll tell you what happened that lead me to here right now…." I said before going over everything that lead me to here right now.

"-And that's how I got here, now I got this whatever the fuck curse mark or something on my hand and now I'm starting to get nightmares of that Wendigo chasing me down and killing me in my dreams and then you woke me up so here we are now…." I couldn't help but say with tears in my eyes.

I was shivering, I was scared, terrified even as this is the first time in my life something like this ever happened before, and now I didn't think I could go home like this as what if that thing came and hurt mom? Or Pearl and Cassandra? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if that happened, and now I didn't feel safe to go home or try and stay with anyone as I got this nagging feeling that if I don't deal with it today something bad was going to happen.

No super powers just a normal guy that now has some monster bitches eyes locked onto me and I am a normal guy who will be 16 around the end of summer so how am I supposed to handle this?

My thoughts were starting to take a downward spiral, but before I could fall further towards internally Lily grabbed at my hands.

"Markus, look at me, it's going to be alright okay? I don't think your lying with how terrified you look, even if the story was a bit strange what you did to that thing, so I think I know what you must do, to get over this you need to face your fears!" She said in a matter of fact way,

But I looked at her wide eyed, "What are you crazy?! Are you trying to get me killed or something?!?!" I couldn't help but shout at her for saying something so insane like that.

"Not in the slightest! Maybe your over thinking the situation, think about it if that Wendigo was as fast and as powerful as you believe it to be then it should have chased you down, but you a completely normal human, out ran it, that tells me it never had any intentions to hurt you in the first place and you just assumed it did because your fight or flight response told you to flee in fear." She said in matter of fact way which made me stop talking.

I didn't have anything to really say as I could have been overreacting, but the feeling that I Would Die, if I broke that object didn't go away, but I didn't feel that feeling after I came all over it, almost felt like it wanted me to do that.

And while it was staring and watching me I never actually felt that same feeling like when I felt like I should break that cursed object, I was being watched sure but I never felt like I was being hunted at all.

So thinking all about it I calmed down and got my shit together, "Your right, if it wanted me I wouldn't be here right now…. But even if I wanted to face my fears I don't have any strength in my legs….." I say as my legs still felt like jelly even though I had been here for over an hour as it had now become mid afternoon since I took my nap at noon.

"Don't worry! With me here I can help you out!" She said before a poof of smoke surrounded her and her body changed into her centaur from with her pants covering her back legs and rather noticeable crotch bulge.

"Now hop on, today I'll let you ride on my back while we go face that monster of yours." She said offering her hand to which I took as she helped me get on her back.

"Now hold on tight!" She said making me wrap my arms around her waist before she began to gallop into the direction of the Del Monte Forest.

Even though I had just run away from it, with Lily backing me up it was time that I Faced my Fears and deal with this monster that had already begun to haunt my nightmares.
