Chapter 33: Decision
The silence that followed was deafening. The weight of the choices before him pressed down on Jay's chest like a thousand-pound stone. His mind was a swirling chaos of doubts, regrets, and fleeting glimpses of the world he had once known.
He had already lost so much. His humanity, his past, and so many of the people who had crossed his path. The more he learned about the Elixir, the more he realized how it had corrupted everything. It had taken from him in ways he couldn't even begin to understand. The light and darkness inside him—once two opposing forces—had now fused into something far more powerful, something far more dangerous.
And now, Jay had to decide whether to use that power to reshape the world… or to let it all burn.
The world around him seemed to grow dimmer as the weight of his decision pressed harder on him. He looked down at his hands, his fingers trembling. He could feel the power—light and darkness intertwined—coursing through him, threatening to burst free.
Then, as if drawn by some unseen force, Jay turned and looked out into the horizon. Far off in the distance, he saw the first signs of change—winds howling, storms gathering, the sky rippling with a strange energy. The world itself seemed to sense the shift, as though it was holding its breath.
The decision was upon him. He could not delay it any longer.
